Retired truck driver here, i had to rescue another driver that broke down âmid summerâ hauling for a big box âpetâ store. There were probably thousands of fishâs life in jeopardy that would have been baking in the trailer if someone wouldnât have switched out the tractor. So shipping them doesnât seem all that bad!

unless your the USPS, in my case . i order plants from MO and i live in indiana, that ended up in DC and to my local post office and now they are 65 miles at another post office. something is big time wrong with the USPS ..
I totally trust Danâs fish. I purchased 8 fish in 1 order. Each one in its own bag. The box was insulated and a heat pack was included. Communication during the purchase and shipping was fantastic, and if there is a problem, he immediately takes care of it. I believe his success rate in live arrivals is 98%. Check him out. Oh KG Tropicals is fantastic too. I purchased filters, not fish.

I placed two orders about two weeks apart from Imperial Tropicals in Lakeland, Florida. They ship UPS Next Day Air and arrive by noon the morning after they were shipped to my home in NC. Total of 24 juvenile Mbunas, they all arrived safely and are thriving. Like John and Lisa said, you have to research beforehand. Totally recommend Imperial Tropicals; in fact, he does a live stream most Fridays at noon (eastern time) where he tours his facility and will try to show specific fish that you request to see during the stream.
And yes John, you pronounced my name correctly.
I purchased from there once 4 total fish, 2 died 1 had a deformity and the other not sure the issue I still have the other 2 but they are still small Iâve purchased other fish that are bigger than them now by inches and Iâve had them a year now, I had put them into a grow out tank so they can eat without competition but I put them back in with the others now they are getting bigger but still like Iâve said I have fishes that Iâve had a shorter time that makes them look like babies lol

@@jerrygoebel9152 roughly a couple weeks it wasnât a shipping issue or anything but like I stated one fish was deformed a bit the other seemed normal not sure what was wrong with it but they were very tiny baby fish

I always read bad reviews first. Then the best reviews. I just try to read between the lines
Yeah I prefer to buy in person for the reasons you mentioned. You get to pick out the healthiest and most nicest looking fish, whereas if you are ordering online sometimes you don't know the exact body condition of the fish. The only image of the fish they have are a representative.
But this also depends on the fish, with betta fish they usually show the picture of the exact fish, the same cannot be said for schooling fish.
I ordered 7 GREEN corydoras aeneus, but I received 4 green aeneus and 4 bronze aeneus, and all 4 of the bronze that I received were short bodied deformed fish. I bought from a reputable seller that people hold with high regards, which made be very disappointed that they had to screw up my order.
The only silver lining is that they all arrived healthy and were healthy since day one. But I did not get my money's worth of fish.

Have had really good experiences for the most part buying online. Have used flip aquatics, aquahuna, and aquatic arts. Also have bought a betta from Lisa. Heâs doing great. Was packed well. His name is Sunny. There arenât any pet stores close to me or iâd support them rather than buy online but it is what is. Lots of friends seem surprised when they find out most of my fish have come to me by mail but I say what you guys said âhow do you think the fish get to the store?â Lolâ€
I almost ordered from Aqua Huna but their water is super soft while mine is liquid rock.
@@hummingbird3771 my water is also pretty hard. Iâve found as long as I do a slow drip acclimation about 90% of the time they do well. Flip and aquatic arts are definitely my go to online stores currently. May cost a little more but they have great customer service and have honestly never had an issue with either. Best wishes
I've become quite cynical in my old age so I research ANY purchase these days. Recently I have been doing business with Tampa Bay Cichlids. Great selection of offerings, method of packaging, and customer service. Only had 1 DOA (If you do this enough its gonna happen) which David promptly replaced at no cost to me. Outside of that, all of the other Peacocks are thriving. I highly recommend them. Also, I want to thank John and Lisa! I was out of the hobby for quite some time. Your content refreshed my memory and you have taught me quite lot as well.

I've had 100% success ordering from eBay
Not long ago I bought shrimp online,seller almost 100%positive..should check for what he sold as by look of it he never sold shrimp.
Upon arrival it took 2 days by the way,but they were packed in an envelope ,inside there was tapper box (the one they give u at take aways shops) wrapped in sandwith bag .
In that box a bag with 7dead shrimp without any plant or moss to hold on to.
I was fuming to say the least. Felt so bad for those shrimp

Of the eight tanks I have, seven are stocked with fish/shrimp purchased in line. IMO the fish online are much more healthier.
I would love to be able to buy from you guys but I'm in the UK watched you both for years love your content . Probably like prime time you one of the honest creators out there. Unlike certain creators who (cough) never loose fish , until they get called out and what ya know they do loose fish , or even worse creators who do beautifull tanks then a few weeks later the tanks redone and fish back in the store just to make content , at least when you guys move fish you make sure you have space for fish if anything was to go wrong , or want a change
Had a Bearded Dragon get trapped in a surprise snow storm for a week, popped out of the box and started eating. I was so lucky on that one.

I'm glad you discussed shipping in the winter and hummer, I was wondering about this because of the heatwave encompassing so much of the USA--here it's 75 degrees--but it can get hot sometimes, so would it be best to order fish on the spring and autumn or does it really matter--not need to answer, just brought that question to mind--also, it's Spo-can (Spokane) WA--or Spookaloo at times in the '70's (Expo 74) .
I would buy online any day vs local store. My local stores look like breeding grounds for disease
My guppies had babies 2day Holy crap there's so many đł how do i feed them ?? Mom's in a little floating box so she wont eat them...
You can use a flake with high protein. Like krill and crumble it so it's a powder. The babies will eat it up

I purchased some fish online. Shipment delayed a day. UPS's fault. Lost 2 out of 5 of the fish. Totally not the sellers fault.

Bought 5 khuli loaches online. They arrived in a small plastic bag wrapped in a single sheet of paper in a cardboard box. And that was it. No insulation, no heat pad and nothing on the box to say there were live animals inside. Needless to say, 2 were DOA, and 2 more died within the hour.

One thing that kind of turns me off from buying online is the uncertainty and high prices I love to go to the store and see what Iâm buying but my stores I usually go to get good selections from time to time but mostly the same ol Iâm looking for more u unique color peacocks now that my space is getting limited

In the Netherlands, animals sold by legitimate companies/dealers have a one year warranty as required by law.
Yeah, that leads to lots of discussion and potential lawsuits...
They're going to change it back to a six month warranty as I've understood it.
I'm still learning I lost my koi betta female cause stupid me I put her in my just set up tank with a brand new filter so I clean the tank and I'm just letting it filter ate with no fish so when I get a new fish it will have some bacteria

My local Post office won't deliver fish to your house. They keep them there so they don't get too much of a temperature change in the mailbox.
On reviews I always look for the negative reviews to see what they say and base it on that. Not all negative are valid or credible
The only time I give a bad review is only after I have given the vendor an opportunity to make it right. If it is something I did wrong, then itâs on me and not the seller.

I don't think the controversy about Sound of Freedom is about the movie. The controversy is about the main actor, who is Qanon, and spreads conspiracy theories about elite cabals making adrenachrome out of babies and drinking it. He was spreading that theory on the press tours for the movie. The movie itself is criticized because its based on a true story but wildly exaggerated to make the hero super human and more entertaining. Also, organizations that combat human trafficking don't like is portrayal of human trafficking in the movie because the situation in the movie is not how most people fall into human trafficking.
