    This pick provides the brightness and durability of Ultex material, the fang-like precision of the Tortex® Sharp Pick, and superior handling thanks to a custom grip.
    “This pick delivers the best precision and attack of any pick that I’ve ever tried,” Jeff says. “Its sharpened tip reduces string drag, making it excellent for very fast passages and super articulate arpeggios. It’s a very big part of my playing and sound.”

      Alex Joyce you won’t regret it, I have a set of these and I went through the same problems Jeff did in my guitar playing career. Jazz III’s were a little too small, and I love the Tortex Sharp shape, so when he announced these, I grabbed a set as soon as I could. They’re fun as hell to use 🤘

      The other option is mixing super glue with sand and painting it across the top... the question is why has the company who makes the ingenious max-grip design not put it on the hardest pick to keep in place?

      Yep me too. Started with that big ol purple 2.5 or 3 mm can’t remember which. But it was massive lol. These days I can literally use the same pick for my acoustic and electric lol. 1.5 mm man I am. Thicker ones are good for leads but pretty bad for riffs and chords in my opinion. Sound brighter with the thinner pick.

    • @zappabain7097
      @zappabain7097 Před 2 lety +1

      @@WarmthandMischeif I still use that one; I use it similarly to Marty Friedmann, and I always tried to use only the tip so you can really run, and for that I found the stubby 3mm was clearly best (slides well, sharp but rounded tip and bright sound because of that hard plastic). Though I'm trying to get used to some thinner but hard ones, and I'll try this one too.

    I used to use thin picks. I actually got a pick that Jeff threw in the audience at an Arch Enemy concert. Tried it out. Unfortunately I lost the pick used by Jeff himself. However, I would never have changed to this pick if I didn't catch that pick. They take some getting used to, but they honestly are perfect picks for shred metal. Can not speak for other types of playing though.

  • @DomicidalCovers
    @DomicidalCovers Před 4 lety +1

    I have been using the Tortex Sharps for the past couple of years for playing Nevermore and Jeff's solo stuff since hearing that he used them. They definitely took a while to get used to and I usually have to do a bit of warming up with them to feel comfortable if I haven't used them in a while, so I'm hoping these will do me justice with the added grip and slightly rounded edges.

      @@scottwarner6357 , thanks for the info. I have a hard time with guitars over $4000, or Gibson Les Paul's that are said to be exact copies of the 1959 burst, but dont use Zamak (pot metal) to make the bridge, but charge you $7000. It's all a scam. If you want to spec out a guitar with the wood and measurements of the latest guitar hero, great. But please dont bullshit me that it's worth 4 times the price because it has a compound radius neck and signature pickups. We all know the buying power of big guitar companies, and they're already making a killing.
