i would advise against leaning over a running engine wearing anything with dangling neck cinch cords.

Dude, thanks for this video. my squeaky belt was driving me insane, tried new belts, pulley alignment, even replaced tensioner/idle pulley, nothing worked. My mechanic couldn't figure it out either. I just sprayed some CRC conditioner and it disappeared. going on 3000 miles, will spray again in the spring for preventative maintenance.

I used that on a squeaking belt 06 TL and it made it so much worse. I'll never use CRC belt dressing again.

Your comment says "belt dressing" and NOT belt conditioner. They are absolutely not the same thing.
The belt dressing is the spray that makes your belts super sticky. It is meant for slipping belts, but a lot of people report what you are saying. It ends up making it worse because it adds a bunch of sticky residue goo basically. Like glue.
This belt conditioner is a very different product than that belt "dressing". This belt conditioner is basically a silicone lubricant meant to make dried out belts more playable and not so dry. That is how it helps stop squeaking from the belt being old and dried out.
Now if your belt is slipping then you need to tighten it.
From your comment you used the wrong product entirely. I would stay away from belt dressing sprays. They end up making it even worse in a short amount of time.
This belt conditioner is a very different product from belt dressing.

EASY FIX ---- guaranteed ---- dielectric grease ----- just two inch long applications on the drive belt in 2 areas (naturally on the ribbed side of the belt).

Replace the belts with Gates brand. Don’t use Dayco.

Do not use belt conditioner on your belt. This product is very sticky and can make the noise worse. This guy does not know what he is doing. You’re taking an advice from a guy with a CEL.

The instructions will tell you not to spray this product on a serpentine.

I’m reading the can right now”use on all flat, round, serpentine or v -belts(leather,rubber,canvas or fabric) use every 3000 miles”
The only thing it says not to do is spray it while it’s on the car “do not apply while equipment is energized or on hot surfaces”
All the people applying while it’s on the car: you’re literally adding sticky conditioner onto your pulleys and saying “it’s not fixing the squeak comes back” yea cause you’re pulleys need to be cleaned with alcohol or soapy water very thoroughly BEFORE taking the belt off and lightly misting/ leave in the shade to dry a little for an hour. Don’t use brake cleaner it leaves residual residue and melts most plastics.

you bought the wrong product. the green can that is dressing is not meant for serpentine. the red conditioner can specifically states to use on serpentine.
