Great listen. Fair play about his comments re Barnsley, was only giving his opinion. I'm a Barnsley fan and no issues from me. Keep up the great work lads
Guys, Wolves fan here (over 50 years) but don't worry I was born and bred in South East London and don't have the Black Country accent lol. Great chat with Stephen Elliot, top guy, funny stories about Roy Keane.
A Black Country accent is nothing to be ashamed of. And if you're a Wolves fan you should know that. Having said that, there are question marks over Wolverhampton's claim being in the Black Country. Either way, a lot of their proper fans are Black Country blokes and proud of it.
@@dperson9212 "A Black Country accent is nothing to be ashamed of" I never said that, you may have took it for granted ? in fact my Dad came from Wednesbury and had a slight accent after it wore off from living in London. As for Wolverhampton referred to as part of the Black Country, in the West Midlands, I think you will find it is and stems from way back in the 1800's due to it being a heavy Industrial area.
OK Brian, fair enough. I guess I took it the wrong way. As a Black Country man myself, I think it's almost a moral obligation to defend our accent and dialect as it gets ripped by everyone else. As for W'ton, there will always be people who question whether it should be included in the Black Country, and many people don't think it is. It may have an industrial heritage, like the rest of the area, but the coal seam didn't extend that far apparently......and there's a feeling that the council 'used' the Black Country connection when it was going for city status I think. Anyway, I'm getting boring now...... have a good day. I'm Albion btw, but there's no hard feelings!
@@dperson9212 Fair do "D", no problems. I'm not one of those Wolves fans who has the "hate factor" for WBA and Villa, never really had it in me on that score and as we all get older we mostly mellow. Would like to see more of Wolves but as I live in Thailand now I only get back once a year to catch up with family and take a game in. Anyway good luck for the 2019/2020 season.
@@chsssify the last guest had 2 parts and all he did was high pitched shouting, sucked his teeth, walking away from the mic.... It was god awful listening

I have a new found respect for Big Jon Parkin these days...He is fucking hilarious at times... Should try and get Jimmy Bullard and Ian Holloway... Those 2 will have some cracking stories to tell
Jeff Whitley was a tragic case. Great to hear he turned his life around though. Would be great to see him on here
