A few corrections:
Camel is NOT a Canterbury band. They are from Guildford and have never been part of the Canterbury scene. Some Canterbury musicians (eg Richard Sinclair from Caravan) joined them in the late 70s/early 80s.
Rhayader and Rhayader Goes to Town (the last section) is very early on in the album. The other 2 are later on the first side.
Rhayader was not French. He lived on the Essex marshes and found the injured snow goose there. He took his boat to France as part of the Dunkirk evacuation and died there.
The Snow Goose is my favourite album of all time and Camel is my favourite band.

I have a few DVD's of "The Old Grey Whistle Test", it was such a great show. It reminds me of "The Beat Club" from Germany. Fantastic video Kyle, big thumbs up and rock on :)

I've been trying to think of this other show from that era I remember. Something besides bandstand, train, and solid gold. Something that had bands awhile I'd see on Saturdays at midnight or so.

Excellent guitar. I felt like I was taken back to the 70s. That keyboard part sounded like a 70s version of U2 (streets have no name). Add a tad of Steely Dan and Led Zeppelin. Good reaction.
