    I agree with Fowler he reminds me often if Patrick Roy. I saw him play live and I really saw lots of that his style and his way of thinking. He is a very special player.

    Davidson, Farrell, and Kidney are not the fastest skaters but they make up for it with keen hockey sense, a great shot and competitiveness. All three are proven clutch players who should help Laval in their second season as they develop man-muscle. I am hoping all three will be pleasant surprises next season. Cheers

    Good video and coverage of your Hab choices.. for me we will see many changes within this group as they grow in man strength. Beck and Kapanen are both 200 ft players with good hockey IQ. Exciting. Hutson is small especially in height against NHLers. Time will tell. Cheers

      @@enortap Davidson, Farrell, and Kidney.. All three have played center and quarterbacked the offense on previous teams. The two sharpshooters are 22 yr left shot Jared Davidson (5'11" 188 pounds) and 22 yr left shot Sean Farrell, (5'9" 181 pounds). while 21 yr left shot Riley Kidney (5'11" 180 pounds) is more known as a passer thru tight seams... They are not the fastest skaters but they make up for it with keen hockey sense, a great shot and competitiveness. I should add that Sean Farrell has an explosive stride mechanism when he sees open space. All three got their feet wet in Laval this past season with limited ice time. I agree with Reinbacher being a great pic. He does have a few adjustments to make though. For me the biggest one would be over comitting. I would say that its expected, but he does tend to be over aggressive at times. Needs to pick his spots better, and let the play come to him a little more often. Not sure why Engstrom is there. Im wondering what you guys think of both Florian Xhekaj and Luke Tuch. No ones talking about them.

    • @HockeyNationLiveShow
      @HockeyNationLiveShow  Před 3 dny +1

      engstrom is a solid Defensemen. Better than Harris overall. 6'2" bigger than Harris and Struble... Now i see him like third pairing in the NHL. Remind me a lot Kulak... High ceiling for him second pairing but i have some reserve about it. Xhekaj and Tuck... Tuch: i saw him many times. He is getting older already. Covid helps him to stay four years in the NCAA. Many injuries... I don't see him in the NHL. But i could be wrong... XHEKAJ like his brother they BEAT ODDS all the time against them. This upcoming season will help us to know more about XHekaj. He should play in Laval. Hope my reply is okay for you

    Since HuGo took over, they have acquired several very good players...but still lacking those elite game breakers. This is why the 2024 draft is so important. This is basically the last chance to acquire elite talent since Montreal should not draft top10 anymore for several years...time will tell !!!

      Exactly @powers1500 ! That is why Lindstrom with his herniated disc problem raises red flags to me for #5. Got to be sure to go with a safe pick like an Iginla.

    Mailloux! Mailloux! Mailloux! 👊💪🤜🤛 Mailloux will be better than Reinbacker. He's got more grit, he is more hungry, dominant and he's got an elite Slap Shot. The Habs failed again. They picked a second pair defenceman last year, in a year stacked with talented forwards. This year is stacked with better defenseman than Reinbacker but now the are stuck choosing a forward. They will pick Lindstrom who is a future Josh Anderson with back problems.

    • @markolarabie6685

      Some people have Reinbacher ranked right there with the top 6 d-men from this year...

    • @zblip22
      @zblip22 Před 8 dny

      @@markolarabie6685 I appreciate the optimism, but some other scouts had Reinbacker ranked 15th. The Habs power play has been ranked 30th for the last 10 years. To this day I don't understand what went through Hughes mind when they chose a shut down defenseman, when they could have had Mitchkov, Benson, Leonard etc.. We already have too many d-Men.. wtf was that about? I'm sorry but any way you look at it, Reinbacker was a bizarre decision, probably a political one, due to the Ukraine situation (?).. They passed on Michkov and couldn't justify taking a lower ranked forward so they went for a defenseman, knowing they would never be compared directly throughout their careers. It was such a bad move, Carey Price couldn't even remember Reinbacker's name on stage. This will haunt the Habs forever. Michkov will produce 100 points per year but we'll have " A solid second pairing d-Man with a great attitude, who can play many minutes!" I'm sorry, this isn't a 5 overall pick..

      @@zblip22 Don't think I'm being optimistic- just sharing reports I've heard on how Reinbacher would rank in this year's draft. I think many Habs fans were surprised by last year's pick but we know many other teams were trying to trade up to number 5 to get him. I highly doubt that Habs would let geo politics affect their pick- there were other reasons why they didn't pick Michkov...I was a huge Benson fan though too...If you go back and watch our coverage last year- you'll see he was my guy.

      @@markolarabie6685 I guess time will tell if the Habs were right about judging the attitude of a 17 y.o. Russian kid who pulverized Ovechkin's records in the minors. When I was 17, I was a bit of a dick, imagine if I was seen as the next generational superstar since I was 13 y.o... I would be the biggest dick in the world. I think the Habs were too quick to cancel a super talent like him for having "an attitude"... This doesn't make sense.

      Not to burst your bubble, but unless Mailloux adds a significant dose of quickness, he will remain a fringe NHL player.
