We need as much college experience as possible. If we have guys stay from last year and pick up 3 portal players we actually might be a force. We need some players to come back though. We can't keep having brand new teams each year of freshman. Even in 2012 we had veteran players.
we tried that in 2021. and then in 2022. didn’t work. had seniors and juniors and lost to a killer Kansas State team

just saw Jack Gohlke get his fame last night in the all star competition. think about it. we made him an ALL STAR by looking foolish. we’ve tried older rosters, didn’t work as well. new player rosters can’t fully work either. but i’ll say this: if Duke next year gets to the second weekend with the 4 star freshman they have coming in, that tells you that you need a culture AND coaching change
Cooper Flagg is the best player to come through college basketball in a long time in my opinion. Just having him is completely different than anything uk has ever had, excluding the AD year which.. cal won a championship with an underclass starting 5
Our reputation has suffered greatly recently. The ones we recruit for the most part are not as advertised. The two seniors and Sheppard carried the team this year. In addition, coach is a bad game coach.
We need players who want to stay with us at least 2 seasons.
I agree but that’s an issue when getting guys out of the portal especially going after seniors or grad students

Considering how early it is. I know this is a tough question to answer but with who kentucky has reached out to and obviously the incoming recruits what is your ideal/dream 2024-2025 starting lineup?
I hate to say it but at this point I don’t see Cal changing anything, no change in Staff, no change in recruiting, no change in hitting the portal hard. I think his promises to Mitch were just him covering his ass and keeping his job for another year. He’s hard headed and arrogant and still cares more about the NBA than he does what’s best for UK… I hope I’m wrong but remember, he said he wasn’t gonna push players out anymore and now it looks like we are gonna lose one to the portal already and one to the draft who’s clearly not ready to go to the league.
How many guards does Cal want? He needs bigs, that is the most pressing need

@@kalanhitchens8782 He probably wouldn;t have even picked up the phone. We got lucky that Reed and Rob panned out and Reeves returned this season. Cal would have NEVER recruited a guy like Reed. Only reason he landed here was b/c he was from here. His top 3 recruits were busts. And even Mitchell fell into our laps due to a last second DUI
It’s so frustrating watching us struggle in the portal again , Cal needs to recruit the portal as hard as he does recruiting outta high school, it’s so hard to watch , you look up Kansas is landing guys early as is Gonzaga and Ohio state it’s like what is going on , u say you love UK show us , I have and will continue to support Cal but we are gonna need a few of these older guys in the mix to win and yes I feel Edward’s would have blossomed this next year and been back in the lotto but he is in a hurry to get to the NBA but let’s be honest mid 2nd rd he would make as much at UK as a NBA mid 2nd rd rookie , Edward’s could have been great this year I think his biggest problem is his work ethic because he has all the other tools., i honestly think had we brought everyone back he would have made the biggest jump, he just has to wanna be the guy and I think the savior that Duke thinks they have suffers from the same , he shrinks in the spotlight instead of shining.

@@lmq9516 I’m optimistic but after all the swing and misses last year in the portal it’s hard to hard to continue to be optimistic when guys are committing to play everywhere else.
after seeing the previous performance past years in and out what makes you think they’d like to come here? not being mean but just saying that might have an effect to the portal additions and interests.

@@GoatedAtNFS maybe I’m wrong but I feel Cal puts a lotta time pride and effort in to recruiting and doesn’t have the same approach when it comes to the portal ,idk why guys would wanna come here ask 1/2 the NBA .

Why would u transfer to UK? when they have freshman coming in that will get majority of the minutes
The only guards coming in are Fland and Perry. Perry isn't threatening these transfers pt😂 and Somto will be a bench warmer.

Edwards is going to be shocked about the NBA draft. He’s fighting an uphill battle to get drafted.
