  • I am especially pained by the loss of lives in Borno, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano and other states, the destruction of facilities in some states, and the wanton looting of supermarkets and shops, contrary to the promise of protest organisers, that the protest will be peaceful across the nation. We must stop further bloodshed, I urge protesters and the organisers to suspend further protests and create room for dialogue

As a Chinese in Nigeria, I really want to talk to you, Mr. President. I have been here for three months, and what I see is not the largest economy in Africa, but refugee camps. Please, I used to describe it this way, but I can't express it better! ! ! Prices here are soaring, the currency is depreciating wildly, the roads seem to have just been after an earthquake, and the public security is not good. What I can't stand the most is the power outage every day. I often ask my Lagos friends, you have so much oil, why is there still a shortage of electricity? In China, we have not had a power outage for several years in a row, and there is light everywhere. I don't know what you do every day for the Nigerian people? Please bring light and hope to the Nigerian people.

I am an Indian and Have been living in Lagos since last 4 weeks. People are friendly and good. But really feel sad for the people in Nigeria that for such oil rich country and they still have to put up with long power cuts, huge waiting in queue at the fuel stations, bad quality roads in an economic city like Lagos. It’s really high time for the people of Nigeria to feel secured and cared by the govt of Nigeria. Roads infrastructure needs to be immediately worked respected Mr.President

Have you consider who benefits more if the put fuel back to 150naira per litre. Even though things might reduce but the oil marketers will get fuel subsidies rate and sell it to the neighbouring country at 1500naira litre. How does that help the country.

Mr. President, as a Chinese, I implore you and your senior officials to walk among the people, take a look, and listen. I think you will shed tears and feel ashamed. Several things Nigeria should do
    1. Improve education, reduce education costs, and improve education quality. Children are the hope of a country.
    2. Gradually reduce corruption and streamline institutions
    3. Vigorously develop agriculture and its own industry.
    4. Open up a free economy, attract investment, give foreign companies and factories preferential policies, come here to develop and build factories, and increase employment and income for local people. (People have income, and public security will gradually improve. People have no money to live, so they go to rob.)
    5. Crack down on dealers and illegal vendors who drive up prices.
    6. Stabilize the exchange rate. Only when the country's people are strong can their own currency not depreciate.
    7. Improve education, this is the hope of a country.

There is no accountability on the money that goes into the budget for the subsidisation of fuel.
What is the federal Government using the money for?
    Sharing?
The removal of fuel subsidy has rather created hardships.
