  • Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich is present at the first face-to-face talks in two weeks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, as hopes rise that the negotiations can spur progress towards ending the war.
    The Russian oligarch was seen sitting in the front row as two teams sat down facing each other at the long table in the Turkish presidential office, footage showed.
    He was seen adjusting his headphones to listen to the president’s speech launching the peace negotiations, Turkish and Russian TV visuals showed.

      He’s not a close friend. Putin called him a traitor and said he would spit him out like a midge.
      He is of Ukrainian descent. And the Ukrainians asked him for help, so he is good to his word, and trying to help them to negotiate.

      @@MC-eu8wm he has something in it for himself as well. Roman Abramovich was one of the original oligarchs from the fall of Soviet Union. He got crazy rich in a short time. Why do you think he survived Putin's wrath while the other oligarchs had to flee like the rats they are. He has good relationship with the Putin government. He looks good doing it but I doubt that it was his choice solely.
