I like raw sweet onion in my fritters. Then more on my beans.
Yep, that's how my mom made them....
My late grandmother would add chopped Apples to her cornbread fritters
Fried cornbread is one of my favorites especially with beans. This video sure makes me want to eat.
We used to own a restaurant and served these but called the corn fritters and sometime we would put finely chopped vidalia/sweet onions in them.
I am sorry I see you call them the same thing try adding onions in them.
You can also add sweet corn and smoked paprika with them onions and you got yourself a heckuva meal.
I just love you to death.. you are so sweet, simple and kind. I could watch and listen to you all day…. You two are special people. Not to mention you make fantastic looking food… 🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻
I do watch all day !!!
Wow, you look like your momma. I love skillet cornbread, but cornbread fritter is a great substitute. 💕
THANKS, TAMMY! I always wanted to know how to make these right!
Hi 9,l
I love onions in my fried cornbread and sometimes also add few peppers (your choice).
My mom always fried her cornbread in half bacon grease and half butter. Best ever! I didn't have lacy cornbread until my daughter married and her husband was the cook in the house. He made the lacy cornbread whenever he cooked collards, black eyed peas or ford hook lima beans. I was hooked but I still like my mom's fried cornbread. I only bake my cornbread whenever I make chicken and dressing.
I’m trying to make my son a recipe box of what me, my momma and grandmama cooked and I know it’s difficult. I’ve rarely measured and now I’m having to cook and measure what I eyeball. But it’s worth it. He’s so excited to be getting that recipe box😊
That’s always my problem. I watched them for years, and can make most of their recipes, but nothing was measured. So when asked for a recipe I feel lost for the answer.
Yum!
I’m so hot natured I refuse to cut my oven on.
This is how I make my cornbread now.
Haven’t mastered biscuits in a skillet yet, so I use rolls.
❤️🌻💜🌺💖
Yummy supper! I'd have to have me some fresh green onions or sliced sweet raw onions to eat with the beans too! Maybe a spoon of chow chow on top!
I love chow chow with my beans! Haven't had any in years!
Granny used to always put fresh sweet corn kernels in it!! And that is how I do it with Tammy's recipe! :)
A heap of fried taters, sliced red onion & some garden-fresh tomatoes to go with those beans & fritters....Mmmm good!!
Now you’re talkin’! Yum Yum!
My grandma used to make something similar to these! As a child growing up it was called bacalaito in spanish, codfish fritters! Which sometimes we would pair it with some beans or eat it as a side thing but if we didnt want that we would make fried dumplings and they were shape like fritters, i never tried cornbread fritters! So Im excited to makes these! Love from Wisconsin! ❤❤
That’s that southern home good cooking😋
Makes me hungry for beans! I like cornbread fritters but my family has decided they'd rather have frybread with beans so we have that often.
Hi Tammy & Chris! These cornbread fritters are so good! It didn't take long for my crew to put them at the top of their fave list especially when we had to wait for the oven to be serviced & we couldn't bake corn bread for about a week or so. Can you imagine a southern kitchen without cornbread!?? My grandmother frequently made these. I have her big ol' cast iron skillet that she used for frying. Just pure magic from that skillet!
Sure brings back warm memories! Thanks for another video, y'all! 🌞
I’d already watched this video yesterday but it was listed under google on my phone where there are typically various news articles. Imagine my surprise when under an article about the Death in Paradise tv show and one about Young Sheldon is this video!!! You’re definitely BIG TIME!!!!
Those look delicious taking me back to my grandma's house! Sweet memories 💕💗💕 I love y'alls new house!! Beautiful!
Anyone ever heard of lacy fried cornbread? My grandmother had it often and so good with chili
Yes, my grandma made those! 😋😋😋😋😋
I’ve heard of Lacy Cornbread but I haven’t ate any. Could you let me know, how to make it? Please and I thank you.
I believe Brenda Gantt has a lacy cornbread recipe. It's Brenda Gantt Cooking the channel with the check mark in the circle. There are a lot of fake channel copying her out there.
@@DeborahBrown-tj7wx thank you!
I’ve heard of it but never had it. If it’s cornbread it’s good… I love to make my cornmeal batter and pour it over pork & beans with cut up hotdogs in them and bake them . I usually bake the beans and hot dogs until they’re hot and thicker. Then pour your cornbread batter over it and bake at 400 for 20-30 minutes. So good. Can add cheese as well.
Love corn fritters & pinto beans. I can see them in my near future 😁💖
Hi Tammy…my mom made it like this the only thing she did different…to the oil a spoon of leftover bacon grease. Yum,Lol
Have a very blessed day
Looks delicious… just need a piece of onion and meal complete. ❤

My husband fries a big ole piece and usually burns the bottom. I’m going to do it your way! No more charcoal!!😂❤ Thank you so much!!😊
I’d always referred to this as fried cornbread, my mother and grandmother would make these sometimes as an alternative to baking in summer. I still make them on occasion and still have to eat one while still hot out of the pan just like when I was a kid.
Thanks for showing how to make these I never have made any of them, they look scrumptious
I love cornbread & your fritters look delicious 😋
I love cornbread and corn fritters! Thanks..
Can’t wait to make these!♥️♥️♥️
I've cooked these my whole life just like I was raised n ate! Never used that much oil but of course, We used lard n it didn't take that much! To oily for me like that! Little is best n they fry up just as good n brown. As an older southerner, We never put sugar in our cornbread or fritters! That's a northern thing! Thanks Tammy...
Yum 😋! I'm getting ready to go make a few of these right now with some honey butter on the side because I don't have beans 😊❤
That look so good.😊 Love Joanne Resh ❤️
I'm a weirdo..course you already knew that...but I like grape jelly on my fritters..it is sooo yummy.

Hi Mrs. Nichols! Pinto beans are my favorite kind of bean,i never really get enough of them when i eat them lol. The cornbread and beans look so very good. And, i miss your other kitchen because that's where i first start'd watching your channel, but congratulations on your new home. It's very nice.
My momma always made pinto beans but never with corn bread. Always with grilled tortillas spread with butter.
Thx for sharing I’ve made these with corn for corn fritters haven’t made them in a long time, think I’ll make them again. Yum
For some reason, I thought you were going to put corn in it…..😅 Now I understand and it looks mighty good. I bet it’s a lot more tasty than regular baked cornbread. Thanks Tammy!
❤️-Brenda

Cornbread Fritters!!! Yummmmm~mmy* 💖💖
Looks delicious!!
I'm going to try this but I think I'm gonna use lard instead of oil.
It looks delicious 😋 Now I am hungry for beans and cornbread 😊
My mom made these when she made salmon croquets. She would put a chopped onion in the dough.....yummy yummy yummy 😊❤😊
Oh yeah!! I LOVE fried cornbread but there was a different way we did it pouring hot water, Pet carnation evap milk, right in the center ground of a bowl of yellow bag metal clasp white cornmeal and drop them in Crisco shortening. It looks like what you made was what my grandpa called cornbread pancakes. He'd make those in the morning and we'd butter 'em, top with homemade Sugar cane syrup, and eaten up!!! Ummm ummm I want cornbread pancakes RIGHT now ... oooo wee I love those!! He passed Thanksgiving night 1990 & I bet it's been since the 80's since I've had those!.
Thank you for sharing Tammy and Chris have a blessed day stay safe and healthy. Yummy on the fritters Mmmm. 😋😋😋🙏❤🙏❤🙏

Hi tammy and family
I love fried corn bread
Thank you for sharing
Hey Ms Tammy, love the fried corn bread. The stove eye does not look like it was heated to a full circle, could that be why the right side did not cook? I bet you can’t wait for your new gas stove. Happy, blessed weekend from Cincinnati!
My Mom would them a lot and add green onions to the batter when we had fish for dinner. On boy talking about good eating.
instead of the sugar, try adding a little bit of knorr chicken boullian in your dry mix before you add your wet ingredients. delicious with frijoles pintos❤
Is the buttermilk cornbread mix self rising??
It is

They would taste good in a bowl with a little buttermilk.
Pero pk llevan tanto aceite estos panecillos?
Corn bread absorbs it easily

My mother cooked these all the time. We liked it better than baked cornbread. My mother always used cornmeal mix because we didn’t like full cornmeal because it was too gritty.
What is lacy corn fritters?
You look like your Mama!!❤

Yes! I’d love to see the video for the Pinto Beans too! Thank you!
Can I use a grease container for crisco on my counter? Or does it need to always be in the foiled container it comes in? I was just looking for something prettier to put it in because I have it out all the time 😂
Sure you can store it in something else!
@@CollardValleyCooks awsome!!
Served at a oyster roasts!
Amen.🙏
Yum!!! 😊
Hi can't Wait!
Thanks Tammy. Can’t beat pintos and fried corn bread patties.❤️
We love cornbread fritters! I just made some a couple of days ago!
Sometimes i just use cornmeal mix and hot water. I like to add chopped onion yo mine snd sometimes green chilies or jalapeños. Hot water cornbread.
I make these all the time to eat with my beans snd fried potatoes.
We’re these called Corn Dodgers a long time ago?? I was watching the original “True Grit” western movie with John Wayne and he explained that he was carrying “corn dodgers” in his saddlebags for them to eat. Whatever it was, it was round.
I am going to go out on a limb and guess Tammy uses corn oil when frying cornmeal fritters, the label side was turned around on the oil to see. Corn on the cob with butter salt and pepper is delish so I can imagine the taste of these.
Yes we use corn oil
Thanks Tammy.
