small correction: love sat behind rodgers for 3 years, not 2. he was drafted in 2020, was not on the roster as QB3 in 20-21, was QB2 in 21-22 and 22-23, then started this year in 23-24

As a Patriots fan, I really hope we play Brisset this season. Give Maye a season to adjust and pick up some next level talent next year.
I wouldn't mind if we give Maye a few quarters or even a couple games down the back stretch of the season, depending on how we're doing. But the reality is, we have the weakest roster in the conference now, and Jacoby definitely should be starting to try and get us through this season, 100%
It's better to make the young guy wait a little too long than to send that guy out a little too early.
I think it’s pretty much a given that Brissett will start this season. Pats are a year from being competitive. Considering that and Maye is only 21, I see Maye sitting out the season unless he shows something special in the pre season
I think this is the consensus, Brisset is QB1 until Maye is ready. I doubt Maye will be QB1 in game 1.

I'm a Broncos fan and I freaked out when I saw Bo Nix get picked. There was no way we were going to do well with Zach Wilson starting.
Just hope we finally have our future long term QB

Maye will be better in the long run maybe. But that’s all.
Wouldn't it be better to do poorly for a year with Zach Wilson or Jarrett Stidham starting, in order to clear out the Russell Wilson cap hit and get a better draft pick in 2025? Though if they feel like Nix is better than anyone who'll be realistically available in '25, it's not a bad selection.

Raheem drafting Penix was no surprise. Raheem isn't a frist time HC either, he coached the Bucs from 2009-2011, so we'll see how he does for his second stint

Love this Video! However, On the Pats(as a pats fan), Drake Maye is a project QB that probably won't start day 1. He will probably be a backup to Brissett & have some time to develop. Yes, the O Line is trash as well, but this is the Pats in full rebuild mode now. they got all the pieces they needed from this draft. So I'd say, Maye's situation is a C tier, maybe B tier (but that's a reach).

@@jeremyc9593 Well, their QB situation is gonna be bad short term. Unless they pull off what Green Bay did, I don't see it being positive anytime soon. Denver is also crap as well. But Bo Nix should be turned around quickly by Sean Peyton. Caleb Williams has the talent, but not the coaching & front office (which is questionable). As I've stated, the pats are in full rebuild. So yea, offensive talent is lacking, but building up. Maybe next time read the room before answering.

I personally think Nix with clearly best coach out the all the situations, will succeed the fastest. It might be Caleb or nix I see taking those first glimpses of elite play in the first couple weeks.
The pats got Brissett so Maye shouldn't have to start but you never know Maye might shine.
The patriots are terrible and their fans are spoiled theres a good channce the patriots go 3-6 or worse half way through the first half of the season and the fans will demand brisset be benched. Could ruin maye.

Raheem Morris is not a first time head coach as stated in the video, but he might as well be considering how poorly things went in Tampa Bay. Love that the Falcons guaranteed Cousins over $100 million and spent a Top 10 pick on a guy who was the most ready to play day 1 and will now sit two-three years unless injury. Could also be 26-28 years old before he ever starts. Falcons brain trust is brilliant.
I think it's the worst situation for Michael Penix to be on the Falcons who already have a QB. It's good to have younger guys like JJ McCarthy and Drake Maye sit before getting to start. But Micheal is a guy who should start immediately because of his experience, and personally, I think he's more than capable of being a great NFL QB in his rookie season. The only reason people didn't think he was gonna be picked highly was his age and injury past. But he's been healthy for the last two seasons and I'm not too worried about that. The falcons are one of my favorite teams but I wish they didn't have Kirk Cousins or let someone else pick Mike

The vikings were likely a 10-13 win team with kirk and jefferson not getting injured if jj cant suceed its likely he wasnt good enough in the first place

The penix pick makes sense to me personally, what was dumb was the falcons giving a 36 year old Kirk cousins 180 million fully guaranteed, he won’t even play out that contract

I see no reason Kirk would have signed in ATL if he knew they were gonna take MPJ. He wasn't told. I don't think their HC knew either. The pick made no sense. I feel bad for MPJ because its gonna be a tough locker room for no fault of his own. His situation is gonna be D tier.
KTO has not been following the Patriots closely it seems. Brisset is definitely starting the first few games barring injury or just constant losses. I'm not knocking him btw, creators can't cover every team super close.

1:53 -- I'd say you could call Andrew Luck's initial situation pretty good for a #1 overall pick, considering it was to a Colts team that'd made the playoffs for a then-record 9 seasons from 2002-10. They were only in that draft position ( #SuckforLuck ?) because Peyton Manning missed the whole 2011 season, as opposed to most teams that go from bad to worse until they hit rock bottom to get the top pick.

I don't think bust. He may have a hard time staying healthy. With that offensive line, maybe Washington should keep him from starting for the first 8 games to shield him from a Bryce Drew type beating.

Personally I think giving Daniels a C for his situation in Washington is very generous. One of the worst O-lines and mostly a new coaching staff spells disaster to me

Putting McCarthy’s situation over Caleb’s is mind-boggling. JJettas is incredible but Caleb has 3 #1 receivers and a comparable TE, as well as a proven OC.

Kj Osborn was actually a solid receiver for the Vikings. I think he’ll really help the pats next season
KJ was a WR3, and his celling is lower end WR2. He just doesn't have what you need to be a great WR in the league and the fact that the Vikings are one of the best teams when it comes to developing WRs, and even they stuck him at WR3, even when JJ was out, tells you a lot about KJ.
He was a solid #3.. With JJ and Addison taking the attention of the defense. I liked him but I don't think he will impress much if he has to be a #1 or even #2 receiver

Taking Penix was the right move. Cousins won't win you a Superbowl but he will make sure you won't have another top 10 draft pick for the next 2 years. I agree with them taking Penix and sitting him under the Cousins learning tree. As for his contact. That was what it took to get him Atlanta. If he had taken the 90m 3 year deal with New England, they would of still taken maye and just did the same thing Atlanta is doing.

I think you're drastically underselling the patriots situation
At best Maye is walking into a scenario where the pats have selected their true 1 and 2 at wide reciever who are both complimentary styles to the way he plays vs the worst case scenario where they still have no real offensive playmakers
Either scenario he is getting reps with brand new guys from day one...the same age and potential as him starting from day one of camp...if they all pan out they'll all be in sync

If cut after 6/1 in 2026 (so after 2 years), the dead cap would be $12.5 million in both 2026 and 2027 which is very palatable.
Even if you give Cousins 3 years, then it is a $12.5 million dead cap in only 2027.
Still find it an odd pick, could have traded down if they wanted him so bad imo, but I get it after looking at the contract. Penix could start year 3
I agree with the placements except I would have Drake and Daniels on the same tier. It seems likely to me that Jacoby is the day 1 starter for the Pats.
There is NO SITUATION for any of them. They haven't had no regular seasons snaps yet nor completed no season yet.
