Tom Jones apparently passed out in the recording booth during the final note, which may be why the pitch drops slightly at the end. He says he closed his eyes and pushed the note super hard and when he opened his eyes the whole world was spinning.

I'm 36, Welsh (me, not The Stig) and I'm ashamed to say I never knew Tom Jones had done a Bond Theme. What a good one it is, now I need to watch the film again - last time was probably in the 90's!
Dynamite song. Dynamite voice. I saw this wonderful movie in Dallas Tx in 1965. I was 16 yrs old. The movies and the music of the 60s can't be beat. Nothing but junk being produced nowdays.
"It's perfectly fine to hit a woman, even repeatedly for any reason you feel like, it's a man's right to do so, as long as you don't do it with a closed fist." Sean Connery: Nah, Connery is in Hell.
I have always enjoyed Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, and You Only Live Twice. But I found Thunderball rather boring in comparison. A lot of it seems excessively goofy or contrived compared to the other Connery movies of this era: the jet pack, the coincidentally staying at the same spa as the villain and then baiting each other with gym equipment hijinks, the fight with the man in drag (containing some really awkward disjointed camera cuts too), the ex machina introduction of a random new character to help Domino escape (the line "Who's he?", "I don't know but he helped me", seems to sum up the amount of effort they put into writing that that). Looking into it, I suspect the problem is that it wasn't written fresh by the same team as did the first three Bond movies, but had to be adapted from a screenplay by an unconnected individual as the result of a legal dispute.
The world was different back then Bond was allowed to be Bond. Nowadays all anyone does is bitch about Connery. He was more of a man than any soy boy Nowadays

Grossly underrated. Even Ian Fleming favored this as the first of the Bond franchise, even before 'Dr. No.'

Dr. No is the real bond theme
