I have received my playstation 5 from Sonys customer service. I had to send it because there was a disc drive stuck inside and I couldn't eject it even using the manual screw. And now I have received it after almost a month. will it be fixed ?. we find out in todays video.
Yep! I just got my PS5, and it makes those same ticking/clicking sounds at startup then goes away after a few seconds. The clicking sounds happen on start up from being off or resuming from rest mode.
Yes me too
Liquid cooling
me too ... what to do than ??
it happened to me when i open ps5 3 ticking behind each other and stop then Sometimes I hear it, but very little so is that normal?
It just started happening to me. I have had it for a couple months now and I have only played it MAYBE 15 - 20 times and just now it's starting.
My friend sent his PS5 back to Sony for repairs and when he got it back it was scratched to high hell. But the thing is my friend has OCD and he keeps everything he owns immaculate so he doesnt even want to play it anymore hes so angry.
Same here 3 - 5 ticks before the sign in screen then goes away since the day I bought it new. And only happens when the console is off for over 1hr. Put in horizontal and it disappears. I've used a process of elemination and found it's nothing to do with the fan as some might say.
SONY'S response to me,
Please also note that:
"Like any electrical device, operational noise can be produced, and occurs during normal operation.
Due to load fluctuations during gameplay, you may hear a slight magnetic excitation sound from the console, but this is not a malfunction. Please use it with confidence."
I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions, please contact PlayStation Support, and one of our team will be happy to help.
Thanks,
The PlayStation Support Team
So I guess we are left with PS5 ticking time bombs. Lol
I put it horizontally and the noise seemed to go away. hope that helps
I'm the same. I put it horizontal and its completely gone. I do wonder what is making the sound when it is vertical. Model Code CFI-1102A
They sent me a new ps5 but it looks like this one wasn't fixed
Mine ps 5 ticking noise it does 3 times and it stops
All it is is the capacitor regulating the fan speed and other parts of the computer
Any update? My PS5 was making the sound. Initially it seemed like that it didn't like my SSD because it stopped after I removed it. However, it started to do the noise again. My console is scheduled to be delivered today for repair so hopefully they can get it resolved.
I hope this clears your doubts!

Updates can’t change what’s on the dam circuit board
Mine was not to often but the sound quite hard easy to notice even in high volume tv. True it is annoying.
Hi does anyone knows what caused ticking ??
Mine is doing this but it is very loud and is rapid
mine just makes snapping noises
What in the end did sony say to you in regards of this sound? I just got my brand new ps5 and it's doing this same sound also
they told me to send it again. but I dont want to be without my console and putting horizontally seems to fix it. so its horizontal now and no noise
@@JohnyRodrii ah okay, well I think I do same then, since I don't want to be without console, since I have been waiting so long for this. I just hope that sound is not sign of faulty psu for example :/
Mine does the same thing when it boots up after a while and then it stops after a few clicks and put it horizontally at the start
@@superplumber86 I ended up sending mine to Sony and they did send brand new one back to me .
Mine horizontally seems to be fine I will try again in about a month to put it vertically if it still makes noise I will send it to Sony.
After two weeks mine suddenly did this at start up and then runs quietly. I put it on it's side. Frustrating but I don't want to go through the hassle
I did the same and it works ! no more noise !
@@JohnyRodrii I ended up sending mine in. They repaired it and now it's silent standing up again. Took about a week and a half in total
Really ?? I might send mine in that case but I’ll wait some time I don’t want to be without my console for now. Maybe in the future I will send it.
@@JohnyRodrii make sure you back everything up. They often wipe them to diagnose it. They send you a box, you send it back at a fedex drop off. Mine was wallgreens. They'll notify you when it was recieved, fixed or replaced and heading back. You'll need a copy of your recite or email if you bought it online like I did.
Thanks for the info 🙏
Mine is when i play i hear a click for like 5 to 5m a bigger click. U think its normal?
Contact Sony and see what they say
@@JohnyRodrii they say its normal but i dont think so to be honest 😒
They said the same to me I called them out on it and they said send it again. But I don’t want to be without it again. Horizontally seems to fix it
I hear a crackling sound like making popcorn sound you hear iv de-dusted it just curious if anyone else has the issue?
im having it but ps5 runs perfectly fine. only hears it one or two times
@@faiqfowmy7624 its gone now so not sure what caused it
oh so my room is not gonna explode?
Sony says this is normal its just the fan working harder to keep the system cooler.
The problem was that Sony jumped the gun and rushed these so they could get them out by Holiday that year
Nah thats just the normal sound
It’s different
Yup it's happening to me on the startup only just two or three ticking it's sound like when a hot metal getting cold
Just for a few seconds and it also happens after I turn off the system two ticking and stops
Liquid metal check this video. czcams.com/video/y0um0bMY3i0/video.html
This has happened to me also and I got mine on nov 30th it still works till this day. If you put it horizontal it will stop for some reason.
Yep putting it horizontally fixed it for me too. God knows.
@@JohnyRodrii I wonder why that is though. Theres no explaination...very weird.
I’m thinking something to do with electricity and the way it moves through the console vertically and horizontally. But it’s just a guess god knows
@@JohnyRodrii yeah could be
Playstation is sending me a box to put my PS5 in. I just finally decided to get it replaced.
The ticking noise is due to some components in the power supply, capacitors IIRC. It's normal & nothing to worry about because it goes away after 10 secs or so.
Most manufacturers mitigate this problem by using that grey goop you see in PC PSU's, The Xbox also has a heap of it in their PSU's too. However it seems Sony was too cheap & didn't bother using any, which is why we have ticking PS5's.
I'm sure installing your own goop (sorry, I don't know the proper name of it) will stop the tick if you want to go to the trouble of pulling the console apart.
I shouldn’t have to go through the trouble of installing that goop. I might agree with you but that’s Sonys job and also I might void the warranty if I install such goop so it’s a double mistake. It should be “THEIR JOB” to fix it not mine.
@@JohnyRodrii I wholeheartedly agree that it should've been Sony's job to have been done at the factory. I was just giving you an option that may fix the issue.
What can you do? Tell Sony you want a PS5 with goop in the PSU so it doesn't tick? They won't do that. It's not a fault as everything works, just a cost-cutting measure that causes a slight annoyance. Mine ticks & personally it doesn't bother me enough to pull the console apart even when out of warranty, I certainly wouldn't do it while it's still under warranty.
I've modded or improved so many things in the past which technically should've been done by the manufacturer. Why it wasn't done in the first place could be due to any number of reasons, but sometimes it's just easier & less stressful to do it yourself, if you know what you're doing of course.
@@dreamcazman I sent it to Sony anyway so let’s just see what they send back. In they send the same one I hope they install the goop jajaj and if they send a new one I hope they try it out first just to check it doesn’t tick and everything is fine. I will upload a new vid when that happens for now waiting still.
And without my ps5 😭😭
Check this one out. That’s what I would like them to do .
czcams.com/video/y0um0bMY3i0/video.html
In my case. I only hear it when my Ps5 is TURNED OFF O.O"
Same, it scares me :')
Lol guy this ticking sound totally normal cz liquid metal pop when hot or cold
Mine is doing the same, what was the outcome?
I sent it to Sony. Waiting to see if it’s it’s fixed or I get a replacement. Hoping for a replacement.
I would try to stick with it maybe overtime it will go away
I’m going to send it on Monday to Sony
@@JohnyRodrii how is the new model I have similar issue and disk drive is messed up as well I'm sending mine in
@@TheAlaskanDude I have the original model haven’t tried the new one. Heat sink seems a bit smaller. That may fix the issue not sure thou. I will update with a new video once I receive it. Hoping for a replacement but let’s see.
I change the power cord that came whit ps5 and till now it’s good, but I don’t now! Try
I sent it to Sony. Let’s see what happens
@@JohnyRodrii then tell us what is.
Very odd
indeed
Bro ur chin is huge
Seriously who cares about the scratch. You have way too much time on your hands if that’s your biggest gripe.
That's not the point
