your vids really help me out, man, since i'm a "suburban rapper" and don't live in a "rap community" or something like that. So thank you for teaching us fellow rappers all this nice stuff, and keep up the good work!
step 2 is the most important step in my opinion.. this and knowing what you REALLY like.. I see too many people not having their own opinion and absorbing other opinions on ''what´s hot right now''.. free thinking is crucial as an artist !
i never comment on videos but it was like this video was made for me. thanks drew, this really helped me get out of a rut wirh my music. love your channel, longtime listener, first time commenter! u the man drew.
before I found Drews channel I was making tracks for fun and everything I made was complete trash but since watching Drew I feel like his videos have helped me understand rap and helped me evolve... Honestly don't understand how he hasn't got more subs
Master MC RULE #720: Both. Great song lyrics can come even without music/beats. The key is to go back, and sync your flow/cadence/delivery to the beat. Good examples of flow-to-beat sync: Jay-Z, Wale, Biggie, Snoop, Eminem...and the likes. I don't care who you are OR, who your TOP 5 are--they ALL know how to RIDE A BEAT!! Unless of course your TOP 5 are: Base God(who ACTUALLY CAN RAP, but became famous "spoof rappin"*), Ugly God, Soulja Boy, Slim Jesus and Chief Keef. Have fun and play with different rhyme patterns and schemes--it only makes you better and gives you the flexibility to rap over any style of production. Took me years to get NICE to the point of people complimenting me, liking both my written and off the top bars, and asking me when I was commercially release my music. Be patient young Jedi. 50% of the battle is not being afraid to make a fool of yourself TO YOURSELF, until you're DOPE ENOUGH to at least rank wit the some of your fave rappers(who are possibly already PLATINUM*). Its not easy, however neither is getting a 6 pack, let alone an 8 pack, nor is making a 1/4 mil a year in your spare time either. Practice makes perfect. Study, display, and repeat. Simple, when you thhink about Peace family!!!
It's some songs out there that everyone knows the lyrics to and when people hear it they love to recite it. It's stays in your head, how do you write raps like that? Like for example I use to like to perform Lloyd banks victory verse, of course Biggie
my last few were 3am and my darling, and I can come up with my own lyrics and rap them in that style and with those instumentals, but I already know that if I do that I'll be an 'shady copy' which sucks, because my mind thinks stupid things that I can turn into something else, but I'd just look like a copy. do you have a video to fix this or can you make one? thanks
He defo already has those... I needed serious help with that stuff and I came across one of Drews video over a year ago now and it completely transformed me
Hey Drew! What do you consider makes a whack rapper or a whack rap song/album/ep/lp/mixtape and give examples of them and what we can learn from them and stuff.
this is going to sound stupid as hell, but I literally wrote my first rap today. I'm a metal guy, but I've been exploring rap for a couple years and have grown fond of Mac Miller and his beats. what kind of beats are those classified under?
Alfonso Flores yeah thats a fairpoint i have been trying to post videos but i have been strugglng with some personal stuff lately but i will try to post as soon as possible
+shubham Goswami i am afraid that i might go down quick . Like other artist they cant top their earlier works. Cause i try to top the last song that i wrote.
+Grab Nuts keep working bro ...i saying once again explore your self there are like trillions of things to rap about bro just explore and be always active in your daily life to observe things going around you ...if u keep observing and exploring yourself and your daily life then u will surely be able to get hell lot of topics to rap about 😉
Almost everyone is rapping about drugs, bitches, guns all that crap but i dont wanna rap about that and my life is boring and if i have to make up my life, im really not creative, so like wtf, i’m going to sleep and try to chill cus i’m sorta pissed
Yo..... I recently started uploading tracks, but I'm getting pretty much no views. I hope the stuff I put out is worth more than the amount of plays I'm getting.....does anybody have any feedback or advice on how to get more views/subs?
+STR8EDGE yea, I definitely know it will take lots of time. It's just weird seeing how hard people like us work, and then to be ignored by even your own peers is a little frustrating. But it just a makes you work even harder, know what I mean?
your vids really help me out, man, since i'm a "suburban rapper" and don't live in a "rap community" or something like that. So thank you for teaching us fellow rappers all this nice stuff, and keep up the good work!
I mumble to the beat to figure out the pattern I wanna use.
I do the same.
Me too.
godamn😂😂
Noah Duke LMFAO yoooo
problem is, some cats keep the mumble, don't actually replace them with actual words... kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
step 2 is the most important step in my opinion.. this and knowing what you REALLY like.. I see too many people not having their own opinion and absorbing other opinions on ''what´s hot right now''.. free thinking is crucial as an artist !

It's some songs out there that everyone knows the lyrics to and when people hear it they love to recite it. It's stays in your head, how do you write raps like that? Like for example I use to like to perform Lloyd banks victory verse, of course Biggie
