Isn't it incredible how they just appeared and now my life feels so much better.
I know!!!! I heard about the from Harry Styles! Totally in luv with their album
My life has been better with them in it. Discovered them with Wet Dream back in March/April
I only just found out over night!
I feel the same.
Is it just me or does the second song on "live on the porch" give out a Janis Joplin vibe!?
The joy in Rhian's eyes when she looks at Hester is unbelievable
Hi!!!

I really dig the way they looking at each other and then laugh. It’s a totally positive connection between the band members. No doubt that turns into good music
It's partly because they've played this song about a billion times at this point and it bores them
@@BlueHen123 I really don’t think so
@@BlueHen123 eh no. They crack up loads during tons of performances of this song. It's a joke between them. You never seen girls giggling at something silly? 🤔
I think they just enjoy their stage roles. There is a bit comedy in their shows, it seems so natural, i like it very much ;) I would love to laugh my ass out with them on stage ;)
They are married
I love their humor; that ability to not take everything so seriously, the ability to just enjoy themselves and have fun with it. It feels good.
I particularly like their humour.
Exactly. There is a humor underlying the music, but the music is good. I can’t recollect the last time I heard this kind of thing.
@@funwithpliers they so remind me of a younger Edina & Patsy from Ab-Fab 😹😹 also reminds me of this gem from 1982:

Wish John Peel could hear them. Suspect he'd play chaise longue twice in a row
Yep definitely a Peel type of band!

At the wrong speed as well.
They're a bit too old for John Peel, the raging paedo.
he would stand in the first row to make sure he gets on her chaiselongue 😉
I'm a 3000 year old elf lich necromancer and I can really appreciate how this music hails back to the most ancient roots of your human music traditions in an energetically appealing manner. It really takes me back to the 90's. like 293 B.C specifically, when that plague hit rome and so the senate built a temple dedicated to Asclepius. Man that was a good year.
this is my new favourite meme, thank you.
😂
Exactly what I was thinking!
🤘
I'm an omni-dimensional entity that views your entire "universe", from beginning to end, as you would view a fleeting solitary spark jumping from the fire to the hearth's edge.
This music reminds me of a time before time, before time - but more specifically of the times before time's time. Such a good time.
Can we just stop and acknowledge how good of a band this is. That is all five of them!
I was thinking the same as I watched. Those guys are so into the sound that they shouldn't be session musicians, they should be a part of the band.
@@krashd i think they kind of are in the way solo pop artists will have the same backing band for like 35 years. So it's like Rhian and Hester are the core duo, then Josh Ellis and Henry are the band.
I’m sitting on a rainy beach in NZ and singing along😊
Excuse me?
@@VAL3NTIN3 what?
"I just need a bubble bath to set me on a higher path" truly captures a relatable feeling. Love Wet Leg!
Bubble baths are one of life's great mysteries! Sitting in a bath tub of hot water is enjoyable but sitting in a bath tub of hot water that just happens to have foamy bubbles on the surface is like being in wonderland. Someone needs to do a study on why bubbles can turn a routine cleansing experience into something magical.
If you haven't stuck a wad of bubbles on your chin and pretended it was a beard then you haven't lived!
@@krashdYeah, right? After my wife has found her higher path, I’ll jump in and we share the bubble bath experience for a few minutes, then I am alone in there, finding my own higher path while she dries off behind me. Sometimes we don’t even talk. It’s magical.
And kids, get your mind out of the gutter. It’s pure bubble pleasure, other pleasures happen elsewhere.
Glad to see the seafoam green Jazzmaster back - the prettiest guitar in the world.

Every single person in this band is just absolutely locked in together and keeping it simple. I’m so fucking fed up with musicians overplaying everything and forgetting about what makes a good song. This is a masterclass of providing deep support for the vocals.
I'm a 47 year old dude always looking for new music and I find this so refreshing. I played it for my wife and caught her jamming to it the other day. Great Job!!!
I’m 66 and this has been my favorite band for about 7 months now

I'm 46 and I caught their set in DC last month. Great live band, tons of energy and really bring the crowd along for the ride.
I'm 465 years old and I crawled back out of my grave to leave a youtube comment on the Wet Leg channel
I hear so many great influence, but they sound new and uniquely themselves. Loving it! Rockin fo sho!
The live act is sounding really tight now. I gotta see this band live
You are 100% right. I was amazed at how strong and tight musically the are. (Saw them in Brooklyn) Also Rhian's voice is extraordinary. I think this band is going to be knocking them dead for a while now.
Been lucky enough to see them live twice at very small venues and they are incredible. Great music, wonderful personalities and they are having so much fun!
I was born in Northern Europe during the early Neolithoic Period and am somewhere between 5000 and 6000 years old. When not fashioning funnel-necked beakers from wood-fired clay or engaging in sociologically advanced burial practices I'm listening to Wet Leg's new album. Keep it up!

Life begins at 50. We rock!
56, and this band is the best thing since Wolf Alice
The Porch is the centre of the Wet Leg cinematic universe
Everything about this band is great. I also want to shout out to the drummer. I've been seeing other live videos and he's definitely keeping the fun antics in time. Super-heavy and tasteful drumming. The man has been studying some Grohl and Bonham and doing his own thing with it.
Even got the Bonham haircut!
super heavy?! are you high. do you know anything about heavy drums
@@ftlightning50 Sure do! Do you know that heavy can mean different things in music and not just what your interpretation of it is?
@@goober8798 mean, I'm gonna have to agree with the other guy here... the drumming here is tight, and it sounds great. But I wouldn't really describe it as heavy, and I don't get much of Grohl or Bonham here... well, at least not more than you are bound to get with any current rock drummer. Just my opinion tho
@@rodriguezelfeliz4623 I feel ya. But IiRC, Bonham didn't hit as hard as he did "well" with reall big/deep drums.
That authentic look and big smile made this old guy love this band even more than I've been digging them for the past two weeks.
I'm 506 year old snail and have never heard music before because I'm deaf but this is certainty a nipple for the masses. I actually listened to this, then commented

Don't snails only live for two to fifteen years? You seem quite long-lived for a mollusc.

Love it when they look at each other & crack a sweet smile & laugh, 😁 & the way Rhian seems to sing the songs slightly different each time I watch one of their live videos, I think it's called enjoying a bit of improvisation, just awesome 👌
they are living in the moment, having fun performing together and reading each other's vibes during their performances - it is infectious.

I love how hester is so sweet and quiet but her guitar is what gives her a voice in every song.. I love the grunge tones that she adds to the vibes

Superb. Best band in years. All members playing their part to the max. A great collection of innovative songs. Proper music, proper singing. But working oh so hard. Please don't burn out!
Just a band having a fuckin' great time, releasing unpretentious, fun music accompanied by original and amusing videos which is just what we need right now in this fucked up world! Thank you Wet Leg.
Fun for 10 minutes, tops. Then it just gets tiresome.
Believe me, bands like this could save us all for the auto-tune - pro-tools induced hell we're in today.
This is the first time I have heard Wet Leg, and somehow I find myself transported back to the early 90s, and pulled into some nostalgia that really shouldn't be there.
I have no words to express how much i love this band
Sounds like the better parts of the 90s. Love yall.
Yep. The Breeders and Belly and I’m here for it.
Learn to spell.
yep defs having a Gen X geek out on them haha
I love how these songs got me back to the '90s indie rock bands. I still have my old CDs, bands like Elastica, DHC, Pavement, Pixies, and Sonic Youth, I'm so glad I stop to see the Dior show and found you guys!
Im ready to go...Cant Fight the.........you know it

If you told me they were Northern European rather than British I would believe it.
What a band, full props to the bass player, he rocks.
I can't get enough of this set. Have listened to this set at least 5 times today.
Good to hear Hester's vocal contributions as they were meant to be heard - excellent audio here!
their debut album is, for me, the best feel good record of the year so far and i doubt it will be topped.
thanks Wet Leg!!!
The best band, and the best songs I've heard in many years
"Is your muffin buttered? Would you like us to assign someone to butter your muffin? Excuse me? What?"
These lyrics hit the hardest
That was excellent - I can’t wait to dance to these folks live
Can’t wait to see them in September at the Truman in Kansas City!
The best band for a long time, everything is so tight, lyrics, hooks, the band are all good, the girls have that cheekiness and the drummer is Animal reincarnated....i love Wet leg...xx

@@gmantramp404 well mister g man tramp I don't think it has to do with skill per say more the nuances and the feeling he portrays to the audience Bob Dylan wasn't by any means considered a good singer but we all like him for some reason, just like one person will say something and no one will listen and then the next person will say the same thing and be adored for there words
The entire band works so well and they all have great chemistry. I think they should make the 3 lads proper members and become an official 5 piece
well that's up to them, right?
Henry - You rock!
Incredible mix and tight band!! Definitely a throw-back mid to late 80's dreamy synth-pop punk meets Courtney Barnett vibe! Never heard of them before today but dig every song on this porch session! They should open for/tour with Cannons!, Wolf Alice, Jonathan Bree, Chet Faker, Dope Lemmon, et al!! Gotta hope that their aggressive Intenational tour schedule doesn't kill the joy and suck the blood energy from their creativity! Wishing them well and hoping they can stop and smell the roses of their sweet success and stay in the groove and have some healthy fun!
Yes Courtney Barnett vibe for sure . Been thinking this for days
What a lovely comment. Thank you for brightening my day by reading that. ♥ ☀ ✌️ From 🇮🇪
They definitely have Joy Division vibes. The bassist has definitely listened to his share of Peter Hook. Nice to see these kids keeping rock alive.
@@caneyebus lol I was thinking that the other day after I listened to Get Ready for first time in ages.
Unfortunately I lost everything in a fire some years ago but back in late 90s I would pick up 80s new wave, synthpop, gothy vinyl for literally like 4 for 2.50! So cheap. I can still see the hundreds of fingerprints on the black Sisters of Mercy records.
I had a ton of Factory, 4AD and Mute records.
I'd a single of Blue Monday with the fancy fold out sleeve. Apparently they lost money on that single because of that! I'd tons of stuff by Depeche Mode, Cocteau Twins, New Order, OMD,Human League, The Cure, Sisters, The Mission, Bowie, Jesus&Mary Chain, The Fall, PIL, Damned etc... I had a copy of The Cure '17 Seconds' and whoever owned it had pritt sticked in loads of reviews and articles about the album from the music trades of the time.
As much as I would love to get a vinyl collection again, it's just unbelievably expensive. Sure the records are remastered and everything looks and sounds better but I can't justify the price! Back then the indy record shops survived on bootlegs and moving shed loads of vinyl for cheap. Everyone was into MiniDisc and cd then.
I'll stick to FLAC and maybe get a vinyl or two of my favourite albums to frame or something!
I love that guitar…..
My new favorite band.❤❤
I love this band so much!
Makes me want to be in a band again
Probably the best I've heard these songs sound so far. 👍
Completely agree with you on this. It's so good, I would be interesting in having a recording of this.
Words can't do what this music is doing to my ears. Nice times ahead for after listening.
😉
Wet Leg, your music either makes me happy or makes me feel a lot better about being sad. Either thing works.
It's really good to see and hear this live performance on the porch. I've loved all of the music I've heard from you. I'm in my 60s and have always loved good rock music. I had started to think maybe there wasn't any rock music left in the world, but then there you were, doing rock music so real, so right, and so fun, like the easiest thing possible.
Please don't let fame mess it up. Don't let social media bother you. People on media can be really negative and all that, but they can also be the same kind of honest that rock music is; where they won't say it if they don't feel it. As your popularity builds, you might start to see comments from people who don't really get what your music is about...but remember what it is just to have fun making your music, and don't concern yourself with those who don't get it. Whether you make your music for 20 years or 20 hours or 20 minutes, I'm going to feel happy and fortunate to hear it and to see how happy you are to play it.
I'm a 7000 year old albino weresloth and these songs really take me back to the time when the kids wouldn't stop wearing cabbages on their heads. Good tunes!
Oh man! That takes me back. Cabbage on the head is so cringe now, but we thought it was bussin back then!
Love this band! The band that so many of us have waited for!

This is probably the best music vid on CZcams. It’s just so right. I particularly like this version of Too Late Now - it’s the prevalence to the siren from the synth that stands it above the album track; somehow it adds jeopardy and crisis. Really like to play supermarket on the car stereo and me an my wife do the weekend shop (the irony)😂. Also the guitar bit in the middle of Too late now really adds something that somehow makes it better than the album version in my opinion. Great work Wet Leg. Anything new on the horizon????
