@terencefranks1688 Yes, more boats arrived than in 2022, but if you look at the actual numbers in the first 7 months of 2023, according to Min. Interior, it's 89,000, so not crazy numbers. Since naval blockades cannot be made because they are against the international laws of the sea (which Italy has signed), he intends to stop them by drawing up agreements with the countries of departure (Tunisia and Libya) and transferring them to Albania

Italy is very smart to walk away from China.
Why ? Can Italy replace all the goods they import from China with it's own ? Do they have domestic capabilities for production of those goods (and , at least , similar prices for them) , or can they replace them with European ones (again , with similar prices) ? Who (in Italy) will pay the price difference ? Will that move create more jobs internally , with livable wages , without subsidies from the state (which comes form the budget , which comes from tax payers) ?
