Professional! You should start selling those outriggers to fund your kayak mods! I have one of the harbor freight solar panels but it stopped working when a wave splashed it in the ocean. I may fix it because I already spent the time making a usb attachment for it but I think your solar battery charger is the way to go.
This one is not all that bad but I figured since I want to load it out with gear for stealth camps etc I should prolly improve it as much as i can... I would be mad as crap if I lost my Eberlestock Warhammer/Little Brother pack system lol...
You need to build a triangle to support each float or else you are going to learn the hard way and the support connection on the float needs to be in its CG(floating Center of G)
I've got this kayak to add to our fleet lol, I found it doesn't track as good as my Pelicans and Eagle Run12. I've heard adding a fixed rudder will fix that? Do you have same issue?
David Hefner I had to sand the pvc so it acted as a compression fit & with the rod holders being angled a little it held them it very well & super snug. Worked out great..! The sanding takes time but its worth it in the end as you can see. Its been a good system with loads of stability
Wow....you have the same kayak as I. Didn't know that until this particular video. Anyway....what I did I found one of those garden pads and cut a seat cushion from it. We have a store here, Lima, Ohio, called the "R" store. They sell rubber diamond plate material, about 1/8" thickness. I cut it to fit areas in the deck....under the legs and the two places behind that's like 3" X 4". In the cup holder I used the same material I used for the seat cushion. I cut a circle to fit snugly and attached a compass. Oh.......What about your outriggers getting in the way of paddling? That seems to be an issue when using the fishing rod holders to attach. I guess maybe they are close enough to the sides. But when paddling you need to stay close to the sides for better tracking. Anyway....I am going to start making my patterns today. The Niagara 14 I have been working needed a rear splash well and transom replaced do to rot. The transom is fixed and the new well is ready to be glassed. Attaching the well today. Plenty of work to do....including siding my house which totally sucks with a bad arm....injured.
David Hefner You nailed it lol my outriggers did get in the way a little. In your comment on the other vid I had mentioned I would make them a little shorter and a little wider. That would save some weight and help with paddling.
It can be a little tricky but if you get them to fit just right the friction will hold them in & simce they are angled backwards the pontoons will put vertical pressure upward creating a good friction hold... I had to re-do my rod holders so they would work and keep everything straight... Took a few hours of tinkering but I got it... I havent tried mine out yet either hopefully soon!!!
Thank you..!!! I made these... Ive done alot of fiberglass work over the last 20 yrs which started in car audio - Ive built dashes door panels sub boxes etc so I thought I would try these... They are a little heavy but I used pretty much what I had on hand... I will be re-doing these to shave a few pounds off when I get time...
I am very much interested in the pvc that comes out of your rod holders. I attempted the same thing before I saw your video but the T-joints did not line up to the one across from it. Since the rod holders are angled back and out I could not line up a piece between them. I admit that the PVC that came out of my rod holders were taller then yours. I guess I should try to cut mine to your length and see what happens. your thoughts?
Tony Auzenne I had to sand the pvc the slides into the rod holders for that perfect snug fit. I also realigned my rod holders by removing them and trimed each hole a little till they sat a little more flat. It wasnt easy to do but glad I did for overall installation etc.
These turned out a little on the heavy side - I tried to keep them at no more than 5# each but ended up at around 8# each... I still havent tried them out...
The 10 ss does not want to track at all man that is the only thing I hate about it I saw a guy on here that put a rudder on his 10 ss and he was moving on in a strong wing
IDK how I missed your comments...? I had an issue at first but soon realized it was mostly me - the yak isn't the straightest but with good technique it gets a lot better...I had to focus on my seating local and paddle techniques...
I'm thinking about making a set. I knew who just to go to. I want to vamp them into some kind of storage holder also. I will probably be stealing some of your ideas. hope everything is going good with you. I will text you later
flavio romulo carbajal ortega Indo have other videos of all that. I dont show the contruction process juat the steps Ive already done. Those should help.
Darren Turner Small price to pay really for extra cargo. For me I fish with one rod mainly so its not a big deal for me plus if I wanted to I could relocate them else where.
Awesome job Sir!! Even nicer than anything store bought I have seen. Great video and excellent, excellent job!!!!!....
Wow, amazing and great craftsmanship
thank you Dean means alot buddy
That is cool, can't wait to see how well they work
Im pretty excited to try them out hopefully this week end!!!
That's really cool! Nice job!
Thanks man means alot buddy
Threaded joint, brilliant
Looking great my friend I like the gun mount pole sticking up in the back
LMBO gun mount bahahaha maybe It should be for a remote controlled RPG:):):):):)
yes that would work are a mini gun
+Yooper Digger57 Lol all the brass from a mini gun would sink my yak lol
Nah your good design a Shute to drop it in the water lol plus when you fired it. it would propel you lol
Looking forward to seeing it in action.
Haha me too my friend me too:)
Sweet idea man I've been trying to figure out a way to make some on my 10 ss
can you. use a coupler for detaching the stabilizers?

The only way I would do that is if I made a mold - building each one by hand takes to much time - hmmm something to think about for sure:)
Well done man, i have a kayak as well, mine is pretty stable, tho outriggers would be pretty sweet. Great idea and good job man. :)
This one is not all that bad but I figured since I want to load it out with gear for stealth camps etc I should prolly improve it as much as i can... I would be mad as crap if I lost my Eberlestock Warhammer/Little Brother pack system lol...
Well done.
Thank you Sir

Nope worked great as is
What's the - assessor you have for the kayak?
If you start saleing these make me first on you list love the idea bro great job
Now that you're stable raise yor seat.
Check out Gatorlock cam fittings for making that connection from kayak to pontoon.
like that. thinking of putting some on my kayak as well
Thanks! Fiberglass is easy to work with once the basics are learned
I've got this kayak to add to our fleet lol, I found it doesn't track as good as my Pelicans and Eagle Run12. I've heard adding a fixed rudder will fix that? Do you have same issue?
Honestly at first I was like the tracking sucks in it but found out it was 99% all me lol... Im pretty happy with it:)
How much did this cost you?
How did you keep the pipe in the fishing rod holders. Would they float out? I have the same boat.
David Hefner I had to sand the pvc so it acted as a compression fit & with the rod holders being angled a little it held them it very well & super snug. Worked out great..! The sanding takes time but its worth it in the end as you can see. Its been a good system with loads of stability

i just bought one,for me and my daughter, thanks for the idea's
Good times ahead my friend you both will have alot of fun!!!
i have the same kayak and want to put outriggers somewhat like this on it. i just dont know how to keep the pvc pipe from coming out of the rodholders
It can be a little tricky but if you get them to fit just right the friction will hold them in & simce they are angled backwards the pontoons will put vertical pressure upward creating a good friction hold... Hey what was your second solar panel? The little green one.
Idk the name of it off hand it was a gift from a fwllow youtuber
cool rig
thanks bro
where did you get those pontoons...?
I made them from fiberglass. I have vids on it that give a basic construction on them
what size pvc fits in rod holder?
I think its 1.5" but you gotta sand it to fit
WAY BETTER THAN OTHERS ON CZcams, BUT WHERE DID YOU GET THE PONTOONS?
Thank you..!!! I made these... Ive done alot of fiberglass work over the last 20 yrs which started in car audio - Ive built dashes door panels sub boxes etc so I thought I would try these... They are a little heavy but I used pretty much what I had on hand... I will be re-doing these to shave a few pounds off when I get time...
DO YOU HAVE A VIDEO TO SHOW US HOW TO BUILD PONTOONS?
+Nakoa Warrior No I do not sorry but there are different vids showing the different stages of the progress
OK THANX
+Nakoa Warrior Hope they help bud
We’re are your first three videos on this build?
Tony Auzenne A few before this one.
I am very much interested in the pvc that comes out of your rod holders. I attempted the same thing before I saw your video but the T-joints did not line up to the one across from it. Tony Auzenne you can also bend pvc with heat by filling it with sand then heating the outside. Search yt on how to bend pvc.
Did this yak ever see the water?
I would pay good money for a set just like these.
These turned out a little on the heavy side - I tried to keep them at no more than 5# each but ended up at around 8# each... I still havent tried them out...
I can't find videos 1-3.?
There all in the same area ma6be a few vids back
The 10 ss does not want to track at all man that is the only thing I hate about it I saw a guy on here that put a rudder on his 10 ss and he was moving on in a strong wing

yooper survival cool cool buddy..😀
hello good day I would like you to support me with the type of material measures of the floats and the procedure to carry out that project
flavio romulo carbajal ortega Indo have other videos of all that. I dont show the contruction process juat the steps Ive already done. Those should help.
I don't like how you have to give up your rod holders :/
Darren Turner Small price to pay really for extra cargo. For me I fish with one rod mainly so its not a big deal for me plus if I wanted to I could relocate them else where.
Why would you even need those
The real question is why not...
It is a bull shit idea PVC has no strength on water in windy day
Krystof Majewski I've been using mine for over a year without any problems.
omg build me one for my 1457 vhaul jon boat
Astral pilot. Richmond lol why would you need these on a jon boat..?
Jon boats are not as stable as one may think. I'am doing a jon boat to flats boat mod and live in florida.
Astral pilot. Richmond Ive had one before it wasnt to bad but for your mod I can see how these would be a good idea
yes in choppy water . Are they foam?
where did you get the pvc flanges? i am going to make a front and rear casting platform out of pvc
