    What a drowned wasted resource.
    And the logging continues with new coupes in NE Tas and the Huon. 😮

      It's amazing how much timber is left in our Hydro Lakes, it's a real pain to navigate through in a boat... I believe they made a bit of an effort to harvest the huon pine and bigger logs as the lakes were flooded but a huge amount was left behind, a lot was too far from road access and such.. I believe in Gordon a lot of the huon pine was cut down and left to float to the surface, it was gathered up into rafts, then each year sawmills would go and retrieve a certain amount, in the early 2000's a lot was lost to a bushfire due to a raft floating ashore... In recent years they've been harvesting timber form some lakes, like Lake Pieman...
