Another film from the Bob Mills archive, kindly donated by his daughter Paula. Mills was a TV personality in San Diego for many years in the 1960s-70s era. Much of that time he was at Channel 8, and any of those films will be posted on their CZcams channel. Anything he did after leaving Channel 8 will be posted here.
This is a 1957 interview that Mills conducted with Nannie Doss, aka The Giggling Granny. Doss poisoned and murdered 11 family members from the 1920s-1950s. In 1954 she was convicted of one of those murders and sentenced to life in prison. She died of leukemia in prison in 1965.
As far as I can tell, this film is unique, as I can't find another like it online. As such, given the notoriety of the interviewee, I've put a watermark on the film. If you're interested in licensing this film for use in a your documentary, contact me at phix@optigan.com.
The sound quality of the optical recording on the film itself leaves something to be desired, the microphone having been placed too far away from the subjects. I've cleaned it up as best I could, but it's still rather poor, so I've added subtitles to clarify what's being said. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
The way she looks at the interviewer out of the corner of her eyes and not directly.
Yeah…it’s very creepy and offputting, but it’s kind of fascinating how her aura is at the same time intimidating but also timid.
Right!
It's her good side ✨️
@@Chrrinfjshe's creepy asf!
Is it because she has bad eyesight
Notice how when she says that she did not kill her husband she glances quickly directly at the camera, then back at the interviewer
Wow. Just wow. I’ve heard her story told many times, podcasts etc, but have never heard her speak.
Did she really poison her husbands?
To be fair Ive been looking for detailed interviews as to get her side of things.
@@toitoitoy 4 husbands and also accused of murdering 2 of her own babies, 2 grand babies, 1 sister, her mother and 1 of her mother-in-laws. All by poisoning except for her grandbabies, which apparently were killed with other more gruesome methods.
I’m just listening to a podcast right now (again) about Nannie! Totally forgot about her, I’ve listened to maybe 100-200 different killers/serial killers over the years, can’t keep up anymore haha! She definitely looks and sound very very.. scary 🥲
@@toitoitoy Yes
Gives me anxiety how sweet she seems
Creepy how detached she seems.
Certainly not as smiley and giggly all the time as I had pictured her to be based on all her nicknames.
Obviously because this dumbass only started regretting it when she didn’t want to be in prison anymore
Prison will do that to a person
When she says, "No, sir" at 1:05, you can see she has a hint of a smile.
A very peculiar manifestation of psychopathy
Im pretty sure it was actually cause she got hit in the head while she was riding a train when she was younger
When she says “that’s right “.
She is not facing him head-on like she is trying to hide from the interviewer.
This fascinating. I never thought I’d see an interview of Nannie Doss. I always wanted to get a glimpse of how she came across irl as opposed to articles written about her. Thanks for the upload! 👍
Wow! I've read about her, but never heard her speak. Thank you Soo much for posting
Notice she didn't swat that fly on her shoulder. 🤔
"Wouldn't hurt a fly" 👹
I would swat that fly, and still not murder
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol 🦟😭
I see why she's called "Giggling Granny", she's smiling! That's disturbing!
That’s just about the creepiest woman I’ve seen. Her eyes are creepy, sizing him up even when she smiles. I tried to see if it was the b&w playing tricks but no it’s all her.
Agreed! She's scary ASF
The micro smile when she said she didn't commit the crimes
Nothing to smile about at that moment, but she smiles engagingly. Manipulating.
I think that's a really clever interview. You can see the side eye barely changes when she talks about factual information and music and sermons, when she says she blames her for being there because she believed the lawyer to plead guilty. When she talks about the crime her whole demeanour and eye contact changes. Fascinating
Hrrr, shes really creepy especially at the end of the video. That look is chilling, there is something predatory in her. Notice how she always looks down when asked about her husbands deaths. Otherwise, she keeps her eyes on the interviewer the whole time. Very fascinating clip!
Her face is always tilted, eyes looking at him sideways. Gives off the impression that she was hiding a part of herself
Bombastic side eye 😮scary
She creepy sitting up there looking crazy
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
She seems not really stable... My opinion
Part of that might be the accident she had on a train when she was little. She had a pretty bad head injury and they think that and the abuse was obviously a terrible combo. The side eye is creepy
She almost gigled when ask about reports on newspaper
So cool to hear her voice. I wish we can get Mary Ann Cotton.
looks like she wanna offer the guy a drink after the interview
Somebody remarked that Ms Doss was the shrewdest criminal he'd ever met. I'd say that opinion was spot on.
The face of evil......they do not look like monster
@peterbradshaw That is what is so scary about this woman. To look at her, you would never in a million years suspect that she would do such a thing.
@@Farrah300 Ted Bundy, even when a mountain of evidence was produced against him, smiled and said he was innocent for a long time. What innocent man escapes twice? Later he confessed to all of it and more.................lotsa killers maintain innocence in prison.
Oh, wow.
my question is whyd she kill her mom sister grandkids and kids like what
She had a head injury when she was 7 and it caused damage to the frontal lobe which is directly responsible for empathy. With no empathy for other people it became easy for her to start poisoning them. And because she’d gotten away with it for as long as she did she started to get careless which is what lead to her being caught.
@@williamstevens5599 She also collected life insurance payouts on most of her victims.
Those sharp eyes 🥶
I did a paper on her in college her story is crazy and by looking at her at this moment yeah she aint wrapped to tight
My mom was related to her last husband. And she did poison them.
Other people have great kings and celebrities and presidents on their family trees....I have Nannie Doss. 😕
She's my 4th cousin 2x removed. Gadzooks! 😬
Like a caged animal.
She seems nice. 😐
Institutionalized…..
Lord God, please stop having things come through the phone.
I'm sorry if these are wrong to watch?
I wondered if jezebel was responsible and she started talking about god...
...Theres an actress in donnie darko that reminds me of her.
I don't think she did it. I think they set her up to claim guilty, she did and it backfired on her but then she saw the attention she got and realized that no one believed her anyway so she went with it. Made her famous. I have such a strong feeling towards this woman.
Ain’t no way you this ..
She confessed she killed her family
