Can I take a moment to talk about how great this interviewer is? She’s respectful and doesn’t interrupt, she clearly did some research and knows what she’s talking about and is just having casual conversation with Taylor while also staying on topic and hitting every point. You don’t see many interviewers like that anymore so like, *mad* respect.

Rachel McAdams may have made Regina George an iconic character, but Taylor Louderman has elevated Regina to rock star status with her vocals. Could Tina Fey have found a better actress to play Regina on Broadway? Tina Fey said from the start that Taylor has this gigantic voice. Man, Tina wasn't lying. Her performance as Regina blew me away. I never expected it to be this great. I would vote for Taylor without hesitation to win the Tony. She definitely deserves it, but I think the Tony committee decided on Katrina Lenk long before "Mean Girls" even opened on Broadway. Yes, it's really unfair, when you consider that Katrina has been playing the same role in "Band's Visit" since 2016 (off-Broadway). A rule change is definitely in order to limit nominations to actors and shows that debut that given year.
It's amazing. Her voice has a texture that makes it so satisfying on her high notes.

I think that Mariah Rose Faith- who is now playing Regina on the tour- is going to bring a new version to her that is going to elevate her status even more. She has huge vocals and really clear quality- not really the same to Taylor, but I think she is going to be amazing. (i might be biased bc i love mariah soooooooo much) but i still think she is going to bring a whole new layer to Regina that is going to be epic.

I love how well she plays manipulative characters. Campbell may have been the protagonist in Bring It On, but she still manipulated everyone to make a cheer team in her revenge against Eva.

Yeah, but if you ask Taylor who she'd rather play, it's definitely Elphaba.
She had a small, but pretty unforgettable role in s02e13 of The Good Fight.
Prior to "Mean Girls", she was best known for playing Campbell in Lin-Manuel's "Bring it On." Her best known tv role was as Wendy in "Peter Pan." Incredibly, you could never guess that it's the same girl playing Regina in "Mean Girls", because she's a phenomenal character actress. In "Bring it On", you could see her dance talent on full display, and she performed acrobatic stunts. She's so talented that she belongs in Hollywood and needs to work on both coasts.
She sorta kinda looks like Anna Kendrick?? Both beautiful 😻

is there any difference between the DC show and the broadway?
Changes were made. They changed jokes, added new ones, changed dialogues and 5 songs are different or completely new. They made some changes to develop Cady and Regina characters and make their motivations more easy to understand to people who hasn't watched the movie.
Yeah, the DC version actually had a lot more quotes from the movie, but on Broadway they deleted or changed a lot of those (for example, at the end of Sexy, Karen originally said "I'm a sexy mouse, duh" like in the movie. Now she doesn't say "duh" anymore).
The biggest changes song-wise are the first song Cady sings (it was originally a song called Wild Life but they scrapped that whole song and replaced it with It Roars), Someone gets Hurt (it originally had a different tone and different lyrics), Fearless (which had a lot of it's lyrics changed, it was originally callled Justice), the song when Cady becomes the new Queen Bee (originally Cady sang a song called Bossed Up which was basically her enjoying being mean, which was replaced by Stop sung by Damian), the song Mrs George sings (she originally had a whole different song but they scrapped that and instead included her in the What's Wrong with Me reprise) and the final song (it was another song called You Can Sit With Us and was replaced by I See Stars). I believe A Cautionary Tale and More is Always Better were also slightly changed.

Sam J Yes, I read somewhere that they tried very hard to include a song for Kerry Butler in the Broadway version, which makes sense because hello she's freaking Kerry Butler, but in the end any song they wrote for either Mrs George or Mrs Heron ended up slowing down the pace of the show, which I can also understand.
RN94 I saw the show at broadway and really liked it but I thought many cool quotes were left out. Was there a song moment you liked Better on the DC version compared the broadway version?
I wasn’t a fan of the song fearless and it roars. And like I don’t get why getting rid of the “duh”
