The moment you realize he didn’t just “reestablish himself” in his hometown by coincidence. He was on a mission here and on the first evening they met. Knew what she was and Manipulated her and how they met from the very start. Bill was as scheming and ambitious as the rest of most vampires, a reoccurring theme of his character throughout the show.
Bill: "No. You're something more than that. You're something more than human." *Bill* "What are you?" 4:10 Notice how when Bill stood up and left, all the voices flooded back in. This is ONE of the reasons Sookie was so comfortable around vampires.

Exactly. Something they totally dropped in the later seasons infavor of vampires only being attracted to Sookie and not the other way around.
