This pick provides the brightness and durability of Ultex material, the fang-like precision of the Tortex® Sharp Pick, and superior handling thanks to a custom grip.
“This pick delivers the best precision and attack of any pick that I’ve ever tried,” Jeff says. “Its sharpened tip reduces string drag, making it excellent for very fast passages and super articulate arpeggios. It’s a very big part of my playing and sound.”
Jeff sounding totally 80's in this vid. Pretty awesome honestly.
Fuck ya Jeff is my favorite nevermore FOREVER!!
I've been absolutely _needing_ a cross between the jazz max-grip and the tortex sharp for ages... I feel like Jeff understands me here! Ordering some of these right away!
Alex Joyce you won’t regret it, I have a set of these and I went through the same problems Jeff did in my guitar playing career. Jazz III’s were a little too small, and I love the Tortex Sharp shape, so when he announced these, I grabbed a set as soon as I could. They’re fun as hell to use 🤘
Man me too. I was just fantasizing about this the other day when I saw my jazz 3 sitting beside a pointy pick. I though to myself, if only......
2:45 Jeff has been going through another Yngwie reconnaissance of late. The Instagram solo covers have been amazing.
1.14 T3 Tortex, the pointed purple people eater, has been my go to for the last few years. Best. Plectrum. Ever.
Tried this pick and it didn't help my legato at all.
Quentin James WHAT DA!? 😂
Try Dunlop mini stubby 3.0mm imo it's the best pick.
I tried one and it didn't effect my tapping at all.
See the thing about legato.....
......yeah....keep rockin brutha 🤘😆🤘

Ultex have been my faves for many years, didn't know they have a sharp version. Must check it out.
I've been using the Sharps for a good 10 years now too. It's reassuring that Jeff uses it too!
Finally! Been looking for the mix between Ultex and Tortex sharps forever!
Might have to try these, I’ve been playing the 1.14 gauge sharps for years and I absolutely love them but hate having to scratch them up to give them a grip
The other option is mixing super glue with sand and painting it across the top... the question is why has the company who makes the ingenious max-grip design not put it on the hardest pick to keep in place?
Started with the purple big stubby 3 mil myself lol. Have fallen in love with the flow standard grip 2 mil.
BA66699 I still use that stubby pick! It’s been my favorite pick for many years. I never hear of many other people using them though.
Yep me too. Started with that big ol purple 2.5 or 3 mm can’t remember which. But it was massive lol. These days I can literally use the same pick for my acoustic and electric lol. 1.5 mm man I am. Thicker ones are good for leads but pretty bad for riffs and chords in my opinion. Sound brighter with the thinner pick.
@@WarmthandMischeif I still use that one; I use it similarly to Marty Friedmann, and I always tried to use only the tip so you can really run, and for that I found the stubby 3mm was clearly best (slides well, sharp but rounded tip and bright sound because of that hard plastic). Though I'm trying to get used to some thinner but hard ones, and I'll try this one too.
Yeah I use Dunlop Gator 2.0 mm.
What an awesome commercial for a guitar pick. It just hooked me in and I watched till the end. I use a a fender 1.21mm bass pick to play guitar, I choke up right to the end so I can pinch harmonic my way all over the place, but I like the extra size for gripping.
That's the first iteration of his Jackson Kelly I believe. Before it had an ash finish. I saw it once on stage in 2018. I believe this is the guitar that's in the Reason To Believe music video.🤘
I had used the 0.88(?) green tortex forever, but last year I changed up everything, strings, etc., & switched to the Max-grip 1mm & I LOOOOOVE it!
Been my favorite pic for a year now. Ultex .90 Sharp!!!
I love my black Ultex jazz III's but I'll give these bad boys a crack.
What a legend... Such a fine taste in picks too
Jeff: the tone is in the hands and in the guitar pick.
Me: tries jeff's pick and still plays guitar like shit
Also me: okay, maybe I should play drums I dunno
You should try with Jeff's hands and his pick, Then you got the tone.
that proves that tone is both in hands and gear(pick) :)
Try bass...
Why everyone loves to call their playing as shit sometimes... If you don't want to play like shit, then practice
I used to use thin picks. I actually got a pick that Jeff threw in the audience at an Arch Enemy concert. Tried it out. Unfortunately I lost the pick used by Jeff himself. However, I would never have changed to this pick if I didn't catch that pick. They take some getting used to, but they honestly are perfect picks for shred metal. Can not speak for other types of playing though.
I have been using the Tortex Sharps for the past couple of years for playing Nevermore and Jeff's solo stuff since hearing that he used them. They definitely took a while to get used to and I usually have to do a bit of warming up with them to feel comfortable if I haven't used them in a while, so I'm hoping these will do me justice with the added grip and slightly rounded edges.
Beautifull
Beautifull
BEAUTIFULL
BEAUTIFULL FUCKING GUITAR!!!
I started with those triple edged Tortex picks, but I’m now using the Tortex .83 mm Sharp picks
Dunlop Big Stubby for life
Wish there was a mini version
I think it is cool seeing a pair of Nazgul/sentient pickups in his guitar for this video.
Cant wait to get these !!! Hunting NOW!
Tortex Flow .88...... that’s the Money Pick👍
I have 5 custom made and shaped picks....my nails...I sometimes use a Tortex just to keep familiar with one.
I switched to these picks
Last year. Once I was use
to it, I can’t use anything else.
The true of tone guitar
I just got a set and I'm really surprised how good they are right out of the box. They feel so natural to the hands. They are a bit noisy, but I'm starting to tolerate this "clickness" on many picks. They grip well.
I used ultex yellows for alil while....tried these 3 months ago and so far these are my favorite picks.... Love the grip and extended tear drop shape...the sharpness gives it a great attack
(Or maybe I'm just Jeff Loomis using another account?)
I have just discovered the Tortex Sharp 1.5 and they are really hard to start with, but I hope that I can improve my technique with them.
AWESOME PLAYER....!
If that pick was smaller it would be definitely my Best pick. For me it is really big but again it is a quality pick.
Like I know this is a pick commercial, but what pickups are in this Kelly? Fishman Open Cores?
Probably Jeff’s signature pickups. I have yet to try them out since I’m not much of a fan of actives, but these sound killer.
Im trying to focus on both the playing and the talking at the same time, and i have no idea what he is saying..
Yup now I just gotta get his new pro Jackson too!
@Jonathan Nielsen As in the JS model and pretend.
00-0:26 lick from hell! Sick Af
I use these picks however I went or the Dunlop site, there is no link to buy these... :(
would've bought, link is broken
I only came here the 999th time just to hear the intro lick.. 0:0-0:33! Dammn!!
When are the Dunlop Flow Gloss picks out?
I want the comfort of a Dunlop nylon 1.0 with the attack of the ultex 1.0
I drill holes in the ultex for grip
Will this be available in philippines?
I like Jeff's new Jackson guitar, but for $5200 I can get a custom luthier to build an ash bodied 12 - 16 compound radius graphite reinforced maple neck guitar, and a spare. Too expensive.
shovington67 they made a pro series at a fraction of the price that is practically dead on in feel, sound and specs.
@@scottwarner6357 , thanks for the info. I have a hard time with guitars over $4000, or Gibson Les Paul's that are said to be exact copies of the 1959 burst, but dont use Zamak (pot metal) to make the bridge, but charge you $7000. It's all a scam. If you want to spec out a guitar with the wood and measurements of the latest guitar hero, great. But please dont bullshit me that it's worth 4 times the price because it has a compound radius neck and signature pickups. We all know the buying power of big guitar companies, and they're already making a killing.
"tone comes from hands and guitar pick"
proof that tone is BOTH in your hands AND gear(pick) 😉
is jeff loomis trying dimarzio pickups??
No he is with seymour duncan
@@Slam_man_bill i know he was couldnt he switched to dimarzio in the meantime? i mean those pickups dont look his signature pickups neither SD, but rather dimarzios to me
@@nunofrg yeah you are right. Maybe its not his signature guitar.
@@Slam_man_bill its actually the prototype signature guitar
Or maybe they are a new type of actives? I know EMG has made “open coil” actives
A fuckin' beast! 667
Buy this pick and play like Jeff Loomis 😂
Joking aside, just modify your own pics with a file, green Tortex with a sharpened tip for me, rings those strings like a chime 👍🏻
the only thing I’m good at is picking my nose. i wanna try one.
Are you more into sweep pickup your nose or alternate?
Maxime Laliberté how can you alternate pick your nose bro? 😂
As soon as the video starts, around the 8 or so second mark, it sounds as if he's about to bust out some old Gary Moore lick.
He definitely played a bit of "Parisienne Walkways" there. Good ear!
It doesn't matter after a while the pick will wear out and adjust itself to ur playing and u will regret dumping it
Farewell Jazz picks haha
Jazz 3
Who are the 7 people that disliked the video?
Fix the volume issue. This recording is awful.
Great lead player. But is tone is the worst from all guitar heros. To much gain that sounds fizzy. He should lower the gain. Increase the compressor and place a tube and more delay. But hey. Only my opinion to be honest. I cant play 90% of what he plays. But in tone I can
7k for that crappy jackson. 7
