    Really like you as a presenter.
    One quibble. Moissanite is named after Nobel Laureate Dr. Henri Moissan. Generally, names are not translated. In English, as in French, a single "s" can be pronounced with a zed sound OR with a sibilant sss sound, depending.
    A name like Moissan--outside of the USA, it appears-- is always pronounced the French way: Moissan, as if it had three s's. There. Thanks.That's off my chest.
    Now. The Fab Coloured Moissanite segment is interesting and, as always, very good, and detailed.
    Would you, however, do another segment, with emphasis on EACH colour of moissanite, each separately with different gradations of colour from lightest to darkest, please? For me, brown moissanite is of greatest interest, but I would like to see options. Perhaps an explanation as to why obviously *yellow* appearing stones are catagorised as *brown* could be mentioned?
    AND, if possible, either in the same tutorial or in a separate one if you'd rather, would you display each colour variation in an array of different CUTS-- as many as you have to show?
    I've seen these two ideas in action on other sites. I appreciate your channel more than most others. Even so, seeing colour and cut gradations would be a huge factor in determining as to WHERE I purchase stones, considering the disparity in the dollar values between Canadian and US currency.
    You, personally, are great, and yours is one of the very few-- well, two-- cut gemstone channels to which I subscribe.
    I hope that you'll do as I suggest. Your other viewers might appreciate your efforts as much as I would.
    Thank you for your attention. Happy New Year, 2024.

      @@FireandBrilliance Hello, can the people who cut and shape the moissanites not do the DR (Double Refraction) as that easily separates it from a real diamond which has (SR) Single Refraction.
      We are not doing it here in Norway but why are the cutters still doing the Double Refraction. People who can't afford diamonds, we don't want to make them feel embarrassed. Food for thought.

    Thank you! Very informative and helpful. I always wanted a ring with a black stone, but most stones like onyx are too soft. It's good to know I can get a moissanite stone that's black. I don't mind heat treatment or irradiation, but I don't want stones with any other treatment (unless I have the money for an emerald, then I'd keep it treated with oil as I know that's routine).

      @@cathrynharrison4734 - Don’t trust eBay sellers unless you know they ate 100% legit. I got mine in a house clearing sale, it had the original paperwork with it and I tested it with “the Wand of truth” aka a diamond test pen which tests the electrical conductivity of a stone. If you see a Moissanite for sale on eBay for £5 for example, then it’s probably Cubic Zirconia. Going rate for a 1 carat Moissanite is near to £60. Buying online is risky as you can only see the stone once you get it, then if it’s not as described you have to send it back for a refund. Thrift stores are a good source, however during the pandemic, when they were open, you couldn’t actually examine the stone there and then. Good luck.

    • @FireandBrilliance
      @FireandBrilliance  Před 2 lety +2

      It's hard to say since we do not know the original source. A reputable moissanite jeweler should be able to give you a straight answer. Otherwise, it may be best to ask your jeweler to confirm with their moissanite supplier. Good luck!

      i saw a moissanite seller soaking moissanite jewelery in water. The coated ones tint the water the coated color.
      If you didn't want to totally go for it, I suppose you could saturate a q-tip and hold it to the stone to see if any color lifts.
