I've always liked the Plymouths a little more but wow this 71 Daytona with its 472 Six Pack and Bi-wing is absolutely courageous !
The attention to detail especially the trunk.
The 5 spd pistol grip and even the louvres in the rear window is correct.
Sun roof and the split bench are a great touch.
Pam is very brave to go the mph in their own creations.
She is definitely the face for strong women and family values.
Their creations are priceless I can't even begin to imagine what it takes to take on a build project of this magnitude .
Stunning , that's the only word I can describe their creations with. The Daytona leaves me speechless.
Thanks Lou for doing these great interviews with a loving couple that has spent a lifetime together and built a couple of cars that Chrysler itself can not match.
Chrysler would be doing itself a huge favour if they hired this couple to build and promote their products.
Thanks again Lou I enjoyed this so much I have subscribed to your Chanel .
If you ever need someone to create some good copy please let me know.

NASCAR did not ban them. They put restrictions on them which effectively made them un competitive. You could have run a winged car in 71. But you would have either had to carry more weight or used an engine of 305 C.I. displacement. In the 1971 Daytona 500 Dick Brooks ran a 69 Dodge Daytona with the 305 C.I. engine. NASCAR was in a transition period and they used restrictor plates on the 427 C.I. engines running against the smaller 358 C.I. powerplants. The 427 engines were phased out by 74. NASCAR was concerned about speeds being obtained by the smaller lighter cars reaching speeds of 200 MPH and some bad crashes like the one Bobby Allison had at the 1987 Winston 500 at Talladega. His car tore down 100 feet of fencing after going air-borne. Rusty Wallace tested a car without a restrictor plate in 2004. He achieved 228 MPH on the backstretch at Talladega and a one lap average of 221 MPH. Rusty himself said no way could they run at those speeds in a pack like they do. So the reason Chrysler didn't continue with the wings cars was the fact that NASCAR made them un competitive.

I've never understood the love for these vehicles. I know they're super rare but damn they might be the most unattractive muscle cars of that entire era.

I don’t want this guy to keep doing this honestly. It’s cool but it’s just one of those things that should stay on the real charger Daytona. The 71 is just too bulky in the rear end and it sits higher too. It doesn’t match lol. Though I love the 71 chargers too it just doesn’t need it and should stay the way it was meant to be.

Ugh I'm really glad Chrysler didn't do this with the 71 Chargers and Roadrunners. The aero cars and the fuselage style don't go together.

On my desk is a Car Owner business card that I'm looking forward to videoing his cars. While waiting for the weather to cooperate in the Midwest, I believe the wait will be worth it. So as we get ready for the 2017 car shows a sample of his cars have the engines 426 & 440 :-) Also early January I'll be in Scottsdale to start the year off with many fun cars. Thanks for viewing the Channel, I appreciate it, Lou
