4K HDR | Walking from Taipei "Treasure Hill Artist Village" to the Gongguan Creative Flea Market

This time, on a holiday, I visited Taipei's Treasure Hill Artist Village, which I hadn't been to in many years, and then walked to the nearby Gongguan Creative Flea Market for treasure hunting.
Treasure Hill:
Located beside the riverside in Gongguan, the "Treasure Hill International Art Village" is a historical settlement characterized by illegally constructed buildings from the 1960s and 1970s. These buildings are nestled among the hills and along the river, forming winding alleys and staircases that follow gentle slopes. They create a natural landscape with a scattered settlement pattern, presenting a unique appearance typical of Taiwan's settlements.
In addition to the designated historical site, the Treasure Hill Temple, dedicated to the main deity Guanyin and with a history of two to three hundred years, there are ruins extending along the riverbank, forming a historical cross-section when viewed from the green space below the settlement. This layout offers clues to understanding the rich historical texture and diverse spatial structure of Treasure Hill. For those who wish to enjoy the river view, they can also cycle along the riverside bike path from Xindian all the way to the Danshui River, enjoying the pleasure of riding in the wind.
In 2004, Treasure Hill was officially registered as a historical settlement and preserved in its original form with an emphasis on community revitalization. The early messy hillside settlements have been transformed into a cultural and artistic destination. Currently, there are 14 artist studios, as well as rehearsal rooms, exhibition spaces, and outdoor performance spaces. Upon entering the village, creative landscaping and murals are visible everywhere, and there are many studios and shops where visitors can explore creative products. However, some parts of the area are still privately occupied and not open to the public.
Gongguan Creative Flea Market:
Located opposite the parking lot of the Taipei Water Park - Liangshui Ancient Site Square (enter from Lane 160, Section 3, Tingzhou Road), near National Taiwan University, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and National Taiwan Normal University, as well as many renowned international Chinese language programs. Many students and local residents come here to search for treasures. In addition to selling second-hand clothing, small items, groceries, etc., various daily necessities are also available. Furthermore, the market sells creations by the participants.
Come early to hunt for treasures and come late for bargains!
