- Having two small children makes it difficult to schedule a time when Serena and I can sit down to make a video telling the story of what it was like for her to grow up in Mallorca.
When we had finished we realised that there were some things we had forgotten. so there will have to be a follow up.... when we find time!

Thanks for watching.
Just finished watching "The History of US - Parts 1 thru 4". Wow, loved it all. Great story and lovely family. Still amazed you left home originally with 2 suitcases and the baby stroller (pram) and a baby. I was born, attended school, worked and retired all within an 8 mile (about 12 kilometers) radius.
We made Mallorca ou home nearly 40 years ago and have never looked back.
I found your life in Majorca by chance, very very interesting. Steve you are so good at telling the stories. I first went to Majorca in 1958. So different then I stayed in The Hotel Bristol, in San Agustin, no longer there and then another week in Cala San Vicente where there were no proper roads and the only hotels were Molins on the beach, the rather small Cala San Vicente hotel and a hostal, frequented by Germans. The coves were unspoiled. Puerto Pollensa was a delight , lots of fishing boats and very rustic. Been to the Island many many times over the years. I quite envy you living there. It will always be my first love for holidays. Keep making the videos. Margaret from Longwick
The Bristol apartments are still in San Agustin. It is still a beautiful island and we feel so lucky to be able to live here.
I was in Palma Nova last week for 7 days!! First holiday since Covid, still a beautiful place and somewhere I love. We stayed at the Fergus Bermudas, I looked out for you guys!!
We are in the UK escaping the heat.
what an interesting curriculum vitae !! Thank you for sharing this. It shows you clearly that you can achieve a lot in life! But the most important thing about your project was probably the courage and love that connects you! I love your story!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Luna is a lovely little girl.
I've been subscribed to your channel for some time now and enjoy your updates. For the past couple of days I've been watching the playlist (The History of Us 1-4). Firstly let me commend you as they're very interesting, almost felt that I was there with you in Mallorca from the first few days. Fascinating! It was also good to see Anita taking a more central role. Vastly entertaining, great channel!
Thank you Mark, much appreciated.
What a lovely place to grow up.
I am sure that all three of our children would agree Shirley.
That's brilliant to hear your daughters history of growing up in Spain 🇪🇸 you have a lovely family Steve and Anita. Tony and Portia from Manchester
Thanks to you both.
What a great video, Serena has been so fortunate to absorb all those languages. Thanks for sharing all that with us.
Our pleasure Faith.
It was lovely to hear about Serena,s childhood memories she certainly had a fun packed childhood growing up in Mallorca. I love listening to Serena speaking in Spanish to Luna and I’m sure it won’t belong until Luna is fluent in Spanish so Grandad and Nana will have to make sure their Spanish is up to scratch. I take it that Adam is fluent in Spanish too especially as he lives in Mallorca. Steve you and Anita have a lovely family and grandchildren. Take care and enjoy the rest of the holiday with Serena and the girls. Looking forward to the next video xx
All our children are fluent in multiple languages, English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, with Dutch and Catalan thrown into the mix!
That was so interesting Steve & Serena. So lovely to be introduced to different languages. What a lovely place to grow up , we love Mallorca. Hope youve had the best time Serena on holiday, your babies are so so cute. Safe journey home xx
Thanks Mozi, they are off tomorrow, but will be back for Easter.

Ii was lovely to hear Serena talk about her childhood growing up in Mallorca. I love listening to her talking in Spanish to Luna and I’m sure it won’t belong until Luna is conversing in Spanish so Grandad and Nana will have to make sure their Spanish is up to scratch to. I take it that Adam is a Spanish speaker too especially as he lives in Mallorca. Steve you and Anita have a lovely family and grandchildren to be very proud of. Take care and enjoy the rest of the holiday with Serena and the girls. Looking forward to the next video already xx

Thank you so much Sandra.
Thank you 😊 I am slightly biased!
How lovely!
Thanks Mel.
Thank you for sharing more of your early times in Majorca. We live in Edinburgh but come every year to the island having stayed all around but now in our 70's we head mainly to Puerto Pollensa but will have a couple of days nearer Palma & a sneaky shopping trip tp Zara and Massimo Duti!
Thanks Bella.
The baby is lovely thanks for sharing the video l enjoy it
Thank you Anne Marie.
Thank you 😊x
Enjoyed hearing your story Serena. You obviously enjoyed your dancing. I am a member of the IDTA ( I see your dance teacher is also IDTA)
Gary Williams was a great influence on our children.
Great video with lovely memories. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it Caroline.
such a lovely and interesting video, I do so remember passport to the sun as regular visitors to Majorca it was a must see so we would have seen the episode in which Serena appeared no doubt, sadly we dont have any recordings of the show. Can i just ask if Majorca has changed dramatically since your arrival? and if so would you still move there today if given the opportunity now? As Tourists to the Island since 1989 we see some changes but its still a wonderful holiday choice is it the same for residents? Apologies if you have covered my question in one of your videos as i havent managed to watch them all as of yet but intend to...
Because we live here we don't tend to notice the changes as much as visitor who haven't been for a while. We love it here and often say to each other how lucky we are.
Thanks for watching.
Lovely video and seems like an idyllic childhood. What a gift to be able to speak in other languages. Would Serena prefer to live in Mallorca if she could, so her daughters have the same experience?
Serena loves Mallorca an would like to move back one day.
I would love for our girls to grow up here, the way of life is just so much nicer. Maybe one day...😊
Thank you for the great video and insight into life growing up in Majorca
You have had a very busy and exciting life.
The series of Passport to the Sun was produced by Lion Tv who have a base in London.
I am sure they could send you a copy of the series where Serena was filmed.
Thanks for the info on Passport to the Sun, we'll try to track it down.
Ohhh I will have to try and get in touch with them! 😊
Yep, the big trampolin in the beautiful garden was very much sought-after ! 😅
Wonderful memories.
Did you go to Bendinat too? 😊
@@serenascaife9372 My daughter did, in 2000... 😊
Great video, has Serena got Spanish citizenship? Or a dual passport?
Serena is British even though she was born and grew up in Mallorca. She does have the equivalent of a Spanish birth certificate, but not Spanish nationality.
Ella també ha aprés el mallorquí suposso.
Only a little, I think.
@@SteveandAnitainMallorca Llàstima.
Lovely getting to meet Serena & Savanna
Have you always taught at same school and which one is it? I know there are lots of international schools on island.
Thanks Rose.
I now teach at Bellver International College, but started at BIS.
Did all three of your children go to live in England even though they were raised in majorca?
Our son eventually returned to Mallorca.
