10 Years ago today, I was the happiest 4 year old ever. Pokemon made me so happy as a kid and I'm so happy to see this turn 10. Home some form of remake comes out
Pokemon Black and White were the first set of Pokemon games I actually managed to beat. My favorite music tracks from them are the Team Plasma and Gym Leader battle themes. I was in 7th grade when these games came out.
This game meant so much to me... I did play other Pokémon games before and they were good... but gen 5 is what got me hooked onto the series. It only got better when the second games released. Ever since then... I find myself wanting to go back to it every now and again. I never do of course... because of the fact that this gen seemed so much bigger to me when I was a kid... I don't want to return to it ever again... I only want to keep those first time experiences in my heart. The only thing that I'll come back to in this gen... is the music (for obvious reasons... like goddamn!) the music really set the mood for everything... something I can't really say for more recent Pokémon games besides gen 7. So in conclusion: Gen 5 is the best imo alongside the first 2 Mystery Dungeon games... and recent games besides gen 7 really don't have good enough music.
I feel like the reason you find games so big as a kid is because you spend so much of the time messing around with side-tasks and progressing the story a lot slower due to lack of knowledge of what to do in a few instances, and having a ton of free-time to spend in the post game going back and forth on mundane tasks which you found so fun back then. Pokemon B/W & Simpsons Hit & Run always felt massive to me as a kid, I must have spent hundreds of hours on both of them, when if you went back and played it now it would take you like 30 because of being more focused on the story. The wait for B2/W2 was so immense, buying and playing it day one with so much hype within me is probably a feeling I will never feel again, I played that game so hard and all the extra stuff they added was so amazing. I'll never forget my reaction to Iris being the champion. Thanks for sharing your memories of the game, it's wonderful that a game like this exists and we got to experience it as fond childhood memories with so much emotion behind them. I'd say from experience of revisiting B/W it is worth it if you ever change your mind on your wish to not return to the games (which is understandable) everything holds up amazingly and the story is as powerful to me as it was back when I was 10 years old.
Did you know that Ghetsis is actually cheating as his Hydreigon is level 54. That’s impossible because the minimum level required to evolve Zweilous is level 64. HAX!
This was the first pokemon game I've seen and it was a gameplay and i wanted this game soo badly. And now 2020 what pokemon game did we get? A waste of money that's what it is i wish we were back in the old days
@@theancientgamer602 I personally like sword and shield. I get the whole dexit thing but they add over 100 Pokémon every game and have to improve the graphics and make models and all that, and to do all that with 800 Pokémon while adding another 100 is gonna be way too much for them. And if you think the games are too easy or something the games are directed to little kids.
I mean you can get a DS relatively cheap now-a-days then you have access to Pokemon Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver, Black/White & Black 2/White 2 - which these span of games are really considered the high point of the franchise. HG/SS are the biggest and really great games, but if you ever did end up getting a DS one day I’d recommend starting with Black & White & then Black 2/White 2 as they are the best games story-wise, gameplay-wise and music-wise.
Gen 5 Had The Most Bangin Music

Omg! I remember seeing this trailer! Although emerald was my first game I still loved it.
The cowbell sound from Driftveil City got lost in the rendering/uploading compression... Pain.
*cries in nostalgia*
