Games should be decreased. The amount of injuries that clubs have is insane. Only City and Arsenal seem to have no injuries yet they have many players on the hospital bed. Liverpool had to play kids in the league cup final. Chelsea captain can’t even start due to injury. These games will soon backfire when young prodigies will be injured, overworked due to other player’s injury. Soon clubs would have to turn to their U-18s for carrying them. This would destroy their rhythm of growth both as a player and as a person.

I wonder what changed with Poch since his spurs days.
I remember seeing a documentary or something about spurs and how they aren’t able to spend a lot of money (I think it was before their new stadium was announced) so they had to keep their players as fit as possible, which meant doing a lot of conditioning and I think it worked. Their players at spurs were rarely injured and a lot of them like son or Kane would play almost every game for years. So I wonder if he changed the fact that his players had to do heavy conditioning since he could just buy more players.
I feel like if poch had his spurs team and the funds at Chelsea he probably would’ve won a league title with spurs and maybe the UCL, but I think he might’ve changed a lot since his last two teams basically have infinite money for him to spend.

I'm a Chelsea fan and I'll share with you something not many people know. Years ago when we were still being managed by lampard in the first tenure we had a shit ton of injuries. Pulisic was in and out of the team and the national team but the USMNT was intent on playing him until he picked up an injury in November. We didnt play him for a while but he eventually got back into the team but what you may not remember is that Chelsea posted a training video where he came back and was visibly unable to even stand properly much less kick a ball but was in first team grass training (I've checked to see if it's still on CZcams but Chelsea's vids only span back 2 years). after this he was one of the most injury prone messes I've ever seen. I'll let you make ur decisions on what to think about the med team and their decision making. In case there is a possibility of finding this again I believe it was between October and November 2020

Pochettino keeps most of our players confident, like nkunku, who is injured quite a lot, and palmer, who is doing amazing with a £35 million raise in transfer price, and the rest of the team playing pretty solid. we just need some more confidence for younger and unexperienced players, a new owner, and the curse over chelsea to be locked away

A major part of the problem is the recruitment process, I mean how on earth do you sign players that have bad injury history? Take for instance Wesley Fofana, he has always had a bad injury history while at Leicester city, Romeo Lavia came to Chelsea injured. Christopher Nkuku wasn't always fit at Rb Leipzig - bringing such player to a league such as the premier League with with it's intensity and physicality, injuries are bound to be recurring.
The medical team too also needs overhauling

I've always said the medical team is a sham, we keep having injured players going back into injury after few games, it's funny how the board isn't seeing this as the problem

Exactly the whole truth and nothing but the truth. If Chelsea had a squad that is much as injury-free as the other teams, we should really be challenging for the title now. You also forgot to mention Wesley Fofana who didn't play a single minute of football.

It might not have a thing to do with their medical staff. It is a fitness and conditioning thing that leads to recurrent injuries.

Younger players tend to be more injury prone. The average age of Chelsea’s squad is 23.7 compared to the next youngest, Burnley of 24.8. Man city’s is 26.3

They suffer more injuries because they have double the amount of players in a squad, they aren’t playing well because the players are bought for crazy prices and can never live up to it.

Cant blame the medical staff for injuries they only fix the problem after it occurs. Its player conditioning, workload and bad luck lead to injuries. Would be more interesting to see what type of injuries they have and where they keep picking them up.

Chelsea biggest problem is the management team. Medical staff is bottom of the barrel. If they would rid off several of them who are there to make bank and not genuinely help the club they would hold the prem trophy.
