Up Awo! The greatest leader after Oduduwa the Yorubas produced. His principle and dedication to service are second to none. I visited his Ikene house with a group from Lagos, and profoundly everyone was impressed with the simplicity of his lifestyle.
The instrumentation of this music is very good especially the pianist, I really appreciate his scale improvisation. My Dad do play the music then when Awo died and I remember to check the music today. Pa Ogunde is a legendary composer and playwright.

Funny but this song was sang many years before the death of Awolowo. It was a tribute to him after he was released from prison and was campaigning to the presidency in 1979.

I was writing my WASC exam and was revising for the following day's paper. Around 11:00pm I sneaked into the sitting room turned on the tv to OGTV and this song was playing.
