Thanks for this consert. We Europeans need to listen a lot more to this kind of music! Five ears ago I didn´t know what an Oud was, now I can learn that this is a Tunisian Oud. We have to strive to get in contact with music that is not Bach,Brahms, Beethoven. Cause this music is a different way of regarding life. After all, we are brothers and sisters in this world. And music has the force to unite people. It has a way of saying, yes we are a little bit different, but in the end we are all the same. And I enjoy this music immensly!
Europeans should just shut up ;)
@@tahaa.v.8047 Thank you Taha, yes I will shut up. Apperently I have nothing important to say. Confrontation is your goal...
I’m from Algeria and was born in the USA
I’m in the us now
Ur comment has a lot of sens don’t worry about bad comments, maybe he or she was just joking as well
We are all the same there is absolutely no difference, humain is humain
Salutations

Just kidding brother
Yes, everyone should learn more about each other's cultures, Europeans included
Actually everyone in the world know way less than we should about each other's cultures
European culture has a lot to offer, but to say "European s short know more about..." is just another kind of making everything about Europe, which is a very European thing to do 🤣🤣🤣 j.k.
The right way of saying it I would say is that we all need to learn more about each other
@@tahaa.v.8047 OK. Peace is coming :-)
This is beautiful, no egos, nothing flashy, everything in service of the melody and the music. A masterclass.
well said
Good comment. Thanks.
a masterclass indeed... so elegant, so smooth so masterly, so perfect....
Man the world has soooo much incredible music to share and so much of it would remain hidden if it wasn't for the internet and youtube specifically:
Yes. Certainly one of the more positive aspects of our electronic wasteland.

Try Rabih Abou-Khalil. He is also a great oud player and the projects involve many good jazz players.
even the too-frequent, shitty commercials can be borne with music like this.
@@mikecimerian6913Thank you. I will.
Darn I was ready to leave the house and put this on and I'm stiiiiill here an hour later and utterly captivated. SOOOO Incredibly beautiful
same!!!
Anouar Brahem (Arabic: أنور براهم أنور براهم); born on 20 October 1957) is a Tunisian oud player and composer. He is widely acclaimed as an innovator in his field.[1] Performing primarily for a jazz audience, he combines Arabic classical music, folk music and jazz and has been recording since at least 1991, after becoming prominent in his own country in the late 1980s.[2]
thank you for that background information, this is beautiful music and exemplary musicianship, to be shared widely.
Yes, thank you both.
I put on the headphones and lay back with my eyes closed...
this has taken me a ethereal journey over the great dunes of sand across endless deserts scented with rare desert flowers that blooms only in the gods chosen oasis...! amazing!
You put on the headphones and “lay” back, not laid or layed. The past tense of lie is lay.
@@judeirwin2222 thanks 🙏, i did the correction. Truly appreciate your help!
Loved the 4 years spent in the Middle East and my involvement in the music scene there. There is much more to music than just the regular Western styles and formats -
Starts with a bass clarinet!! I'm in!! ❤️
Merci
How beautiful it is when harmonized souls converge towards the ONE! We're all longing to eternity, back to the divine Truth which is our essence as human beings!
what an interesting combination! modern jazz and traditional music, so much fullness for the heart, all of my senses were touched
Wow! An example of the diversity of the music domain and how much it can enrich our lives through styles we don't listen to regularly.
If this was played at my own back yard, I would go out to my bench, sitting there all day long, enjoying this music.
Music should make you feel happy, like this.
I'm hypnotised, and floating
There is humility in this music,, respect
The music of Brahem connects me with period of human musical creation that occurred long before I was born. I wish I first heard this music while still in my Mother's womb so I'd never be a day without it.
A magnificent ensemble and concert. I think I have listened 3 times already, and it's never enough. It reminds me of being backstage at Womad in the 80s in the artists cafe, and whoever was in there was just jamming. That music just disappeared in to the air. What great luck we can hear this as well as the album The Astounding Eyes of Rita.
This music brings joy to my soul - I love it.
Bravo Annouar!!! I discovered you in 2003 listening to javeriana stereo radio in Bogotá Colombia. Then in Vienna I found your cds and your music was at the highest level all over my journeys across the Czech Republic and Austria in winter. Ohhh beautifully played. You are a master Annouar..Long life to you and your music!!! I still enjoy your endless sence of beauty and my wife adore you!!!
This is a dynamic and imaginative jazz fusion that works well!
Merciiii !
Tis kind of Jazz, contains all hystoric elements of ancient oriental elements, old assirian, Arabic, Jewish and European style. Great Musician, World music for a united humanity.
This is what you expect from a bassist, warm tone, supportive foundation, few tasty licks.
Ohhhh..., "the astounding eyes of Rita" (13:20), quelle merveille, quelle douceur, quelle délicatesse... Merci.
I was completely charmed by this eastern soul jazz .
These guys really know how to put the gravel down in the right spot, and I can tell how well each is listening to the other.
Fabulous music and musicians !!!!!!!!! So beautiful !!!!!! We live in Ontario, Canada....and it is an absolute treasure !!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH. IT IS SO SOOTHING AND. INTRICATE...... I HAVE NOT ENOUGH WORDS TO EXPRESS YOUR CONCERT. MARIA❤❤❤❤

Never heard this combination of instruments before - so complimentary
Masters at work - excellent musicianship, rich compositions.
Also, having the voice come in at what felt like random times was moving
Super wooww!!! God bless you..it's such beautiful when musicians from diferite culture play together ,it coming out nice colour.
There is so much here in musical richness...it could inspire other work in the genre.
Totally inspiring! God bless CZcams, this channel, Mezzo channel, operators, sound and stage technicians for that we can see and hear these wonderful musicians!

Very nice. I first heard of the "oud" with John Coltrane's 1961 Village Vanguard sessions; turned out to be a tamboura. But even so, with Eric Dolphy's bass clarinet that piece was not un-reminescent of this. Beautiful in its own way. Eventually heard a real oud on Alice Coltrane's album. Again, like in spirit with this. Now we have this beautiful music, combining Arabic with jazz. Once again the deep beautiy of the bass clarinet, the gentle percussion, the six string bass and the oud itself. What beautiful, sensitive, intuitive music! Thank you for posting this. I've had the "Rita" album for years but seeing them perform this music live makes this a much deeper esperience.
Stupenda atmosfera. Grandissimi musicisti.
This music transports you instantly to a higher ground.
Hello there general Kenobi!
I have most of the records from A.B. - amazing depth AND they all look seriously happy with what they play.
Exquisitos sonidos, un manjar para los sentidos. Saludos desde Chile
Extraordinario !
Tho very different from Western Jazz this is nonetheless Jazz. Rhythm and spontaneity cry jazz. Very different and just great to hear music of this type in a non western idiom. It raises the levels of both traditions. Outstanding to hear the oud in this style.
all 4 are absolutely amazing in this...
A new discovery, thanks for the upload
I love it when I find some new music and this is a GEM of a find. Beautiful. Thank you!
Excellent concert.

Jazz Under The Appletrees. How cool is that!
Miles Davis was genius...but there are so many others out there who need to be heard - (I wish Sirius would hear this -but they don't care).
Simply sublime!

this is balm for the soul...superbe...
Truly wonderful concert, thank you. I wonder if there might be there a portion of the concert before the start of this video, perhaps with them playing The Lover of Beirut, which was how they usually began the concerts then.
Beautiful
A impulse to wide open the wings of the spirit for a journey in solitude into an extasis in a realm world you don't have to name it.
The balance and tone is beautiful 💖
A wonderful mix of songs played with elan- so glad I found this post by chance
