Grandad didn't say much, but when he did... he always nailed it.
RIP Leonard Pearce.
Sometimes his most simplest lines are so funny. When he loosened the bolt and brought down the chandelier. Del blamed him fr undoing the wrong bolt. His reply’ well, i wish youd said something’😀. So true. They didnt tell him. Hes so cute. Love granddad
He was an unfunny racist.
Your dad said one day Del would reach the top. Then again he said one day millwall would win the cup. Grandad
Lennard* (I'm pretty sure)
My favourite grandad line is from the salmon fishing episode (Friday the 14th) when he replies to Delboy that the escaped patient 'might be mad but he'd have to be bloody stupid to be out in that rain'
Can't believe your comment as that's my fave grandad line too! But never get much of a reaction when I say this so to see your comment made my day!
He went out selling flags one saturday
"It's called stealing"
"No it ain't Rodney. It's called poaching."
How have i only just realised grandad and uncle albert wasn't the same person 😂
Hope he don't find our flat
“you mean you were gun running in the middle of a civil war?!”
Grandad: “well that’s the best time to do it, Rodney”
😂
It’s amazing how often grandad ended up with some of the funniest lines.
I like the one where Rodney gets an older girlfriend, Del says blimey she's even to old for me then grandad says "Even I'd have to think twice"
Beavis. This is an excellent example. One of the cleverest lines in all of ‘only fools...’
yes but his best line that was and always will be (and I don’t care what anyone thinks) “They promised us home fit for hero’s, but all they gave us was hero’s fit for homes”
@@CricketEngland tremendous line, gets you right in the heart. Aldo underscores how John Sullivan could write heartbreaking sadness into OFAH, making it more than a mere sitcom, but a fully rounded dramas too, with a full cast of actors who could carry it all in their stride.
@@michaelasquith Fun fact: Pearce came up with that line off the cuff, and it was considered so funny they left it in!
Grandad was funny bless him his best iconic line
" Well even I would have to think twice" 🤣 when discussing Rodney's 40 year old girlfriend 🤣
Uncle Albert talks of the war constantly and it’s funny
Grandad talks about the war few times and its an intense and emotional atmosphere
Bless him grandad
"It is not me Dell boy it is my brain"
"It is nothing to do with me, I only suggested it"
Rodney : "Shall I give him the kiss of life"?
Grandad: "I ain't that bad" 😂😂😂😂
Rodney: There’s someone at the window!
Grandad: He didn’t have a bucket and a chamois leather did he?
Every scene with Grandad had me in stitches . What a character he was . Lennard did a superb job !
Actually I find Buster Merryfield aka Uncle Albert better than Lennard Pearce wasn't what you'd call humourous at all
yes he was.@@stephensnell1379
The way those German's where going on, somebody was going to get hurt. HAAAAAAAA
Ist true, jah?
My favourite line from Grandad is from 'Friday the Fourteenth'. There is a mad axe murderer on the loose, and Rodney thinks he's seen him outside during a storm which has cut all power. Grandad says 'I know he's mad Rodney, but he'd have to be bloody stupid to be out there in that' It never fails to make me laugh.
No salmon though
Grandad never fails to bring a smile to my face! Him and Sydney Potter!
Poitier! 😂
@@ChimpManZ1264 its bloody Potter!
Jeezus Sydney Potter. I forgot about that
"Del Boy, I've burnt ya pizza".
My favourite:
Rodney "What... It saved his life?"
Grandad "Well... Not really! You see the bullet ricocheted up his nose and blew his brains out!"
😂😂😂😂😂
"I want you to have it Rodney! It will bring you good luck."
Rodney: "Good luck? Grandad it bloody killed him!"
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂
Grandad was so funny
Grandad was brilliant. “What ya got, a Wendy house”
The brilliance of Grandad was that- despite his age, he was just as sly and wry as Del and Rodney. They were three of a kind.
Nothing will top for me:
Grandad- You wanna be a bit careful Del Boy! A joke’s a joke but you never know when to stop! What about that April Fool’s day! You told me the pools had rung to say I’d won ‘alf a million!
Del - Yeah that was a belter weren’t it!
Grandad - Oh wonderful! But you could have least stopped me going up West with me pension money!
Grandad - Oh it wasn’t funny Del. I mean there was I, in a Soho nightclub drinking champagne with a bird called Camila, and I suddenly realised I didn’t even do the bloody pools!
Yeah. V funny.
My favourite character. Some of the stuff he came out with was priceless
Have you any idea what a psycho as you so eloquently put it is?
Grandad: Course i have, its a geezer that dresses in his mothers clothes 🤣
It could've been the shadows in the trees Rodney.
My fave 😆
I have been laughing consistently at these jokes for over 30 years..Even my ringtone is OFAH...The best sitcom ever written...The Trotters feel like family.
...till they became miwyonaires.
Seeing as everyone's posting their favourite Grandad line:
Rodney: What's wrong with going out with a woman of 40?
Del: Nothing. Nothing at all if you happen to be 50. She's even too old for me.
Grandad: Well I'd have to think twice
My fave too. Excellent
My favourite welllll not really it ricocheted up his nose and blew his brains out
Yeah, that one’s hilarious!
“Shut up, Grandad.”
🤣🤣🤣🤣😍😍😂😂😂
I was about to comment the same. One of the funniest lines I’ve ever heard on television!
Del: "What are you doing"?
Grandad: "I'm trying to get the Dukes of Hazzard"
Del: "That is a microwave oven you dozy old twonk" Rest in Peace Lennard Pearce
To me the Wendy house line is the best comedy one-liner ever said. We all have that one dopey and sarcastic grandfather who we love deeply.
The Wendy House line was improvised and that’s why David Jason basically pusses himself
Grandad was a fantastic character and played impeccably by Lennard Pearce ... the Spanish holiday episode still has me in tears and is comedy gold
“One more turn Del”🤣🤣
I will never tire of this scene or this program👍👌
"Hello? Oh, no sorry, Del's gone out...... I'm not too sure, where you going to, Del?"
Probably my personal favourite line from Grandad.
Buster Merryfield's character of Albert was a fantastic add-on to the show, and one of the very few times a replacement of a character actually works. But Lennard Pearce fitted the role of the grumbling old grandfather perfectly, and Grandad is, sadly, a very underrated character that should deserve more credit.
He delivered his lines so perfectly
I say this to the missus all day long around the house…when you gone to del 🤣…she’s even saying it🤣
@@stevemurphy6780 😂😂😂
I asked for an emperor burger an he brings me back a CHEESEburger !
That line haunts whenever I go into a burger joint.
Well id have to think twice best line ever
We are going into the self catering holiday trade, we’re starting in a a small way, what you got a Wendy house one of my favourites
" Grandad come on you stupid old git" Del Boy 😂😂😂
You missed the best line which came from Friday the fourteenth:
Warden: Do you know what a psycho is?
Grandad: Course I do; it's a geezer what dresses up in his mother's clothes.
R.I.P Lennard Pearce
Sorry sadly missed
"You were running guns in the middle of a civil war?"
"It's the best time to do it"
He's not wrong
Supply and demand 🤣🤣🤣
@Robert JK what ever side had the most money really
Left out one of the best clips.
Grandad: One night my Grandad was on sentry duty, standing there alone in the middle of Africa, when suddenly a sniper fired at him. The bullet was heading straight for my grandads heart but he had that cigarette case in his breast pocket and the bullet hit that instead.
Rodney: Jeez, it saved his life.
Grandad: Well not really, see the bullet ricocheted up his nose and blew his brains out.
It takes a 42-carat plonker to leave that out.
I ❤ Grandad
Gone but never forgotten 🔥🇬🇧Only fools n horses🇬🇧🔥
I tolly loved granddad he was 100%funny as fk RIP
Lovely Grandad :) I wish you added when he was arrested in Spain; that was hysterical, especially when he said that it was the best time to sell guns during the Civil War.
In the chandelier episode 'Grandad have you got the gemmy?' (Gemmy bar) Grandad thinks del said the cockney slang 'Jimmy' (Jimmy riddle - Piddle) and says 'No I had one before we came out 😂😂
A Jemmy, as in a Jameson whiskey
Thanks fr explaining. I didnt know
@@Thorlongus1175 thanks fr the explanation
Del used slang for a crow bar to prize up the floorboards with, not a whisky!!🤦
RIP Lennard Pearce. You truly were amazing as Del and Rodney’s dopey, yet hilarious Grandad! You left us way too soon! 🥹💀🪦💔🎩👴🏻
Rip in peace grandad and uncle
One of my favourite granddad moments is from series 3. The may the force be with you episode. They are in the police station being questioned by Slater over a stolen microwave oven. Slater gets off the phone and granddad says “ you wanna take a bit my care of your health son in the last half hour you’ve done some much boot licking you could be going down with cherry blossom poisoning!!
Get your words correct
You are referring to the episode that's called May The Force Be With You
@@stephensnell5707 my words are correct THANKS
The chandelier episode was the best 🤣❤
What you got a Wendy House? That's my favourite line and I piss myself everytime laughing R.I.P Lennard Pearce
0:45 - grandad was brutal!
'Did he leave the tenner?' Need I say more?
Yellow Peril: The family looking at Del Boy and Rodney's mother glowing grave.
Grandad: "What worries me its on the main flypath to Heathrow." 😂😂
Remember in “Losing Streak” when Granddad was worried about Del playing cards with Boycie. Years earlier, Granddad lost a fortune on cards from a marked deck. He’d marked them lol.
Just loved them!
Very underrated character is grandad
There's a hell of a lot more than this!
Grandad had the best one liners
great moments.
How can you dislike this
How was "I've had a lot of sobering thoughts.. It was them that drove me to the drink" not included?
How dare you miss out the single greatest Grandads line of all time.....
“They promised us home fit for hero’s, but all they give us was hero’s fit for homes”
@Jake Collins have you ever watched the episode in which he says it?
It doesn’t need to be funny it’s just the greatest line in OFAH FACT!
The funny lines was the Peckham tours on that bus and grandad threw away the leaflets and del boy found them in the bin and grandad said "it wasn't me it was my brain"
Brilliant.it was grandad that I missed the most when he died.i believe he made the show and was hilarious 🤣😆😂
RIP Lennard Pearce - PURE TALENT 🥰🥰🥰 xxx
"Your breakfast is getting cold Del boy.."
It’s coming Del Boy one more turn 😂😂😂😂😂
Loved grandad that line what you got a Wendy House 😄😄😄😄😄 just brilliant some great moments with Leonard Pearce sadly missed r.i.p 💙💙
Best video I have ever watched during this lockdown 😂😂
All grandad's moments were the funniest moments! xD
The Wendy House bit 😂
I know you can hear me Arthur 🤣🤣
‘Classic’.. My Fav Cash and Curry. “My Old Mucker”.
And the yellow peril S2 E5 tell him what to do grandad. You get a pair of scissors and trim your brush up
‘I was just getting something in for dinner’
0:45 The phrase the plush has
My favourite, comedy genius!
I loved grandad 😢 ❤
"I ain't that bad Rodney" 😭😂😂
" it ain't me it's me brain "
Perfect
Good ole grandad.
God bless his soul.
"This time, next year, we'll be millionaires".
I've heard that his wendy house crack was completely unscripted....If so what a moment of comic genius...
Granddad was my favourite
‘I was just getting something in for dinner’ he says while standing outside a pet shop
The wendy house one is my all time favourtie comedy one-liner. Pretty much all of us has that dopy and witty grandad
Wheres the cheese burger bit? 'i asked for an emporer burger' lol
"The way those Germans was carrying on, someone was gonna get hurt".
Lennard Pearce you legend
Uncle Albert was so so good but first few seasons with gradand is the best tv ever made and always will be .HE WHO DARES
Disagree I found episodes with Albert better
@@AKking27 Pity about Albert's false accent.
it's called acting@@capcompass9298
Is it very valuable Dell....not really no...but it was bleeding priceless when it was up there !
Poor old Grandad, he only got up to switch over to Crossroads
2:15-2:24 LMAO! 🎄👑🍗🍴
He reminds me of my grandfather.
Best episodes, the early ones. Grandad was the best. "It's Potter!"
What kind of financial advisor goes out for an emperor burger and comes back with a cheeseburger
They forgot ‘well I’d have to think twice’ 😂
I'm trying to get the Dukes of Hazzard lol microwave oven
You'll be putting frozen pizzas in the portable next!
This is a cheeseburger! I asked for an emperor burger!😆😆😆
What's he got a wendy house best ad lib line ever
I'm watching David Jason in "Touch of Frost" right now, great series that was!
If you don't mind me saying this, I like Sir David Jason's Television programmes. He is a great actor, in every programme that, he acted in. I love him, as Del Boy, in Only Fools, And Horses.
@@michaelasquith He was in "Open All Hours" - my two favourite comedy actors.
@@capcompass9298, Open All Hours used to star Ronnie Barker, Kathy Staff, Lynda Baron, Barbara Flynn, Stephanie Cole, and Nick Stringer. To name, but a few.
@@michaelasquith ...and with Kathy Staff, we get on to "Last of the Summer Wine.
My favourite actor in it was Joe Gladwyn.
@@capcompass9298, my favourite character in Last Of The Summer Wine was, "Compo", who was played by the late, great Bill Owen.
Could never understand why they didn’t clean the bloody chandelier up there
Agreed, except it wouldn't have been near as funny.
That and Del Boy falling through the bar were voted best clips.
The episode was written specifically for that scene, the writers even admitted the rest of the script wasn't that good but they had one excellent joke and they wrote backwards to justify it
I think the Wendy house but had to of been ad lib because Dels reaction was just so natural
Hilarious especially the candelabra!!!! God Bless Lennard Pearce and Stay Safe Everyone, Especially those in Lockdown xx
"I wish that you'd have said something cos i was working on this one"
Del "Grandad, do you want a jammie?"
Grandad "Had one before we left, Del"
@@kirstycarter4542 what do you mean?!!?
@@deborahwatson5159 Del asked Grandad if he needed a jammie (slang for the wrench) but he thought that he meant a jam sandwich 😂
@@kirstycarter4542 sorry I think you'll find it was Jimmy meaning a wee!!!! 😄😃 Still Hilarious though and a Brilliant Series too, take care 😊
The urn bit is hailiarious.
Grandad: ''I just got up to switch over to crossroads''
Delboy: "And what happened?!?''
Grandad: ''I don't know delboy...I didn't see the ending'' 🤣🤣
The magical lennard Pearce a good performance in minder too
