    A very impressive port on the SNES especially when you consider the 16-bit hardware. In the right hands, the SNES was doing things thought only possible on 32-bit systems. Actually, the 16-bit era of Genesis & SNES showed us how much power great developers were able to squeeze out of the respective hardware.

    The snes port was the best gift to her last days. I have played SO many hours to this port and then went to the arcades to kick everyone's butt. This port plays almost exactly like the arcade, but has the limitations of the Snes, overall an excellent game for the system, an incredible port but little faded out by the arcade.

      The gameplay is close to 1:1, it's the same feeling while playing and all moves and combos work the same. An excellent port, and the quality ist awesome, considered it's just about 15% the size of the original and the hardware is much weaker.

  • @RyuHayabusa06

    The SNES-port is crazy, it's just amazing to bring such a big game on a 16bit-platform. Imagine - the SNES- version has 32megs and the Original sure over 200megs or something - I don't know exactly... And it's very good playable too, just the "loading-time" before each round (now I know it's just for the sound decompression - but on a cartridge?) sucks a little. This port pushes the SNES-limits really fine - respect to the programmers!

    Seriously, this has gotta be one of the BEST ports on the SNES ever... Almost everything is intact except for just a few very minor things that were carefully left out. The controls are PERFECT and the gameplay speed is DECENT. Basically like a 85-90% accurate port right here. The letterboxing was prolly the ONLY thing that's really holding it back!

    Have any of you seen any those recent video demos of fighting games being ported on the Genesis by independent homebrewers lately? If games like SFA1, AOF3, RBFFS, and even KOF'98 are possible, then a game like SFA2 or perhaps SFA3 wouldn't sound too far-fetched at all... I've also seen some fully-playable homebrew ports of Fight Fight, Captain Commando, and Cadillacs & Dinosaurs. They all look very promising, and tend to show us what the Genesis hardware was TRULY capable of if things like cartridge space and budget money were NOT an issue back then in the 90's. So what exactly IS my point? I just really can't help but notice, that most of these homebrewers are exclusively using the GENESIS as their 'preferred' platform of choice when making these ports; and there must be a REASON for it! 🤔

    If anyone ever questions the Super Nintendo’s technical superiority to the Genesis, point them to this video. There is absolutely no way the Sega Genesis could run a port like this with such high fidelity. There is a demo video of an unofficial Genesis prototype made by some hackers/modders/homebrewers that's been in the works for quite some time now... Although the game is still nowhere near completion, it at least demonstrates that the Genesis was at least somewhat CAPABLE of porting this game. Capcom just didn't want to release games on Genesis anymore cuz they were 100% DONE with the 16-bit consoles by '95 or '96, and were focusing more on the 32-bit consoles instead!

    Mas me satisfez na época. Estava jogando um jogo com aparência moderna, pois SSF2 já estava bem datado em 96.
    Agora, se a pessoa jogou alguma das outras versões, não vai querer jogar essa versão nunca, nem de brincadeira. O downgrade é grande demais.

      By the time this game came out (4th quarter '96), the Genesis was already DEAD or in the phases of dying... The N64 should've gotten this port instead; I doubt if that system would have any of problems the SNES had. They chose to port it on the SNES simply because it was still a very popular system at the time!

    • @OtomoTenzi
      @OtomoTenzi Před rokem +1

      Actually, there is a demo video of an unofficial Genesis prototype made by some hackers/modders/homebrewers that's been in the works for quite some time now... Although the game is still nowhere near completion, it at least demonstrates that the Genesis was at least somewhat CAPABLE of porting this game. Capcom just didn't want to release games on Genesis anymore cuz they were 100% DONE with the 16-bit consoles by around '95 or '96, and were focusing more on the 32-bit consoles instead!

    Of course, the SNES version is worse... but... it is simply impressive... incredible, proportionaly, the SNES version is a lot better than the PC version... I like the most of the versions of the Zero/Alpha series... and the classic SFII versions too, for SNES, MegaDrive and GBA, they are impressive (SF II and SF Alpha/Zero 3 for GBA is marvelous too)

    The only Issue I had with the SNES port (which is amazing), is that the music is absolutely SHIT with all caps. I cannot believe just how terrible the music is in both content and quality. Everything sounds like it was a temporary soundtrack than if it was actively worked on or mega-rushed. It sounds like synthesized horns made up the entire soundtrack. I would've sacrificed a few more character animation sprites to get some better sound quality from the voices too. Voices are so muffled that it sounds almost like static.

    • @OtomoTenzi
      @OtomoTenzi Před 2 lety +1

      The music/sfx problems that you've mentioned could've easily been fixed just by adding a few more MEGS... I would've GLADLY paid $100+ for this, since it was gonna be one of the LAST games ever to be released on the SNES!

    I like how SNES fanboys consider THIS an """impressive""" port when Mortal Kombat 3 SNES has just as much characters, more animation and bigger sprites, actually good music, no black borders, and no slowdown and load times.
    This port isn't impressive in the slightest. Capcom always sucked at utilizing the SNES hardware (Compare any SNES beat em up by Capcom with TMNT Turtles in Time SNES by Konami. It isn't even close.), and this is no exception... well, except for Mega Man & Bass.

    • @OtomoTenzi
      @OtomoTenzi Před 2 lety +1

      Capcom could've just went with an N64 port instead... Sure, it would cost alot more but I doubt if that system would ever have any of problems the SNES had. But instead, they chose to port it on the obsolete and underpowered SNES anyway simply because it was still a very popular system at the time; which meant that it would actually sell alot easier?
