- Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich is present at the first face-to-face talks in two weeks between Russia and Ukraine in Turkey, as hopes rise that the negotiations can spur progress towards ending the war.
The Russian oligarch was seen sitting in the front row as two teams sat down facing each other at the long table in the Turkish presidential office, footage showed.
He was seen adjusting his headphones to listen to the president’s speech launching the peace negotiations, Turkish and Russian TV visuals showed.

People like him and the Turkish state are acting as intermediaries or middle men to try and get the two sides to sit down and talk. They’re basically people who have ties on both sides so can be assumed to not be bias.
