Tampa took all of that embarrassment from the past few seasons, especially last season's sweep and used it to fuel their anger. This season, they went on a mission to not let that happen again. It's very appropriate that Columbus was their first round opponent, exorcise that demon right away. Next up, Boston, a thorn in their sides, and subsequently dealt with. The Islanders put up a fight, as did Dallas, but ultimately the Lightning's talent proved to be too much, and they are now the Champs!
This brought a tear to my eye. I don't want this offseason to ever end. From humiliation to celebration - oh, how sweet it is! #STANLEYCUPCHAMPIONS #BETHEDISTANTTHUNDER #GOBOLTS #THENNOWFOREVER 🏆🏒⚡️

Great, great video!! Thanks for sharing :-) I'm a Leafs fan but it was good to see Tampa finally winning the Cup after so many years of coming up a bit short. They had too good and talented a team not to finally bring the Cup back to Tampa again. And honestly, had anyone asked me who'd be a favorite to take the Stanley Cup in this year's expanded format, I would've picked the Lightning. And don't forget they pulled a Virginia Cavaliers-esque 'Redemption Tour' by coming back after a devastating & historic early exit the year before to finally get past all their past playoff 'demons' and win another Stanley Cup. Congratulations to the 2020 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning!! :-)

No doubt. Pittsburgh in 2016, Washington in 2018, St. Louis in 2019 and now Tampa in 2020. Teams that are underestimated and/or counted out are often the most dangerous.
Ya honestly as a bolts fan I began to think it’d never happened but that’s how it works it happens when you least expect no one expected Washington really that much in 2018

Thanks so much for this! Very embarrassing but the 2018-19 season was my “rookie” season. Only sport i followed was 🏀 which happened to be the only sport my hubby doesn’t watch! Watched my first game in 2018 and was totally hooked! Have a yoda like hubby who patiently answered my many questions (fourth gen native Floridian who didn’t see snow or an ice rink until I was 24 ☺️). What a ride this has been for me and might have picked the two most interesting seasons to learn hockey from the bolts (although I still can't quite catch off sides 🤦🏼♀️). But damn, what a great group of guys and some wicked awesome fans! So happy I got to be the thunder and see them win the cup - even better than the Heat’s 2nd ring 😁 Will probably never like baseball, soccer, or golf (hubs on his own there) but at least I now understand the passion of hockey fans. And that I finally found a vid where the comments aren't from a bunch of crazy trolls. So thank you and can't wait for my third season!

The only thing I might have added was Sergachev beating down Jake McCabe and then taunting the crowd in Buffalo on New Year’s Eve. That ended up being a big comeback win and launched them into 2020. From that point on they were obviously the best team.

Damn that 2016 game 7 will always hurt cause it would've been back to back finals and they prolly would've won against in 2016 if they were the ones to have went against the Sharks instead of the pens. I know they came 1 win short in 2018 but idc about that cause I am a caps fan and 2018 was a dream come true for them but 2016 surely hurt. And Kucherov prolly would've been the conn smythe winner instead of crosby since he led the bolts in goals and points
People like to blame Rask for Boston losing. Yet the same thing happend last time we played em in the playoffs and it wasnt Halak in net. Boston has 2 wins vs Tampa in the playoffs the last 2 times they have met

Adversity ....something Tampa needed to face as a team ...they didn't face it in 2019 until it was too little too late ....The start of this season and the result of last year's exit was adversity and they fought through it and squashed it like a bug .
Exactly, every champion needs to fight through some kind of challenge in order to be battle-tested.
I’m gonna make one thing very clear, yes Tampa Bay shed their demons and finally won a Stanley Cup, but if they don’t become the next NHL dynasty this decade this will probably go down as one of the most forgettable playoff stories in the history of the NHL. I am expecting at least 4 cups this decade

Nobody is really going to forget who won the Stanley Cup in 2020 especially considering the circumstances. And that the Tampa Bay Lightning, with their collection of talent, finally broke through and captured the Stanley Cup after a string of playoff frustrations, only adds to their memory of winning it this year.
Wanted to hype myself up for the upcoming season by watching this and a few other tributes to the Lightning.
This take makes zero sense so many contributing factors outside of even Covid-19 that make this Stanley Cup Playoff and Win so memorable.
