I love this series produced by Bill Moyers!
I saw this when a 5-VHS package 'Healing and the Mind' had to be purchased to play the one 'The Mystery of Chi/Qi' on a VCR, but I have not found the one full episode on CZcams. Then & now I wish Bill Moyers had tried to push against the master himself.
How can I watch the full documentary. It used to be on CZcams but I can find it now

I don't exactly doubt that something like this might be possible, but this is not it. At most the old 'master' is a highly skilled manipulator of people. The shaking hand is simply the signal he gives the 'student' to begin acting. The 'students' probably cooperate out of a sense of respect, belonging to an 'exclusive' group, or some other thing.
It would be interesting to know how the psychological dynamic plays out in a situation like this. The American kid with the long hair came all the way to china to do this. How foolish would he feel if he admitted to himself or others after recognizing that it's a sham. Especially by people like perhaps his family and friends, that probably pleaded for him not to go as he defended his position to them saying something like "You just don't understand! You'll see I'm right!".

@@ahmedzafar4238 You would assume one would not do such a thing, but human psychology is a funny, irrational, and complex thing. Short of explaining my point explicitly, consider people who have done worse. In light of that, the probability of it being the case is not far fetched in my humble opinion.
I will not say this is impossible or a sham. It may be real, and it may not be Satan involved. But can anyone learn this ability? With enough study? Certainly not. Their must be a certain innate ability that can be cultivated but only a few people have it and fewer develop it. In other words, putting yourself on a path to try to learn it may be a exercise in frustration, as you cannot possibly do it. I think those who claim to be able to train others to do it are practicing bullshido.
I personally believe that any healthy enough person can learn to do certain things considered 'supernatural' in our modern society. The problem is that knowledge of these type of things are suppressed and hidden in our modern westernized world for one reason or another. It would take a certain amount of self-awareness and knowledge of method to achieve these things. It would not be in the interest of the powers that be for the masses to posses such knowledge and ability. There is a man whom i believe is real in this respect, his name is John Chang.
