      I’ve always wanted to try Pozole but I can’t never find it anywhere where I live. If I knew I wouldn’t get my lights punched out. I would ask one of the Mexican people that I know if they know how to make it and if they do, could they make me some. But I never do. Especially in today’s political environment.🍻

    I love making pozole and made it last week but….
    Like was said in the video, I usually just simmer the meat. From now on, I’m going to sear it before simmering. 👍🏼
    About the only things that I do differently is adding 4-5 cloves to the simmered chilis, onions and garlic before blending but also use about twice as many chili ancho.
    But as ArnieTex says, there ain’t no right way and there ain’t no wrong way…..👍🏼
    There’s your way!

    I roast a pork shoulder then cube it add to the stock with tons of onion and garlic add the red Chile/salt to taste once I add the hominy it certainly helps blend all the flavors serve with fresh onion lime and oregano on the side It's always better the next day too. This is the recipe we all need and it's the only way I utilize pork anymore

  • @markswayne6326
    @markswayne6326 Před 3 měsíci +4

    Looks delicious. Pozole is my number 1 comfort food.
    The pozole I grew up eating always had smoked pork hocks. The smokiness really adds some nice flavor. The first step is to make a big pot of stock using onion, patitas, and hocks. Then I pick out all the bones and mince the skins and meat bits from the feet. No need for any extra meat, the broth winds up so rich.
    Pig feet might be a bridge too far for CZcams, but definitely give smoked meat a try in your pozole, you won’t be sorry.

I always listen to yours cause I am actually interested in pans and cooking equipment, but I find it very tasteful to add the bar just so people can keep an eye on it and not miss any of the recipe! Nice job browning the porko also. The last video I watched had some guy making stew and he sauteed vegetables BEFORE doing the pork. Of course all the water in the pan made it steam rather than brown. Always sad seeing a meat turn grey when it could have easily been crispy golden

    Do you use canned hominy? I’m in New Mexico and all the stores carry a package in the freezer section that says “Pozole” it looks like hominy but it’s some spices already in it because it’s kind of reddish but no meat. I assume that would be the best hominy to use. Anyway, I love posole but have never attempted to make it because it’s a little intimidating but I think I’ll give this a try.
