- In the long run, I know this will be one of my most impactful videos, not only to the people who watch it, but to me & the future of my content. This is the most honest, most introspective, & most emotionally driven video I have ever made. Even if I'm not happy with the topic, I am happy with the video itself & I hope everyone who watches it enjoys it as well.
More information on this topic can be found on The FNaF Resources Discord Server.

I think I need to leave a comment clarifying that I am NOT DEPRESSED & AM FEELING FINE. The depressing sound of my voice was really just the vibe of how I felt at the time of recording the video. While editing the video, I began to see ways I could handle this topic with a lot more positivity & I hope to do just that in future videos. If you couldn't tell by that, I'm also NOT QUITTING CZcams OR FNAF, I'm in this crap for the long haul. Thanks everyone for watching & I hope I was able to spark a bit of extra thought about all this.
I don't really miss the old fnaf, neither it's community, i've joined the fanbase around 2016 like you, but i don't let myself be influenced by a large group inside of a community, when the drama about scott happenned, i didn't care at all, but i love scott, and i have my own opinion on him that will certainly never change, he made these 5-6 last years easier for me when i was going through rough time, and it's still is my favorite game ever, i'll forever be silent is this community, making my own game since month and appreciate any type of art that the fnaf community made for years (Not the furry stuff..)i even liked security breach when it got released, bugged as ever but i really like the game and wasn't about to cry on all forums that it was unacceptable to sell a game in this state, i'll always enjoy fnaf, my own way, but i'll always enjoy.
I didn't know about the Theft King drama until recently, and honestly, I didn't care. But you gave some much need clarity. For that, I am eternally grateful. You seem pretty cool. Perhaps one day, we could talk in private, share some ideas?
Okay, but if you do start feeling down, then make sure to tell someone
I myself understand what it is like to be part of something that became really toxic. I may be new to the FNaF fanbase, having just getting into it last year, but I honestly enjoyed videos from uhyeah, Elementia Studios, and who could forget good old MatPat? I understand what it is like to see a fanbase go to a dark, dark place full of nothing but toxicity. But I always hold on to the hope that one day things will get better. As Alfred said in the Dark Knight, "Things always get worse before they get better."
Did people assume that much?
I agree with this video so much, as a fan since the exact day Markiplier uploaded his first FNAF video, I've seen EVERYTHING with how this community has evolved, and it's heartbreaking to see the constant drama infest what was once one of the most kind, and accepting communities on the internet. This "divide" that Security Breach caused needs to go away, and the best way to do this is just respect each others viewpoints on the series, not dwell on the past so much, and be just in general more mindful. We're all just trying to have fun with a funny bear game, so we should make an effort to keep it fun, no matter which side, section, or whatever of the community you're on, we can all work together and agree on this ONE THING, end the toxicity and hostility.
I think a good example of what the FNAF community is going through right now, is what the Sonic Fanbase went through then Sonic Adventure released, and as an active member of the FNAF and Sonic communities, I know that this is something that can go away with time.
Hi Mr.Springs! And yes I agree
I'm glad you liked the video & agreed, you give a lot of really good input as someone who has been in this community a lot longer than me & that's something quite valuable.
@@Under_Score I agree with both of you 🐻🐰🐤🦊 : )
@@BlueFoxy87 hi BlueFoxy87
I totally agree with you Avory the community has definitely changed
I think criticism can be important to grow, whether as a game franchise or as a person, but the huge amounts of negativity that has seemed relentless these past few months in the community is just depressing.
A lot of the more "problematic" youtubers were ones who were critical of SB. They got their following from people who were unsatisfied with the state of SB, and couldnt find anyone else who shared that frustration. Most of the well established community figureheads like dawko were positive about it, and it felt really alienating. Id know cause i was one of them. But after theyd torn into SB as much as they could, they started ragging on the entire series, and after that, the fanverse and other creators in the community. Their intentions and content were innocent enough at first, just a critical analysis of the most divisive game in the series. But much like leafy and other commentary channels from 2016, they needed more drama to discuss to stay afloat, so the went hunting
criticism is helpful if it’s constructive which a lot of the anti-sb crowd is not. i also don’t like security breach that much but saying that steel wool is evil and is trying to milk you dry is so bad faith
@@chair448 no. Literally no one likes sb. Lets not lie. It wasnt even decent. It was shit. Nobody rushed them. They got overambituous and made a HUGE MESS. We have every right to be mad. If they continue this, the franchise will be in shambles. Im frustrated with the amount of people who pretend that there was anything positive about sb.
@@firewolf4824 again, this is just objectively untrue. your opinion is not the final say. was i disappointed by SB in many aspects? definitely. did i also really like a lot of the ideas it brought to the table? also yes. just because you didn’t like something doesn’t mean nobody else is allowed to like jt
@@firewolf4824 I loved SB, U do realise ur one of the people they just talked about, right?
The community was so different in 2014/2015 when I was introduced to fnaf, after a few years period of not being on the internet and then coming back the community was not as I remembered
Same now it’s just wrong
True. 2015 was great. Now there are mostly only little toxic kids

As someone who has been a part of many fandoms that have gone through their bit of "drama", the difference I see between this community and others has to do with the age of those in the community. A good chunk of this fanbase were probably either kids or early teens when they first became involved in the fandom, yes there were adult fans too but for the most part, it was still alot of young fans near the beginning. Now those young fans are adults now and if there's something I've learned is that your perspective on things definitely changes as you get older. Things you wouldn't see or notice as a kid definitely becomes apparent when you grow up. Also, since drama was rarely something that happened in this community, of course those in it will panic and treat it like all doom and gloom when it happens because this is something kind of new for those in the fanbase. All you can really do is simply keep your head up and move forward. Drama comes with fandoms, it's just kind of surprising that it took this long for this one to experience it.
I suppose we're lucky in the sense that we've gone till now without it, but in the same way that we were special for that reason, we can also be special in the way that we can try to legitimately fix or prevent it too.
We got all of ours in around a year when it should have been spread over years for the fandom to be in a better state
My sweet little Undertale and FNAF phase... I miss it, to be honest.
Trust me, we've always had drama, the younger fans just weren't aware of it. Remember Rebornica?
One thing I miss in about the fnaf community is how they used to coexist with other indie horror franchises that are similar but are now dismissing them as knockoffs
true. they try to tell others that "every indie copied from fnaf" while multiple indies were already in development before Scott released the first game.
I remember the insane crossover artworks with all Characters getting along. nowadays all I see is xy fnaf character killing another one from different franchise. because "fnaf is above all"
I actually cried while watching this. We need to be a better community again. We need to change our actions.
As wise man said. If you like and worship the creation excessively then it can damage the creator and the community.
It's too late now sorry dude
ITS gonna be hard people are bullying scot into changing eyes we they have dragged the good fan base down
@@Tempolast Just have hope. And wait for the smoke to clear.
I became a fan just a short week after the first game came out. I was hooked from the beginning, and was on ground-zero for every release of each game afterwards. I deeply loved this series since its inception, but I absolutely could not keep up with the community nor endure the games anymore. Security Breach broke me in more ways than one, and since then I've separated from FNAF almost entirely (except unsubbing from you!). Since then, I couldn't be happier. Getting time away from it all has done myself well and I hope that if there's ever a future FNAF game that piques my interest enough to return to the community, things will be a little bit more fun.
Kinda funny to hear that even when you separated from FNaF, you still stayed subbed even though I've been extremely inconsistent/dead, but your input on this is also extremely valuable. I think there's definitely an optimistic way to see this all as long as we just be better in what we do in the community.
#og
I completely agree with everything you said.
2:24 feels so deep after he said that part describes the current fnaf community
I was always in tears when Scott retired and when he made the old games, I miss when FNAF was loved and had phone calls and jokes, I miss when FNAF was..."FNAF"...
I miss the 2014-2018 fnaf community
Change is scary. I remember how different Sister Location was at first, but now it's my favorite game. I'm going to continue to hold my head up high and look forward to the future of this franchise.
I love how you don't sugarcoat things, it's been so long since (i last have seen my son-) i see a youtuber of the fnaf community talking things like they are. Thanks for the video.
Ive felt this for months. Security breach split the community in half, and from there its felt like constant infighting. At the end of the day though, theres stoll good people in this community. Ive created a fnaf film festival to help a portion of the community come together and remember why we enjoy the series, and to create films to give back to the rest of the fans, and hopefully remind others of where the passion comes from. I dont think the community as a whole will ever hit the highs it once did, but i think things will get better. Rhe launch of SB threw a lot of things into chaos. It brought new people in, alienated other, and threw the game into the spotlight again. I think after all the buzz about it has died down again, we'll be left with a more humble, tight knit community again.
Thank you for doing all that for the community & yeah I think with enough time, we will return to something relatively normal & tight knit.
Bro I cried
@@Under_ScoreI personally believe Security Breach is "The Last Jedi" of FNAF
Both Security Breach And The Last Jedi tried something new with the franchise
Both media divided the fandom
Some people loved it, some people hated it,
There are so many video essays about how the media "Ruined the franchise."
You can't say anything positive without The Last Jedi or Security Breach without being bullied or being called stupid for liking it
Look people, you don't have to like Security Breach, it's not a perfect game, but don't be a jerk to the Security Breach Fans! Art is subjective, so are movies, and so are games!
Very good video loved the editing in this and the message you are pushing! I agree whole heartly that the community at the moment is at its worse with all the drama and the community becoming something that is unrecognizable from what it once was hopefully the community can change as a whole and become better
Late August, of 2014, my older brother made me play FNAF 1, and throughout the years, my bro and I would always theorize on fnaf and make good memories. I really miss the old fnaf, 2014-2017 were the best years for fnaf. the community used to be good.
people love to shit on the sonic, anime, and all kinds of fandoms but it seems like nobody ever brings up how the fnaf community has become just as if not more toxic then a lot of those
as a furry we get shidded on all times, i am just dissapointed to see the world fall into toxicity. the world already has ended.
A lot of people say the FNAF community got worse after Scott left: the community was ALREADY bad long before Scott had left, in fact, this was just ANOTHER reason to why he left, it wasn't just Twitter
2014-2019 the FNaF community was kind and respected everyones theories about things,
2020-Present year the community is just filled with toxicity and thats something we all didn't want but people decided to become aggressive
i'd say that the fnaf fandom was pretty cringy at first (ya know, new thing is big, so fandom is cringe), then it mellowed out when fans were maturing, and now it's kind of a 50/50 between light-hearted fun and god awful drama depending on what fnaf youtubers you mainly watch. (not saying cringe is bad, its just part of growing up)
@@stickierstudios2026 Most big indie game fandoms start out pretty bad. But after awhile they mellow out. However FNAF is such a weird case because it mellowed out then it became a crap show again. It literally reverted back, I don't know of any Fandom that's done that.
@@ToyFreddyGaming1987 yea it's probably due to security breach bringing in new fans and content creators. Minecraft also had this phenomenon happen to it too after it became popular again.
Correct me if I’m wrong here but I think a lot of people are looking at the community with really rose tinted glasses. I don’t remember the community being all that good from the get go and I remember fnaf being known amount other game fandoms like undertale for being the most toxic. I think the only thing that has really changed is that people now have gotten a bit more aggressive and aren’t telling each other to kill themselves over arguments related to mangle’s gender. I’m sure the community used to be a bit better than it was today but I don’t ever remember it being this fun wholesome and welcoming community like a lot of people seem to think it was. I remember the wholesomeness being very uncommon and often present in small pockets in the fandom.
don't forget bona media
That's just what happens when there's a community or fandom people end up focusing on the worst of it because that's what gets everyones attention it's sad and I think that needs to change but for now at least that's how it is hopefully in the future people realize that every fandom and community have bad people but for the most part they're filled with good people and focus on that instead, this isn't just a problem in the FNAF community/fandom it's all of them
Wow….I’ve never seen a video that captures this problem this well this video honestly made me cry because it’s all true and it’s not just over reacting anymore
I remembered joining the in a small community when fnaf 3 was a tease, it wasn't as big where i was at but it built a spark for me to join one, i get to see my old friends moved on, one with talented art pasted away in 2016, community slowly died in me later around early 2019, it was a great to meet people with theories, talents, even when it comes with memes about it, all i can see now is remains in a amino app rping and toxic certain times, but still some talents
Fnaf has been a HUGE part of my life and has changed it forever but recently I’ve noticed that I’ve just been.. away from it but not at the same time.. like I know it’s there and I’m part of it.. but just watching from the background.. I just hate to see something that I’ve loved for years and years just crumble like this.. I want to leave but I’m scared it’s gonna hurt.. so I’m just here to witness it all.. It’s been an honor to be a member of something so big I just wish it could still be like it was years ago… I just hope it can be good again and come back from this…
Since 2015 the fandom was awesome back then. Amazing songs were being made for fnaf, Minecraft role plays were at its prime with Caveman films, and overall CZcams gaming channels were having fun with the games. Fnaf was at its prime back then.
But when it all comes to now the fandom and the community is becoming worse and worse. Continuously toxic threats, backlash, Scott Cawthons retirement, and overall just endless controversy’s surrounding content creators or just for no reason at all.
But there’s still part of the fandom that are creative, funny and overall a great part of the community is still there.
As a content creator myself I still let my creativity run wild as I slowly did my own thing and I’m drifting away from the fandom. I’ll still play the games but the community is making me doubt myself as some tell me what I’m doing is a waste of time and that I should quit. Some even death threat me and tried to start controversy with me when I did nothing wrong. Even if I did do something minor I still acknowledge it and apologize as I want to take full responsibility for it.
I love fnaf and it’s games. But the community is terrible and I think it’s too late to change back to the way we were when we were such a creative and fun community. It was fun being part of the community but I can’t take the toxicity anymore.
Honestly, I am a person who tries to look the postive side in most of things (when im not stressed ofc) and for me, security breach was a good game, but now...i dont feel like feeling happy in fnaf fanbase, now all where I stay at is the part of the FNaF fanbase where the talented people are, A.K.A. The fangames and sfm animators. I prefer staying there, and i honestly never looked fnaf comunity this way, from the indie game comunities, despite the cringe stuff, fnaf was always the best comunity, I tried many times convincing myself it was still that way, but watching your video made me wake up, fnaf comunity is dying, and as a person who loved fnaf since when I was 6 years old, to now that im 13, i feel bad..FNaF has been for basically my entire life so far...I really wish things dont end, becuz FNaF gave me motivations to get a talent, and I did got it, I'm a Garry's Mod artworker, and I am in process of wanting to be a blender animator, but seems like soon it will be gone. Incase it is, i'll miss the FNaF comunity...
Wow, this has to be one the most powerful messages I have seen from the current state of FNaF. We should all do our part to end the conflict and controversy between old and new fans, and recover that charm FNaF used to have. I have been in this community since day one. I was 9 years old and I was introduced to FNaF by Alphmau’s let’s play, then I would transition in watching Pewdiepie and get introduced to Markipler. I’ve seen a lot of people try to cling on the past and recover what FNaF was, however that doesn’t change the fact that this series has changed in many ways. The best bet is to move on, and stay positive. People grow up, so have I. People’s perspectives change when you grow older. The franchise you once knew doesn’t hold the same perspectives as today. Right now, I am 17 years old and I still believe that.
This series has seen its ups and downs, however I always knew it can still hold its charm. Thank you Under_Score for expressing this video that I can relate too so much and I’m grateful it was recommended to me. Well said, This Comes from Inside.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video & the message.
Bad things are inevitable my friend. The controversy couldn't be avoided. It's either power through, or let it all burn.
my friend i feel you. i know what you mean and yeah its true. i have been in the fnaf community from when it came out in 2014. and its grown to be like this. thank you for making this video.
This can be said about a lot of other fandoms. I discovered The Living Tombstone when MLPFiM was popular beyond nostalgic moms and their daughters. Like many other creators they were making content based on what they enjoyed and the community hit its peak half way throughout the generation of MLPFiM. People still make fan content but that's fading. Less than half the people that made content for that name are focused on other things, many of which disappeared. Some moved onto other games that became popular while others found careers in their talents and others just went silent. TLT is one of the few who stuck to their talent at making great music and even improved in the music they make. Other creators I discovered when FNaF gained popularity, but ultimately went silent again for reasons. It's a constant reminder of how not everything is forever or will reach a satisfying conclusion.
When did I first discover FNaF? Markiplier. It's what not only got me in the game but got me to subscribe to his channel. I liked watching him play the game because he was the alternative to Pewdiepie, who in actuality didn't want to review the game, but when he did he purposefully held back his reactions. It's the reason why I stayed subscribed to Markiplier because I wanted to know more through his gameplay and perspective. It's also how I discovered Jacksepticeye because of CZcams recommendations.
I want to add.
If you want what feels like a refresher, try the fan made games. Animators Hell is a good example of a community filled inspired game that does a good job being a copy of previous titles.
Honestly I was one of the people who was patient for security breach, I do also miss Scott, he will always be the creator of fnaf, steel wool studios did decent on security breach but with Scott being as picky as he was on the movie alone I feel like Scott could've made a better fnaf security breach due to his standards before with the movie that may or may not be coming out, I miss the old days of Scott and fnaf being praised for what it was and not hated on for what it wasn't, #thankyouScottCawthon!! -Haleybug
I actualy felt bad when i found out the fnaf sb song has another meaning thats really sad
Fnaf 3 was the start for me and now i own 12 fnaf plushies its sad to see it fall
I really agreed with this video so much. I just remember waking up 6am on March 2 in 2015 to see if anyone posted a FNaF 3 playthrough.
I relate to this video a lot, I remember joining in 2014, and I would do a lot to have those days back.
This is a perfect great video of video we need in this community.
I completely understand. I've been into FNaF since the very first game in August of 2014. Even if that's been way longer than you've been in, I still get it!
Remember Sparky The Dog?
Remember when Springtrap was shortly known as Golden Bonnie?
Remember watching that awesome FNaF 2 trailer for the first and getting so confused at the "Girl Bonnie's" design?
Remember when we realized what we had to do to get the Happiest Day in FNaF 3?
With all that being said, this video really hit me hard. Well done, Under! 🖤
And that scene from "This Comes From Inside" Also fits well with the community because it shows a MODERN FNaF character getting harassed by multiple CLASSIC FNaF characters.
I've been a fan since Fnaf 3. Man, it was so fun taking part in it.
I almost never get emotional at songs or fictional things. But the new Living Tombstone song legitimately gives me a little bit of feels. You brought up an amazing point about the song feeling less like it’s about fnaf security breach, and more what has happened around security breach.
God I remember back in September of 2014 when a friend of mine told me about fnaf for the first time when we were at our bus stop after school. He asked me to draw freddy and gave me a description, telling me he was some sort of a mechanical teddy bear with a tie, yeah those were the days.
Love that backstory
I found this franchise in 2015 and see the original fnaf freddy jumpscare from the left hallway door and began going into the franchise and I gotta admit I miss the creativity everyone had for this series, while that is still around, the dark shadow has enveloped the remaining creativity from the franchise
I miss Scott so much. I wholly respect his decision to take a step back, but damn have things gone bad since he left. He was in many ways the core of the community, and without him we've been imploding and fracturing.

Scott left BECAUSE of the fanbase toxicity, not just because of Twitter
At 5:03 I can say, in the good old time of the fandom. You use to be able to say your opinions and have really creative Aus and thoughts on how you see the game work.
But now in days with newer fans and old one, you can't talk about your opinions, your Aus or any thoughts on the game, because your the wrong one. Anything you say or do is wrong in the eyes of a lot(not all) of newer and older fans.
Now in days for the fandom people can't shut up and let others talk about their opinions on the game. I really wish people would learn to leave others alone and let them have fun. This community was made to have fun and not to put others down because of something they like.
I first joined the fnaf community sometime after fnaf 3 was released, I was obsessed, every time a new game came out i was hyped, even with the fangames. I even remember the first ever fnaf video i ever saw, I miss those times, i wish i could go back to day 1. seeing the shape of the community now is saddening to me, i just wish things were how they were.
i joined the fnaf community in late 2018 i first got into the franchise when my cousin showed me fnaf four songs like break my mind and the fnaf 4 rap but now i find myself very mad at the community for all of the drama most of the times the drama comes out of nowhere by respected creators it it allways burns to see people you look up to turn their backs on the community and the franchise. i really want to go back before scott retired
It’s sad how the community is now, I’ve been a fan of FNaF since the VERY VERY beginning (I started liking the series when I saw the OG trailer less than a month before the release of FNaF 1), the community used to be awesome (there still is some good stuff in the community now but not as much as before) but it’s went downhill the past few years, I hope with time, the community gets better because it disappoints me with how it is now
I 100% Agree I still love FNaF and everything but its not the same and never will be, a lot of situations like the Scott one for instance has many people ignoring the past good deeds and just putting labels on something, the community has grown to such a toxic fandom that its kind of hard to see anything positive anymore. When was the last time you saw something hyping you up in FNaF instead of this person did that or person canceled for that
I hope this community starts being more positive then having so much drama. Fnaf is a great series and always will be
It seems every community recently has been revolving around stupid dramas themed with either politics, LGBTQ+ stuff, or creators tearing other creators apart. In many ways the internet has become a pond of cannibal pirranas. What happened to the days where the internet could just calm down, have fun, and enjoy what they do. People like this: Stampycat, DanTdm, Dawko. Now for many Youttubers uploading just seems like a chore.
Yeah. I say it's less of FNAFs community's fault and more so how awful the internet and political/moral landscape has become. Everyone these days, especially within the young teens, wants to start a movement or be a hero, and opinions are often very one sided. The internet has become a very black and white place in terms of perspectives, you either are on one side or another. FNAFs community hasn't been doing good, but you can look at a community like Friday Night Funkin and see many similarities if not worse, especially with a fanbase once again full of so much children like FNAF does.

To me, being a part of the community since FNAF’s origin, I can’t say that hearing people chase Scott out was just horrible. Seriously, ever since lockdowns from Covid, people became FERAL. It’s like the smallest thing deserved to be drawn and quartered on social media.
Scott NOR his family deserved the insane hate from the fan base. It’s his money, and honestly while people disagree with the purposes behind it, it shouldn’t change the fact that Scott is still a guy that cares about US, his fans. And to completely turn on him…god I tell you, that man deserves nothing but the best after all he was put through then
As someone whose been a fan since the beginning, and pretty much enjoys just about every corner of this franchise, it really is sad and tiring seeing all of the negativity whether it be from drama or people being super pessimistic about the future of the series.
Hopefully things will get better.
This was inevitable. All the bad things were inevitable. You should have known and accepted that a long time ago.
I want to leave a comment to add onto this video, but I can’t. You’ve said everything I was thinking, great video!
I feel like we can all agree that the absolute golden years of FNaF were from 2014 to 2016.
I unfortunately wasn't a member of the fandom at that time. I joined in June of 2018. For me, 2019 was an awesome year for FNaF.

2014-2015 fnaf community were "way" nicer than now
Yes. Since 2018-19 the community has worsened, and just got more vigorous each year. Twitter isn't just the one to blame for Scott leaving, the fanbase was guilty too, if not partially guilty
Agree, I was part of it and It was so beautiful!!
Now it became very very bad, it's sad :(
They also made scott go away and since then everything went downhill.
I can only hope things get better after all these controversys die down and fans enjoy the new installments of Fnaf content as a famil-fandom again. After all, tomorrow is just another day. But yeah, don't keep the devil waiting old friend. *Looks at Peepaw Willy for like the 3th or 4th "I always come back" burnt time*
Honestly I miss the old Fnaf community, back when it is 2014/2015. I wish it was just like in 2014/2015 but I know we can’t get back to those times, even then. I kinda still miss the 2014/2015 however I know what I will have to look towards the future in someway, I know that this community can change for the better and I support it with all my heart..
I am new to the youtube community but not new to the fnaf community. I miss the old days before it was just teens having crushes on glamrock Freddy. I agree so much with this video and in my personal opinion, I think a lot of us can able to redeem ourselves from all of this controversey and stuff like that
Nostalgia isn't longing. Not for me anyways. Nostalgia makes me happy. Its the one positive emotion that truly shines through my depression. Longing would be sad. But nostalgia is a fond longing, bringing back good memories and applying rose tinted glasses to them. Nostalgia makes me feel zen, and closure. Its like a bookend, a narrative satisfying conclusion. Of course, life isn't a storybook, so the feeling ends and my life continues as unnatural as it may feel at times, but it just means I get to fell that feeling again hopefully. Anyways, that's what nostalgia us like for me. I realize it's subjective, and with my autism my emotions are likely skewed compared to that of neurotypicals. But that's my perspective. Couldn't help but comment on it when you brought it up.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt this way, FNaF has been my passion, and working in the fan-verse with ultranite was a dream come true until everything came to the worse. I came around between FNaF 1 release and FNaF 2 around the corner, I was in Thailand with family friends and she showed me the game. I was 10 years old, I'm now 18. Despite FNaF almost becoming a community of hell, It'll still forever be in my heart because the passion I have with it would never die.
same! those days were great!
0:01: That is literally the exact way I joined the FNaF Community just in 2017 rather than 2016.
I think it’s because the community is so huge right now And huge communities tend to suffer from these problems. I think it’ll get better once the community starts to shrink because, look at games like Bendy and Baldi. A small, dedicated community that’s not hurting anyone, just having fun and minding their own business.
Then, look at games like Fortnite and Among Us. Games that got so big, but their communities got pretty bad and everyone got sick of it.
Man you described perfectly all my feelings about fnaf right now. I recently came back to the fandom I joined when the first game released. I love fnaf, I love the living tombstone, this community defined my childhood and now that I'm 20 nostalgia is hiting me so hard. Btw, the editing is amazing, I loved the transitions and how you put that part This Comes From Inside in the middle of the video.
NEW SUB!!
I joined fnaf back about a week after the 2nd game dropped, and all I can say is. truly, my fav game creator was snuffed out by cancel culture and there was almost nothing we could have done to stop it, I miss sitting there with my sanchie plushies waiting for the new game to drop with amazing teasers with a truck of theories about "who is this?" "it was all a dream" "springtrap is purple guy" "phone guy is foxy" waiting for the game to drop so you could watch mark or jack, or dawko play it. I feel so bad for the kids who are new to fnaf and dont get to experience the magic of what it once was, but I still feel like we can show them in some way. Jason blum, Scott, I know your not but if you ever read this please with the movie, or the new DLC coming out. Show them how amazing it was and still can be if we stop this bullshit, but it is time for the OGs to close our doors and to on the brighter side, we got to experience it. We may not have people to carry us in your arms the way we lifted others into ours. but this ends for all of us

I've been here since 2014, and, I gotta say, it was like this back then too. Not as bad as now, or at least not as obvious, but there was some pretty serious drama going on back then. Rebornica, for one, but even beyond that, it was a fandom, and a popular one experiencing rapid success, and with influence from lots of more toxic places, Such as Creepypasta, Furries, and Minecraft (not that there's anything wrong with these. I'm a FNaF fan and an Undertale fan, and I got here through Minecraft, so that would be hypocritical of me), so its only natural things got bad on occasion. Also since all the way back in fnaf 2, we've had big sfm channels making soulless click bait content for children with sexual elements, which is still happening, and no one talks about it. I remember encountering those original jumplove videos while scrolling. It wouldn't end traumatized me to watch them, because I am already too messed up, but that probably wasn't good for the mental health of others my age and younger who saw that stuff. Also there was Smike, U didn't remember what happened to him but I remember that he kinda milked fnaf harder than everyone else (not that I'm criticizing that), people called him "Smilk" as a way of making fun of him and criticizing that begaviour, and then something happened. I don't know what, because I wasn't there for it (I kinda forgot about him), and I don't care to look up what happened but I get the feeling either he did something bad or he was criticized into oblivion. Even of that's false, then either he didn't deserve to be criticized like that, or he did and in that case that would still be a very negative occurrence. Oh and qasn't there also that whole Pewdiepie debacle, where he didn't find fnaf 4 scary and everyone got mad at him.
Anyways, yeah. I do look back on the old days fondly, but that's just nostalgia talking. After all, I don't feel particularly bad right now, and the secerity of my depression was the same back then, so its entirely nostalgia talking. Though, that's fine. Nostalgia is really effective against my depression, and I cherish it dearly.
I agree with this video wholeheartedly. i’ve been in this fandom since 2014 essentially since the first game came out. and recently I would say, especially after security breach came out. The fandom has been ever slightly getting more toxic people getting into endless debates on whether the new fnaf is good or the old fnaf is good. and the dramas oh my God it seems like this community cannot go at least two months without some creator getting exposed for being a bad person, or people harassing people like MatPat over their own theories, or just a stupid beef between two people. it’s sad. and I know this is gonna sound stupid, but fnaf was my favourite franchise of all time, and still think there are a lot of people in this community who are just amazing and very talented. I just hate to see a large majority of this community get into so much shit in like the time span of a year and a half. I miss the time where the only controversy in this fandom was someone stealing fanart and putting it in their crappy top 10 videos
FNaF was a game that was created many years ago with the sole intention of being a solo and common game....it only grew because of the fandom, and well....the very fandom that made the game grow, we in this case, me, you reading this, we made fnaf something gigantic, and in the end, we ended up making a lot of things in it, a big problem.
I've been a fan of the game since 2014, and I've followed and seen a lot of good and bad things over the years, I've always loved and will always love the game, the theories, the music, the good animations, the merchandise, the fanart and creations amazing fans, I always thought it was amazing, because I used to do all these things too, but there are a lot of things in the fandom that unfortunately ruins everything....and well, that's really sad.....I just want to go back to the good times, from 2014 to 2017, I would just like to relive it all, but unfortunately, these are times that don't come back, ever again....
2014-2019 fnaf was the best and I miss/am nostalgic for it
I miss the old Freddy's. Everything was so great back then. Now it's falling down. We're losing everything ever since the years went by and lost Scott. People lost creativity and thought. But I still believe we can make it!
I have also been a fnaf fan since the beginning. What the community has turned into is awful. I agree with this video and some of the comments as well. I can also relate to this video.
i still miss the time when we could just enjoy some fun stuff like animations, music and games themselves... there were people who did't like fnaf cuz it was like everywhere in the internet and it's fine these people always exist. but when the community hates itself... it makes me feel like i am in the nightmare and i just wanna wake up in my 2016 already!
At this point,it's inevitabile that every fandom is becoming toxic
the world is falling apart.
Can fandoms stop turning toxic for like an hour?
I’m starting to think the lock down in 2020 is the reason for this
@@kirbyfan2088 me too
@@kirbyfan2088 most certainly, this fandom needs to roll in the grass
The entire Internet is just crumbling into toxicity
This is really relevant ESPECIALLY now.
This video is a masterpiece (not that I agree with it but you definitely made me feel something)
I’m gonna cry… I remember joining the fnaf community in 2015 and I wish we still had those days… now everyone expects the movies and games to be on top and if it don’t go the way they want they hate it. I remember when no one cared about the looks of the game as long as there was one. There was no arguing there was no hate, it was peaceful. It’s going to end up being too much for whoever’s in charge next and one day they are just going to quit making Fnaf games/ movies. Then everyone will regret it. Im not saying it’s everyone just some people. You should be great full for what your getting because one day it may be gone. And it might be because of you…
Good luck on your mission, i might not watch your videos but heres a sub.
I will live my life with fnaf in my heart, because i grew with it, when i was bored, i watched FNaF content, i theorized with people who understood about the topic, and i will continue like this, a FNaF fan until i die, and maybe the franchise will live longer than me, because a masterpiece lasts long, this is all i have to say, about the video, this video brought me back to my old days, and for you who made this video, and The Living Tombstone for making this song, i can only say thank you.
The community used to be so friendly now you get so much bare people stealing others fnaf animations you get bullied it’s just gone dark.
I joined the FNaF community when FNaF 2 was released. I truly missed those days.
As someone who has been a fan of fnaf since the first game
This video hit hard
I just stumbled upon this after feeling incredibly down about the sheer levels of negativity and toxicity people have in comments, videos
In general when it comes to the games they claim they so very much love
The amount of genuine hatred I see for certain characters and each other's opinions is truly saddening
Fnaf Security Breach for example
I feel like the way the community, even after huge patches treats the game and it's characters
And to extend the people who dare like it
Is a mirror to what the Fnaf community has turned into
It makes a lot of problems we have in the community very visible
If you have a positive opinion on something
There is a good chance you will be bombarded with negativity on how you're wrong and braindead for thinking that way
,,Everything is a problem"
A community I once adored for it's openness to different theories, stories and fangames
Is now riddled with people who will tear each others arms off over something as minor as subjective opinions
It's just a nightmare to engage with and causes so much frustration as a result
I'll be the first to say it.
I absolutely loved Security Breach despite some bugs and rough edges to pieces
I don't feel like I am allowed to feel this way within the Fnaf community
The fnaf community has also gotten increasingly more hostile towards new people because of how long it has existed by now
Gatekeepers are everywhere
I love the Living Tombstone's song because I too think
that Fnaf deserves a more positive and healthy community for the sake of all the creativity it has
Thank you very much for this video
I'm sorry this has gotten so long
I hope everyone who reads this
Has a nice day
I think this video captures the problem with the fnaf community extremely well and it’s only 5 minutes
I honestly miss the days of FNAF when everyone was playing FNAF WORLD and there wasn't too much controversy back then, its sad to see the FNAF community become this way probably due to how people act these days during the 2020 era of the internet, i really miss talking about the FNAF lore with my friends at school long ago, i miss watching nostalgic FNAF videos on CZcams, and i honestly miss when Scott would upload a teaser of the next game on his website.
And i think some people in the FNAF community who are the "bad actors" can at least change if they try hard enough, although for some of them, its impossible for them to change as they constantly make lies and rumors that spreads like wildfire in the FNAF community, sometimes i'd like to think this is just a bad dream, a dream that we can't wake up from, but, i still have some hope for the community that some people out there can at least change for the better, if the upcoming FNAF movie is good when it comes out, it might reignite the flame to the candle that was once the FNAF community and things could possibly change for the better.
I completely feel this. Part of the reason I subscribed to your channel is the more “old school” fnaf content it has, like with the theories where you clearly actually know what you’re talking about unlike a lot of new theories.
The song made me cry so hard because I’m pretty sure everyone agrees that they want to go back to the 2014/2015 era the best era of fnaf I miss the old days 😭😭😭😭😭
Amazing video! Well made and edited..
Very well said and agreed
Indeed
I've been on the fandom since FNAF 2 and you're right. I miss the old days, the old fandom. Getting worked over the teasers, the trailers coming out, Vincent being a thing 😂
I wish we could all become a better community
I think I started to consider myself an FNAF fan around the time when Security Breach was released. Before that, I started to be interested in FNAF lore after Game Theory's Final Theory, and I was fascinated by how people can put the lore together. I didn't play the games because I hate jumpscares, but I decided to buy Security Breach thinking it will be an easier experience for me. I waited for a while for the game to get fixed and I decided to play it. I liked it. I am aware that a lot of people have valid criticism of the game that I can agree with most of them. But, for me, the positives mostly cover the negatives. And I like engaging with the community on Reddit, making theories, enjoying art pieces, talking about what we like about the games, etc.
It's just, that it feels weird seeing so many videos popping out about how big of a disappointment SB was. They are all valid and bring great points. It's just, that it kinda becomes discouraging seeing not just videos, posts, tweets, etc. about the game, but also how pessimistic are people over the future of FNAF. I'm not suggesting that people who hate the game or just dislike it shouldn't rant about it, don't worry. It just makes me doubt if I can even call myself a fan if I like this "stain" in the reputation of the franchise that seems to affect a lot of OG fans. And, now that I'm thinking, enjoying this side of FNAF will make the developers think that this is the way to go with FNAF and will abandon what the OG liked about the series.
Now, my first rant aside, I think I can speak in the name of everyone when I'm saying this fandom can't take a break from controversies. Drama, after drama, after drama, after drama. I don't know much about what controversies were before I joined, but what I can recall is the Jonochrome dating a minor; Phisnom with his take on FNAF; the MatPat's ARG idea that backfired badly; the whole Pear situation; the Kane Carter vs Theft King drama; etc.
And, that's only an annoyance of mine, but I wish Scott would have still been around in the fandom. I only heard of how much time Scott has spent engaging with the fans. Now, I know he has recently appeared in one of Dawko's live streams, but damn! I wish he was around when SB was released. Yes! I do not agree with most of his choices regarding his personal views, but I never wanted to just leave entirely. He has now popped again in some places and I think we might see him back soon, although I can see a controversy regarding his "breaking his promise" rising once he returns which will suck all the magic of the moment.
So, I'm wondering... Am I the only new fan that feels that way? And, OGs, be honest... It wasn't the greatest time to join the fandom, wasn't it?
It was inevitable, controversy was inevitable. These days, people are like that, and you just have to accept it. Not everyone is bad, but to be brutally honest... I can't tell good from bad anymore, morality is gray. Sometimes, I wonder who's worse; William, or the select few toxic bastards that decided to fuck up this fandom.
@@evatroniclover0026 Let's not get carried away here.
william litterally murdered children
@@internetclown-hk4ze He did alright. Very very sadly, fillicide exists.
As an OG, I had the same feelings regarding SB that I had when FNAF 4 and SL came out : it was very different from the first 3 games bringing different mechanics, game designs, and expanding the story in different ways. Although it was very confusing at first of how the future of the series would turn out, I enjoyed this "new" era of FNAF, and then, this era ended and another began with FNAF VR, AR, and of course, SB.
And I have to say that, as a student in video games conception, SB is a very hard game to hate or criticize for me (it also might comes from my fan side idk). I first bought it on my PS4 and I didn't experienced such bugs/glitches but the optimisation on the PS4 was terrible. So I left the game for a while and played it again a couple of months later when I got a PS5. I enjoyed it. It isn't perfect. It isn't the most scary/fun game of the franchise. But, it's clearly the most ambitious FNAF game made to this day. Knowing that this huge interconnected pizzaplex was made by an indie developer studio, it's truly an impressive work. With how much the game was advertised and getting popular, I expected the community to grow with new fans, that it would be an open gate to be introduced in this franchise. I was expecting criticism, obviously, but I couldn't anticipate the overwhelming toxicity directed towards the game and the devs.
Was the game unfinished on some points ? Yes. Could they have taken more time to finish everything and polishing it ? Yes, but no. You see, the game was already getting delayed multiples times, like constantly (it was first supposed to come out in 2020), and the controversy around Scott didn't help either. For me, the state of the game at its release was because they ran out of time (video games deadlines are just hell for devs) and budget, because they didn't anticipate how big the game turned out to be (in terms of ambitions).
And here we are now. With new fans scared to interact with the fandoms and some people just shouting negativity because of their disappointment (when just bashing on the current state of FNAF, and not actually criticizing it, it gets old really fast). I'm glad that this game still managed to introduce this universe to a wider audience (just like I hope the FNAF movie will do) and I'm sorry that you joined the fandom in this state. But I hope that you'll enjoy the good parts of this community, focusing on positive thoughts and letting haters hate.
I feel optimistic about the future of FNAF, or, at least, I want to believe in it. It changes. For the worse and the best. We can't stay stuck in the past FNAF ; we have to make its future better as a community.
As a fan of not just FNAF but also Transformers. I know all too well what it's like to have a fandom be impacted by change and controversy. Some people in my community have seriously hurt our reputation and have really damaged our relationships with one another. There's so much divide in the Transformers community that it makes me very sad. To know it's now happening to the FNAF community, it's also saddening. We are better than this.
I joined the community back in 2015 around the time fnaf 3 came out watching the songs and being terrified of the games up till sister location. The games themselves I would play on mobile(yes ik), and eventually switch. My point to all this is yes I loved the community of the past, but just as much as I loved stuff with the undertale community. However not expecting change isn't right. Not expecting people to try and go after the fame of the Mr. Cawthon isn't right. People will always try to go after something they can't or won't understand. The power problem is a developed problem where people will always feel like what they say matters most and when it doesn't they get offended or do more drastic things. Do I miss how it was before, of course because the lore was simple enough to explain to anyone on the playground at school. My thing is, this isn't out of the ordinary and people are acting like it is, instead we need to look at people who just don't care and love the games because they are made with heart and care all of them. Sure they may have bugs, or problems but the fact this started as a love project, and is still being made by fans and fans are still theorizing and playing the games is enough for me. I still do love fnaf and all its fan games, and while we focus on all the bad, the good of the community is far overshadowed despite it being 10x more then the bad of it. We look at games like JRs or Chompers, but we don't look at games like Any of the Radiance reboots (made with love and often support of the original creators) or stuff like the new glitched attraction, or the whole final nights series.
I agree many are surprise at the new Security Breach, but understanding not only the development of it, but all the effort that was put in even to the last minute shows these people didn't want the glitchy mess we got, but were forced to deal with it and try their best to fix it. I know there are still glaring bugs as far as I am aware, but here is hoping they get patched as new ports are out, and as dlc comes out. We can always show them what is wrong, but please don't make it an attack. This is a very very gross understatement of my opinions, but i don't want to make you have to read more then you have to.
This video perfectly sums up about the community that i left 1 week ago
I agreed everything in this video
i honestly cannot help but agree , i was with the franchise ever since the first game , i saw creators rise and fall , i was a nobody and i still am a nobody , back then i was someone who despite having the games didnt play them often, it was all fun and games , music , theories with the FNAF franchise being renewed i cant help but feel nostalgia for the old days too if only they could be resurrected in a new generation of fans if only all this negativity went away , drama isnt necesary if people have beef they should solve it privately and not make it a problem for all to see and hear or even comment on it the worst thing that ever happened was seeing Scott go i cant help but say that those who were at fault should be punished but Scott has his ways and went out on his own terms so i cant really say or do much, so for the help of God FNAF fandom fix yourself
Damn this went hard.
so very true, Looks like we got some fixing to do welp better get started
mhm
I 100% agree with this statement. I also joined the FNAF community around 2016, and looking at it now, it’s clear that a lot has changed, mostly for the worse.
But, i still believe that someday, the kids will grow up and the controversies will become less frequent, and we can one day have a community as strong as one we once had in the past.
likely the 2010s kids can fixed this but anyone can
I couldn’t agree more. I never really associated myself with the fnaf community as i only really played some of the games and watched videos, but I also didn’t really want to just have some of the big theorists just tell me what happens in fnaf because I felt like I should have my own theories that make more sense to me despite what everyone else says, and I also think the clip from the living tombstones security breach song matches what has happened to the community.
i became a fan around the time when fnaf 2's demo came out. man i miss those days.
this just perfectly sums up our community in a perfect way
Yeah sadly I think I saw more negativity in the fanbase recently, and when people discuss fnaf on youtube lately is more about drama ever since last year and honestly that kind of stained the fanbase, ik no community is perfect but honestly I feel the fnaf community is falling from grace, I rlly hope people simply just idk start being a little bit more positive in general, im not saying ignoring the troubles or whatever, but idk simply wished this community wasnt so drama focused lately
I remember when I was like 8... Watching those FNAF SFM videos and watching theories all the time
I completely 100% agree with this
Circa 2016 this fanbase was kind, encouraging and creative with damn near anything
Now? Im telling you right now that this fanbase has changed, and not for the better.
I hope one day the fnaf community comes together, and to who ever is reading this, spread the word, come together stop fighting, fix what's been broken by the hatred. Don't let fnaf die. *sadly tips hat and walks into the shadows*
This is probably the best take on this community right now that I've seen yet, I feel the exact same way
I joined the FNaF fanbase in 2018, and even though I was late to the party I still had a lot of fun with it, especially in 2019-mid 2020. In that time, we got VR, AR, Fazbear Frights, double the Matpat theories there was before, plenty of cool animations like the Special Strike and End of the Memeverse, and much more. Everything just kinda happened at the right time and at the right place. It was perfect. But around mid 2020, everything kinda came to a halt. There was still FNaF content to enjoy, but not as much. But them Security Breach came out, and it was great again! But around after a month...I noticed something in the FNaF community changed. We weren't talking about the lore or the gameplay, we were talking about how awful the game was. All of a sudden, their was a ton of controversy in the FNaF fandom. And some people starting to question and criticize previous games in the series, saying that "the games should have ended at the third." We are living in a pretty bad time in FNaF's history. Hopefully things get better from here.
this was the video I was looking for I 100% agree
