when holding the blade and turns, about half a turn frirun is ok I think you should have bought a new rotor and rubber bushings and new axle or perhaps a new pump head. 8 years very much, it sounds like it's dead.
Your first filter media is at the bottom, you've got your fine media first. I think it's a terrible design that the dirty side of the sponge is at the bottom so when you lift it out the crap washes back into the water below.i love pipes on eheim but I think fluval are much better and more powerful.
Question, how much play do you have on your impeller blade when your just holding the blade? Half turn or less? Or just a slight play? I've had this intermittent knocking sound which doesn't sound like it originates from the actual filter but the knock is really loud if I place my ear on the side of the tank. I feel bad for my fish. I'm wondering if it is the actual impeller. The axle and rubber bushings are good. Filter is approx 8 years old. I don't think its any vapor lock. Any idea? Thanks
Mario Dion I would like to know this as well.. (I know the video is a couple of years old). The only thing I can think of is that this is a cheap replacement for the middle rubber ring that connects the baskets. Maybe it provides an even better seal and thus provides more flow?
filter media should be coarse, fine, then bio, nearly every video on you tube does the simple mistake of putting it in reverse, unbeliviable
