    I'm obviously in the minority, but I absolutely HATE lightweight mice. The heavier the better. For ME, a lightweight mouse moves TOO easily when I need precision, it annoys the ever-living shit out of me. I have to reduce mouse sensitivity to compensate and doing so is just a band-aid fix. I wish this mouse was even heavier! But I'll take it whatever I can get. I have been using the Razer Orobouros since it was released as it is the heaviest mouse I could find. When it broke a few years ago I paid a premium to find a new one still for sale on Ebay lol. I replaced the internal battery with lead weights and use it wired just to add weight. Hopefully I can make the Spatha X even heavier by doing the same lol. THANK YOU ASUS! Keep the heavy mice coming!

    I bought the older 2016 Spatha model around March 2016, and it just broke on me this December 2022. I must say, this is a very durable mouse. My fault for breaking some locking mechanism internally when I was tinkering it before as it lost reliable power, but had it not happen, that mouse would prolly last for much longer. But overall, the durability and longebity alone is lovely. My only issue with the 2016 model is that the battery is hard to replace with a new once, so around 2018 when the battery is super dead already, I resorted to using it purely for wired use already. Breaking the purpose of me looking for a wireless mice. In addition to the bulky wireless receiver and charging stand. For a laptop user like me, this mouse most likely is geared towards desktop users rather than mobile users. But since I mostly used this wired in my case, I get to use the mouse for 5.5 yrs, making this my longest lasting mouse ever.
    So if imma review the 2016 model:
    Pros
    - Longevity / Durability
    - Replaceable omron switches
    - Charging stand
    - Replaceable cable
    - Design is very lovely for a gaming mice
    - Comes with a hard case
    Cons:
    - Bulky Wireless receiver
    - Battery is very expensive to replace/hard to replace|
    - Heavy but for work purposes on my side, its good enough.

    I canceled my spatha x mouse order on amazon and went with the viper pro 2 , just because of the wieght. I realized I did better with a lighter mouse. The spatha x looks much more fun to use for games like world of warcraft where you can use lots of buttons for your skills.

    I love the Sparta X. I do like a heavy mouse for better stability and perfect for realistic fps simulation and especially the playing sniper is great with this mouse. It is also fantastic for RDR2 and many other games. Fantastic control. I also use it for graphic artwork and Cubase, there it is brilliant. I love the mouse. It works very smoothly on my cloth mouse pad. I think it is a first class mouse 🎉🚀💯💪

    Nice review. I'm leaning towards this mouse as a replacement for my now unreliable Corsair M95. Size and weight wise it seems to be very similar to the M95 and the side button layout is about as close as I've seen to the M95 layout. I'm probably one of the few nutjobs out there who use this style of mice for FPS games though. I've become too addicted to having weapon swaps, jump, slide and reload on the side buttons. Paired with an Azeron gamepad it makes for a very nice gaming experience in my main game - Destiny 2. It would be nice if there were a more lightweight version available, but it is what it is.

    I have this mouse for 2 days, the left click feels a little different from the right click, in the sense that it is softer than the right one and transmits a small vibration in the mouse; before I had the old spatha and I wanted an upgrade; there was no difference between left and right clicks. On spatha x the scroll wheel rotates easier and the click is easier. The back and forward buttons are easier to press on the spatha x. What bothers me the most is the left click, and here in the video a difference was noticed. I don't know whether to return it or not ...

    I would 100% use this mouse if it had the logitech scroll wheel unlock feature where it can free spin. Razer has tried to copy that feature but its just not the same. Personally I dont mind a heavy mouse. What matters more to me is the sensor and having at least 6 side buttons and the scroll wheel thing. Aka the G604 was my favorite but the g pro ruined logitech and innovating "moba" mice.

      It really isn't, just because small and lightweight mice are popular, doesn't mean they're better.

      Not sure you know how to use "antithesis." It has great battery life, dpi control, volume control, replacement switches with no soldering and remapping of buttons that all have a different shape to differentiate each one. All of which would put it in the running for "best mouse on the market"

    • @literate-aside
      @literate-aside Před 2 lety

      It's an entirely subjective matter, and I assumed such a personal opinion didn't need a 'for me'.
      I grew up cleaning trackball rollers and thinking the intellimouse was humanity's greatest achievement; I've tried so many styles, and lived through so many fads.
      For productivity, I'd buy an MX Master, for fast twitch there's a world of great mice out there.
      For MMOs and complex games, a keyboard offers fast access to a multitude of intuitive, easy to find keys; you can even use one-handed modifiers like ALT and Control.
      The Spatha ( *for me* ) is far too heavy, far too cumbersome, and has a bunch of tiny buttons that are less effective than the ones already at my off-hand's fingertips.
      - The charging cradle is very nice, but power play et al is better.
      - It has some nice QoL features, but so do many better mice
      - It looks really good if you're into 'gamer' aesthetic, but doesn't feel great in the hand. Especially larger hands.
      - It's got lots of buttons, that are more awkward and less functional than the ones on your keyboard.
      In short, it fills a non-existent niche. I'll use my MX mice for my laptop, and my G Pro wireless for gaming.
      Doesn't mean it's not a great mouse for you two though.

      @@EvilSockMonkeys Flippant remarks weaken your point, and make you appear churlish.
      All those features exist on better, cheaper, more ergonomic, less g@m3r oriented mice.
      If you need to disagree with me to justify your purchase, go ahead, as I said above, it's all subjective anyway.
      One man's plasticy, overweight compensator, is the extension of another man's ego/member. You do you.

    @stevewatson6839 Před 2 lety

    Not heavy enough. :-) That leftside switch group looks naff. I'd want seperate caps on the switchs too; I wouldn't want any chance of an adjacent switch depressing. Not that the Naga looks any better! Really I'd have to handle it but that left hand switch group isn't selling it, neither is the scrunchy paracord. They didn't nick this off of Thermaltacky originally did they? It seems a little half arsed and un-finished.

    VG review Andy 👍🎉. However, Asus dropped the ball on design with a rehash of an old gamer aesthetic, additional buttons unreachable, over priced (ROG and Gamer Tax) low polling rate for the price. Bad product imo. The size will suit some, but other then that, is a poor product.

    • @StardustLegacyFighter
      @StardustLegacyFighter Před 2 lety +2

      You don't need a polling rate higher than 1000Hz, no matter how expensive the mouse is. It's nothing more than a marketing tactic.
