Same, when I speak to Koreans I have a more Korean accent (while speaking English), when I speak to Japanese I have a more Japanese accent (while speaking English), but with my family and everyone who speaks English, I have an Australian accent (when speaking English). It’s really weird but I’m not faking my accent. I’m from South Korea and Japanese ethnically but nationality wise I’m from Australia.

As an Indian, i never want to change. My grandparents and basically my entire family always said “oh --- don’t change! You’re so cute, small and gorgeous! Stay that way forever!” And I listen to them. Because it’s convinced me, anyone can be beautiful in their own way. I’m grateful for that.

The accent changing isn’t uncommon in multi-cultural/multi-accented households. Americans also do it if they are from a place that has a different accent than the accent where they currently live. Have a person who grew up in Texas visit family and their accent is going to come out! 😂
