  • Guyanese President Mohammed Irfaan Ali has exposed the hypocrisy of the BBC and the western countries over the issues of climate change. The content of his interview to BBC HardTalk programme has gone viral.
Rifat Jawaid, who worked with the BBC for over 12 years as a senior editor, argues that the presenter of the programme, Stephen Sackur, let himself down as a journalist. Rifat says that the latest editor of HARDtalk was problematic in many ways.

Absolutely brilliant channel. I'm from white British working class background.
I love that the argument and perpetuated western political class narrative is being challenged and exposed for what it is: hypocrisy and coersion.
Is the Western manufactured "climate change" agenda a scheme to halt or hinder further flourishment, development and empowerment of the "Global South"?
Is Israel just a brutal neo-colonialist project to maintain perpetual war and instability in the Levant/Middle East?
Why does Britain hold on to Gibraltar? Why is Yemen's stability and infrastructure continually undermined by western interference?
Why in Western democracies(sic,) are foreign "donors" permitted to "donate" (buy policy?) in supposedly independent and major poltical parties pre-election?

British working class too, but also raised in the Caribbean (St Lucia!), family in the Caribbean, etc
And I love that you’re working to really analyse and deconstruct the narratives you’ve been fed!
I do really REALLY want to give you a word of advice, though - this period can make it very very easy to just decide everything is a lie, because nowadays, you *will* be able to find a mountain of “evidence” and “logical arguments” both for AND against any issue at all. But that’s not what you should be looking for! You should be trying to *understand* what’s actually happening, don’t just absorb the loudest opinions, actually *think* about what you are reading, if it makes sense, if it’s logical, ethical, reasonable.

(splitting up the reply since I’ve found YT tends to evicerate long comments!)
So one of your points, around climate change being a conspiracy, there’s no evidence to support that at all! Climate Change is and has been a genuine, known, scientifically backed (by research done outside the western powers!!). HOWEVER, climate change being real doesn’t mean the West doesn’t use it to condemn and place sanctions on the Global South in ways that are both hypocritical and entirely unreasonable and outsized. Leaders and academics in the Global South are making their voices known more and more everyday to fight this. Climate change doesn’t have to be a hoax for the Western Powers to find a way to disadvantage the Global South.
And that’s just a really quick example! Just as best as you can, stick to the facts and then put opinion on too of it as a foundation, and try not to use an opinion to justify “fact”! It’s easy to slip into, believe me it is, but it’s honestly just as easy to sit for a moment and consider!

It's not poor people they're against - it's everyone who is not part of the old establishment. It's you English people who are helping to perpetuate the BBC and their ilk. These people are evil beyond words. They want the world to be like it was 100s of years ago where "those and such as those" ruled over everyone. The Bullingdon boys were are big part of this and the BBC has always been a place where many of them end up once their careers in politics are over. You English keep voting Tory who are the bovver boys of the evil people running the world. Look at the laws that are enacted by the Tories and ask yourself if you know of anyone who asked for these. Many laws are enacted on the back of a single instance of a crime whereby the Police claim that someone cannot be prosecuted fully because there is no specific law or the maximum sentence is inadequate so they make a new law to imprison the entire population who 99.999999% of have never committed such a crime. The trick they always use to enact these crazy laws is to name it after the victim so that everyone feels sorry for them and can't see how unfair the new law actually is. They should be changing the existing law to carry a harsher sentence rather than create a new law entirely - we've got too many laws as it is!!! The BBC promote new laws and campaign for them because the evil people behind the BBC want everyone terrified to open their mouths to speak. The only way to stop the evil BBC is to get rid of the Tories and get new laws to remove the powers that the BBC have that they should not - like the PO. The BBC needs to be erased because they will never change.
