Thrift Flips for Spring ~ DIY Home decor to resell in my booth

- This week I am getting back to upcyling small thrifted items to keep at home or resell in my booth. I shopped my stash (aka hoard) and created new items that are more my style to sell in my booth! I use DIY paint in the color White Swan and Farm Fresh along with Big Top and clear/white wax as top coats. I also used DIY liquid patina. The IOD products I used in this video were transfers: Ephemeral Melange and Floral Anthology along with the stamp sets: birds & bees, kindest regards and typesetting. The colors look great in this video. Loved all your projects. The lockbox totally transformed! Wow Nice to see JT again at the end. The bird on plywood and the wall hooks were beautifully done. I think my favorite was the frames-adding that bluish color softened the pictures and you brought out the color! The silverware drawer I have a couple of them as well, never knew exactly what to do with them. Looks good, would love to see a couple flower transfers or maybe a flower stamp on top of the pages would finish it off and go with the outside. ❤🙌🏻

I loved all of your projects. In the silverware box, put just a small flower/stamp in the corner as you open the box as a little surprise. When I flip something with drawers it’s just a small thing that my customers love. Thanks for another amazing video.

Hi Heather, all the projects are beautiful ❤️. But the box is my favorite, it is stunning the way you transformed it. I love the inside of the lid as well. I would continue with creative words or frases in that part and the bottom maybe some pretty decopode paper that ties it all together. I hope you have enjoyed your weekend 😊 God bless

I would leave the wood alone because the color tone matches the pages on the lid. Sometimes less is more!! I do love the box. So many good ideas. Love the stamps of birds. TFS.😊❤👍

I couldn’t possibly choose a favorite of these. You know you made my heart happy with Farm Fresh. The kindest regards stamp is the best IOD stamp they have put out. It is so versatile. You did a fabulous job on that poor box. Yes I would put book pages on the bottom also. And I want to suggest distressing the transfer some since the box is distressed. Henry loves his walks I see. So my little girl is my “freedom” girl! Two years ago when I started my channel my word of the year was FREEDOM! I found this little girl thrifting and thought she was the perfect embodiment of that word!!

I'm super new to this whole world of crafting, even more new to DIY and IOD products, but totally agree that both are AMAZING! I plan to buy a second book of the Ephemera Melange and the Brocante... I've made tons of beautiful pieces with the 4 books that I've purchased thus far ❤️
Don’t even get me started with the Brocante transfer book. It is my favorite transfer book of all time!! Takes everything up a notch that’s for sure!

Hello Heather! Everything came out wonderful, and of course the silverware box is fabulous! A labor of love. I have 2 silverware boxes that my mom had, and I have been wanting to do something with them for quite awhile. Thank you for the amazing inspiration! I also have a rusty crusty cash box my mom used to use. So many projects I'm looking forward to doing. I love the farm fresh and want to use that on one of the silverware boxes. I had a silverware box like that but it didn't have the drawer. I took out all the inner parts except for the lid material. I use mine for paint brushes . I put my small brushes in the holder for the silverware.

I am so sad to say I did not upcycle that frame! I purchased it at Home Goods just like that! I’m pretty sure a wooden frame with the candle wax/paint/distress technique would work. Or maybe milk paint? Maybe I should do a video on this?

That one is Floral Anthology and it’s an IOD transfer. So many good flowers in that book!!

So you didn’t decoupage the bird on the box? how did you adhere the bird, a little confused about this project.
I was going to put the bird on the bow but didn’t like it…so got out some wood so I could put the bird on a picture instead. Sorry if it was confusing!
after putting on the transfers did you seal the top at all?
On the box I definitely did a layer of big top since it would be constantly used. For pictures and wall decor I usually don’t since they don’t get constant wear.
Do you sell IOD?
I don’t…yet! There is already someone selling in my store and my goal is to sell on a website soon! It’s quite an investment but I believe in their products!!
