Wonderful quartet, as is to be expected considering the participants, all so very musical, so dedicated! And at last a first violinist who does not have to push her way to the front line. And look how important the role of an excellent second violinist can be. I wish you all a great career, whether in or outside the Concertgebouw Orchestra.

A fantastic rendition, sensitively played and visually convincing, though the microphones are too distant and so the sound with more reverb than necessary.

Beethoven was not a romantic, but the apex of late classicism. Schumann knew that perfectly, and did not at all attempt "copying" him. His efforts after his wedding wished to create or consolidate purely romantic forms, which was not an easy issue to solve convincingly. In such forms, Schumann was sometimes equally, never superseded. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤💟💗 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

In particular, he understood the need not to be too long. in these intense pieces. Developing what is unique is not always a good issue.

Let me insist. Schumann understood quite wisly that he could not set the basis off romantic chamber music by "romantizing" Beethoven's late SQ, but by romantizing the lighter but strongly coherent Haydn's and Mozart's SQs. Piano sonatas waree not all att the same issue.
