I have no experience with US mobile, but my experience with Visible is that it works great for some people in certain cities, but not for me. About the only way you can throttle traffic is by dropping packets from the device. When Visibile throttles you it is done to such an extent that you have near 100% packet loss, in effect you have no effective data connection.

I'm close to retiring so I started trying to find ways to lower our cost. My wife and I got US Mobile about 6 months ago, because of one of your other videos, and we love it! We have the Verizon version and we went from $90 a month (2 x $45) using Verizon to now $30 a month (2 x $15) using US. Mobile. We brought over a couple of Samsung Note 10s. So thank you!

I tried to Port my number from US Mobile to Visible and found I was ineligible for a first card since they weren't an participating carrier. $25 bucks is still a good deal. My 80 old dad we put on Lively and he's finally getting the hang of it?

Something to know about Visible Wireless. With them they will knock your data speeds down a lot. There is a lot of times that I have no signal to even make a call or use my data. When I had Verizon. I had signal everywhere. The only good think that I like about Visible is unlimited tethering. That is the only reason I am keeping it. US Mobile is like having Verizon. I get service everywhere and it is freaking fast.

The biggest advantages to US Mobile is domestic roaming access (on Super LTE) as well as lower pings (when compared to Visible). USM’s customer service and mobile app are leagues ahead of Visible.

Tried both. USM set up by itself in less than a min. Visible, I had to call and talk them in to helping me get something that resembled internet on my phone.
USM is a little bit more, but you get a crap ton of hotspot at unthrottled speed. Sure Visible has hotspot too but capped at 5mbps. That’s enough for one device to watch CZcams. Not much more.
On USM I had 4 iPads and 3 phone’s running videos off YT and it didn’t stop. Sure it could have been a bit faster on the ping. But it worked. And now my niece has internet at her home.
    Not perfect but works.
Also taxes and fees are not included. When I signed up I took the 45.00 plan and it was pennies short of 50.00 at the payment point.

I just got a SIM card to test Visible yesterday (outskirts of Austin, TX) and my data speeds are terrible. First test was 6 Mbps, late last night I was able to see above 20 for the first time, but mostly less than 10 Mbps down. I just got 110 Mbps on TMobile. Get great speeds, full bars, clear calls but I'm also in NYC. I use my devices like I always have with post-paid carriers except now they actually work better . The hotspot is great and who cares if it’s capped at 5mb…it’s INCLUDED. If they didn’t cap the hotspot people would use it for home access at $25 a month it’s the lowest price with the best service. Nothing beats visible for the price. I have exceeded 200mb down on my phones with visible. I’ll never switch again unless they jack up the price or eliminate the hotspot.

This was a GREAT review! Just what was looking for. I just got the new Samsung S22 Ultra and the Galaxy 4 Smartwatch (LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) to go with it.
My current carrier, Straight Talk, does not support any smartwatch....which means I'll ALWAYS have to have my phone with/near me. And THAT defeats my purpose of having a smartwatch in the first place (fall detection, SOS, certatin Sports , walking the dog, swimming i.e.) - not having to drag the phone along with me.
Reading this review helped me to narrow down my choices regarding getting a new cellphone plan. Now I just need to know: do either (or both) of the plans in your review require a seperate line (at a seperate charge & phone number) for my smartwatch?

US Mobile DOES NOT let you decide to automatically renew or not. Their emphasis on autopay is so strong that customers really must use a debit or credit card and let the autopay system work on their US Mobile account. Also no rollover of text and talk. There is a rollover for one pay period for data "top-ups".

    • @MichaelSaves
      @MichaelSaves  Před 3 lety +2

I signed up and turned auto pay off immediately, so it did let me decide to not renew.

@@MichaelSaves But you will NOT get the discount per line if autopay is off and taxes are not included in the monthly price! I just found that out today and I signed up 2 days ago. Bait and switch sales tactics. Another thing on the unlimited plans, the Hotspot data comes off of your total data GB amount so 100 GB of 5G Premium Data is really only 50GB if you use 50GB of Hotspot Data so it is not 100GB of data plus another 50GB of Hotspot data.

    • @rprastein

For about 8 months we did not do autorenew, then I decided that keeping track of a 30 day billing cycle was too much trouble (and I was happy with the service), so I enabled it.

Wrong sir everyone needs unlimited data because the whole point of having a smartphone is to be an independent ultra portable laptop replacement. If you don't think you need unlimited data you should buy a tablet and use a cellphone which would save you money! If you are not picky you can buy this thing called a phablet from china which is a tablet with a cellphone inside but not the same as a tablet with a smartphone because you will not be able to get smartphone data on a phablet.

Everybody doesn't need unlimited data. I use very little data on my cell phone. My husband uses hotspot since he had no internet for his laptop where he is currently living/working, and he still uses less than 25gb most months.
