- This Japan Guide focuses lesser known Tokyo Hidden Gems that are not mentioned in a lot of Tokyo guide books. I wanted to show you some secret hidden spots to most Japan tourists. Instead of take you to the regular Tokyo Tourist Traps that are often prime destinations for first time Japan visitors, I wanted to take you to some of my favorite local places in Tokyo. This video will serve as Guide for these Tokyo hidden gems and will give you ideas on what to do in Tokyo. You don't need to follow the path in the standard guide books to have a great time in Tokyo. Also, this hidden gem spots may also serve to be great instagram / instagramable places in Tokyo as you will see from this video.

Hamarikyu is a beautiful Edo-period garden hidden just beyond the Shiodome and Shimbashi area.
Zojoji is one of the seven great head temples of Jodo Sect, located in Shiba Park. It was built in 1393 and moved to this location in 1598. Zojoji is known to be the family temple of the biggest shogunate during the Edo period and in fact is the house of 6 Tokugawa shogunates.
One of the indearing features of this site is located on the side of the main building. The Sentai Kosodate Jizo statues stand in line in cute little red hats and pinwheels smiling at you.
The Tokyo Farmer's Market is located in front of United Nation University, just 5 minutes walk from Omotesando Station.
Jiyugaoka, directly translated means Freedom Hill. The area started developing in the 1920’s and over the years has become desirable places to live in Tokyo. Wide open streets, minimal crowds, a variety of shops and restaurants and only a 12min ride from Shibuya make it one my favorite chill spots in Tokyo.
Koto Hirgagu shrine is wedged right in the middle of the Toranomon business district. Built in the 1600's, this shrine used to be the south entrance of Edo Castle.
The 4 animals on the torii represent the 4 Guardians of the East, West, South and North. It signifies that this was once a very powerful site. It enshrines the strongest god in Japanese mythology Oomono Nuno Kami.

Hi Paolo, I just wanted to thank you. We just came back from Japan and we saw all your videos before our trip. We really enjoyed many different things that we would have missed if your videos weren't available. I just bought a couple of your t-shirts as a sign of appreciation. Please keep up the good work and thanks again!

Thanks for sharing this amazing and less known places!!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!! So many people who make videos about japan cover the same touristy and well known locations over and over which is okay but gets boring sometimes seeing repeats : it’s seriously so great to see and learn about new places that I haven’t heard of before . Honestly one of my most favorite videos of yours so far which is really saying something because I haven’t once not enjoyed any of your videos!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the kind of words. Glad you liked this type of vid.
I have been to Zojoji shrine after vositing Tokyo Tower. So empty, and like all the places I want to were so beautiful. But you gave me more to want to go see when I visit again in 2021. Hope you and the wife are foing well. You videos are always so fun, and entertaining. So thank you.

This is what I like, the hidden gems away from the tourists, to see the history of Japan. The culture, history that goes back hundreds of years. BTW, nice Gimbal. Might have to see if I can find it on Amazon.

Love these gems 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You have inspired me to re-edit my pics from Japan 2 years ago! I shall do that soon and tag you in them. I have a bigger appreciation for Japan after watching all your Japan videos. Speaking of which, have you ever thought about covering Japan fashion? Maiko looks like a perfect subject to do a segment just with her and all the fashionistas! I'm not talking just Harajuku but everywhere else ranging from young adults to working professionals. Anyway, thanks again!
Just went to Hama-Rikyu 2 days ago. It's a beautiful place with no crowds.
I really enjoy your videos. Makes me want to go back to Japan. 😊
Pablo, thank you for taking my request! Please do more including food spots!
Going to Japan in January! These videos are so helpful!

These are amazing spots!! Looking forward to know them!
Thanks for the awesome tip on the Shinkansen with luggage. Just went down to Kyoto, worked like a charm.
Great hidden gems! I also like the little alleys in Kagurazaka, areas in and around Nezu and up to Yanaka. Small streets, peaceful and quiet places.
I loved everything specially the 3 and 2, time to fix my schedule again.
Great video love the once that are a bit off the beaten track 👍🇬🇧🏴

@@MillennialTravelConfessions Will do😁
Haha. I went to Zozoji on New Year Eve for the Joya no Kane, definitely not that quiet. Will sure visit it again on a quieter day. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for a great video!
Love this temple in the middle of modern building!
YES this is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!! I’m going in July :)
i love your videos you give me many places to visit
Great video. If I have one "complaint" about your channel, it's that you tend to hit the major spots everybody hits. Love these off-the-beaten-track spots. And what's even better about this video is that your off-the-beaten-track spots aren't the same spots in every other off-the-beaten-track videos :)
Heeey I was a zozoji temple 2 days ago!! I did not plan to go, I just walked around after going to Tokyo tower, I am glad I found it, it was really beautiful :)
Always amazing...
Great video!!
We felt like we were back in Japan again, great video.☺
Glad the video gave you that feeling. Thanks for always watching!
Japan is my dream and I'm so excited to see around
Thank you Paolo!
Wow definitely gonna check our the temple by Tokyo tower and the one in the business district so beautiful!
Here in Shibuya today (actually at your favorite conveyor belt sushi place, had to come back in less than a year) hoping to get a sighting of you both.
Paolo we recently went to Japan and we went to mostly your recommendations, you’re face is special mentioned on my video hehe!! Hope u can have a look one time. It’s my first time to upload! Thanks to you!!
i love tokyo.....thank so much.... super avid fans here.....
One of my fav less popular area of tokyo is Nippori. & i like the neighborhood areas 👍🏼✨
Going to Disneyland in Tokyo next year and we would love if you can make some videos of affordable hotels near Disneyland. Thank you!
Love all your videos!!!!
Opposite la vita got an old traditional looking house that serve lovely green tea desserts
I found Kotohigaru Shrine by accident while walking to Hie Shrine, quite a pleasant surprise. Hie Shrine is also amazing for fleeing tourist spots, if you don't mind the walking distance or just grab the tokyo metro marunouichi line
These places look soo cool!! I love your filming too! Great work!
Our hotel, where we will be in April, is very close to Hama Rikyu Park. Can't wait to be there. 😍
Paris > Tokyo, 5th visit, i'll arrive in two days and i've learned so much thanks to your channel. My mind is ready. Thank you Paolo ! If you visit Paris one day i'll be glad to give you all the secret spots of locals ;)
Great locations!
Your new gimble looks like magic moves Paolo!!!! 😬
First! But omg, I wish I was back in Tokyo. My boyfriend and I were just there about a month ago!
I will definitely go back!!
That gimbal is sick!
Another super video Paolo! Tell Maiko thanks for modeling in it and that my daughter said she needs her own CZcams channel!! One on makeup, fashions, skin care.... (girl stuff)?? Keep the videos coming.... PEACE:)
I love seeing miko in the videos we need more of her
Will be in Shibuya during Golden week. Going to do some vinyl record shopping. You need to do a vlog on all the great vinyl stores in your hometown.
hamarikyu garden, from there take the water bus to odaiba, from there take the water bus to asakusa. 3 amazing spots in one run
that farmers market is now on my top 10 visit in Tokyo list
