the idea of tipping culture villifying the people that don't want to tip, instead of the employers for not providing a liveable wage is still wild to me.
Divide and conquer, they got em right where they want em...
"Wild" is an awfully nice word for it. The correct word would probably get your comment deleted by bots, though.
They knew tipping was expected when they placed the order. Gas, time and car maintenance aren't free. If you are too lazy to get it yourself and too cheap to tip the guy that does it for you, you ARE a villain.
If you order, you should tip and advocate for a living wage you should do both. It's not wild when you need it to survive
I don't tip anyone for anything. They're getting paid to do a job , if the pay isn't enough they can leave and get another job .
For anyone wondering, the guy who tried to go to his favorite resaurant had a happy ending, after seeing footage, they identified the man and leter gave him a free meal for the inconvenience :)

As someone who grew up with freckles I cannot understand why someone would tattoo them on their face 😂
Me neither. Freckles tend to look nice on those who have them naturally, but the tattoo idea just seems a step too far to me. And that one girl (the one at 0:33) looked more like she had a case of acne rather than freckles.
****Edit****
A bunch of you have pointed out to me that these were comparative shots of when the tattoo was fresh vs. when the skin had healed. That explains the pimple-faced look.

As a European, I was very confused why it would be illegal to park backwards, as it's generally known to be the better/safer way to park. Apparently it has to do with cars in some US states only having rear license plates and they have to be visible when parked
Honestly kind of ridiculous
The US is weird
@@Akimfalkoff the car normally auto scans it for them. Also it does significantly slow down efficiency when they have to get out to check every car.
As an American I've never seen that irl, but maybe that's because I stay away from big cities lol
My guess is it’s some pay to park lot where you have to have to give your plate number when you park and they have those rent a cops driving around looking for people who overstayed their ticket time or w/e.
I was a delivery driver. Not getting tips was frustrating, but I never judged the customer. Once I delivered to a woman who was in tears that she didn't have enough money for a tip, but she had to order her groceries because her kids were too sick to take them to the store.
You don't know what people's financial situations are like, you can't prejudge someone from the appearances of them, their house, or their order.
When I felt that the frustration of not getting tips was too much, that's when I realized that this wasn’t what I should be doing, and I got a different job and looked into other options for making extra money, and it turned out for the better.
One of 5 my dads' is a lawyer. He says modern tipping culture is ridiculous.
You have a salary.. all you did was your job.. the tip seem silly to me, it just takes money from the consumer instead of the company, which is underpaying you, and using the tip as an argument to keep doing so
@@bigjen8238Exactly. People also think like this is the only job and don't think move onto one where you get a stable income per day. Its utter bonkers tbh. Especially when its jobs that pay you less than minimum wage because of tips.
Look guys, people have been tipping for pizza for decades. It doesn’t matter what you think society should be. Just tip someone because they need the money. Keep your judgements for your self.

Every time someone who didn't get a tip acts like a complete fool, I blame America in general for making tipping culture a thing at all by underpaying everyone.
But at the same time, those people are still complete fools for forgetting they're not the only ones struggling to pay bills.
Partially agree but i see it the other way too.
1. If you are so tight on money, you can't at least tip 15% of your total, you shouldn't be ordering out in the first place.(Ramen noodles are WAY cheaper)
2. That driver who kicked the trash can on camera didn't deserve a tip acting like that and probably got fired...and for a good reason. FIND A DIFFERENT JOB IF YOU DONT LIKE IT!
@@OG-BIG-SHEPHERD. First one is invalid, doesn't matter what your circumstances on money is, tipping should always be optional. Plus 15% tip simply delivering something is outrageously high, 15% could be an awful lot of money depending on the sum of your order, it isn't necessary for the driver to get more money out of you when you've already paid plenty. If you're constantly tipping all the time then tell me what exactly it means to tip? Here in the UK my mother used to always hand me extra money to give the driver as a tip when paying by cash, it was a kind gesture because we don't have tipping culture here so it isn't expected. In America though since tipping is expected it's no longer a kind gesture, customers are pressured and made to feel bad if they don't tip.
Let's also not forget the historical background behind tipping, if you know, you know. There's a reason why tipping culture mostly only exists in America but despite that your awful practices does seep into every other western country, I wish you'd keep it to yourself.
@@Comic_Serif have you ever waited tables or delivered by the way? I should have asked that first I guess...
Delivery depending on the place can have a high delivery charge prior to tipping, a pizza place like 10 minutes away charges about 8-10-ish dallors for delivery which tends to be a 3rd of the cost for my order
Can't say I wanna tip when I see that.
@ltsmithneko again as I said previously, if you can't afford to tip the driver directly, you should just make some noodles or a TV dinner/frozen pizza, etc...
Mainly because the restaurant usually charges that delivery charge, then pockets most of that and MIGHT give the driver 1 or 2 dollars😡
The complete inability for a cat to calmly and coolly assess their situation will never cease to be a source of entertainment.
I thought the same thing. Stop. Take a second. Assess.. then go. 😂
That is a well put sentence.
"OK, this endeavor went sideways. You didn't expect to be in the bottom of a rubbish bin at this point in your life, but just take a deep breath, and calmly climb out with as much dignity as you can muster. And then go find a small warm place for a nap." 🐈

A delivery driver should not be angry at the customer if they don't give a tip... They should be angry at their employer for not giving enough money!!!! In Germany we only give tips when the service is good... No one complains.
If we do we get fired, hell even our employer has little to no say in what they pay us. There are pay laws they have to follow, and they are bull shit

This will allow the animal to relearn its wild instincts and not die immediately if released improperly

Guys disappointment when his fav restaurant was closed
0:03 - Concerning the delivery guy: I can see why he doesn't get tips! Back in 1968 I worked part time as a delivery boy for a drug store for 2 years. I got VERY few tips. One of the problems was that I never made it look like I was expecting a tip! I gave them the same friendly service with or without a tip. One thing I found out was that the richer a customer was, the poorer they tipped. At the other extreme, I made regular deliveries to one poor elderly lady. She always gave me a 25-cent tip. That was when a quarter was worth more than it is now. I felt guilty taking it as she really needed every penny she could save.
2:27 It's actually very dangerous for a bag of chips to be blown up like this, especially whilst on an airplane as if it explodes the chips will fall out and you'll have no chips to eat ☹
:)
It’s so funny to me as an Irish person how important tips are in the US. To be upset and kick over someone’s bin because you didn’t get a tip is so alien to me, like it’s a part of the payment or something
Edit: As people reminded me, a lot of people basically need tips to survive, which I understand. I just find the difference interesting, that’s all
Those workers need it here. Certain types of workers are subject to below minimum wage and even minimum wage here us so low it is criminal.
It's because they pay you almost nothing on the company's end. They rely on tips for their wage almost entirely. So essentially, he's getting paid nothing for his work.
Gasoline isn't free, cars aren't free. A driver literally loses money if some jerk doesn't tip. DoorDash only gives about $2 as base pay for a delivery. System works fine most of the time, pay can be better than a fixed wage...cheapskates ruin it.
In the UK they add a delivery fee to orders which covers the drivers costs and time. Baffles me why USA doesn’t do the same.
@@HomicidalTh0r that's some downright crooked system of labour rewarding
how are so many people okay with that
As a delivery driver, I can't stand all these entitled people who think they deserve tips. You always have the option to decline an order if you don't like the amount. Nobody's entitled to give you a tip.
i think i remember this story of the guy going to the restaurant in the snow.
it was a Jamaican restaurant and they give him a free meal later. :)
Roast fact: I love Japan's no tipping culture. Tipping in Japan is not accepted and attempt of leaving a tip will almost certainly to be turned down (a potentially awkward moment). In Japan, it's thought that by dining out of drinking at the bar, you are already paying the establishment for good food. If you're going tip, your telling the services are not good enough.
Great system and attitude. Tipping is grubby and demeaning. I understand US workers depend on tips, but the system is wrong.

Seagull with no feet- It can be from a number of causes; netting, fishing line, getting caught on some rocks, getting attacked by a larger bird, or even getting attacked by a fish from below if the fish has some teeth on it. I've also seen seagulls missing an entire leg. Bird legs are very sensitive. Once circulation gets cut off... That's it.

Expecting a tip before the customer even sees the food is pretty ridiculous. Back in my day, we didn't tip until we met the drive, had a nice small chat, and opened up the pizza to see steam coming out of a perfectly ordered meal.
First time users generally have no idea why they're tipping on already inflated prices of the services/product. Pre-tipping is a BIG ask when you aren't sure if the order will be delivered in a timely manner/correct location. I would walk right out of a diner if I am told to pre-tip before my food is served, why is it any different for these apps. You don't HAVE to tip a taxi but you're expected to tip a Lyft/Uber every time (I was in Orlando and found Taxis were more inexpensive than Uber/Lyft). If the platform stops taking a bigger cut and pay their drivers properly, the pressure on the customers to tip is less. The drivers are afraid to fight back for fear of deplatofrming so they lash out on the customers. You know what happens to garbage can kicker. He either gets deplatformed or a one star. If enough people recongize him, he might have difficulty finding work.

that's an anomaly to your area. most pigeons are missing toes and feet because they live so close to people and they get their feet tangled in strings, thread, fishing line, human hair, plastic wire, etc. and it cuts off circulation, slowly making their toes and feet fall off. look it up! I looked it up a long time ago because I was curious
The guy walking through the snow to his favorite restaurant, only to find out they were closed, brought to mind when I was in middle school, way back in the early 1960’s. (Yeah…I’m that old! And yet I still remember this story! 👵🏼) It was summer, and very hot, when my best friend and I decided to go see a movie, to get into some AC. We didn’t drive yet, so decided to walk. But, like dopey kids, we did the usual summer bare-foot thing, and the ground was so freakin’ hot! We had to walk about a mile, and so would run from small patch of grass to small patch of grass, and from small patch of shade to small patch of shade, our feet burning like crazy. We finally got to the theater and they wouldn’t let us in…cuz we weren’t wearing any shoes! 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ We ended up calling her dad to come pick us up. Lesson learned! 😆

The heartbreak the man had to see when the restaurant was closed. I felt that 😢
Tips should always be optional. If youre not getting enough money from your job, take it up with the person who hired you & push for a better wage. Dont take it out on strangers who dont owe you anything.
Agreed but its up to society as a whole to pass laws and vote for politicians who will stand up for workers rights. Him getting a job somewhere else doesnt fix the problem.
If the "tip" is integrated into the bill, you would never get hot food. Delivery drivers would have NO reason to provide you with speedy service. What's the difference if I get to you in 20 minutes or ride around smoking in my car and get to you in an hour if I'm getting paid the same hourly wage. Everyone that doesn't understand tipping has never worked in a service based environment where you are competing with your co-workers for the earnings of the night. This can clearly be displayed in Europe. I ordered delivery to my hotel room 3 different times on 3 different vacations in Europe. Each time, the food took over an hour to get to me, in a city. If food takes an hour to get to me in America, that restaurant is closed within a few years.
How does someone providing a service for your lazy ass, too lazy to start your car and pick up your own food from the restaurant, not deserve appreciation from YOU? I could just as easily answer the phones, take pizzas out of the oven, dress them, and cut them, and still be paid by the pizza restaurant... But, then you would actually have to get off your lazy ass and put miles and wear and tear on YOUR CAR.
@@bootygang8760 But how does that work if the tip is given before the order even arrives? It's better to have employment systems where the consequence of doing a shit job is that you get fired.
@@bootygang8760 This is the stupidest lie I have ever heard. Anybody who has visited a country with no tipping knows that isn't true. You know why I get my food delivered on time? Because that employee earns a fair wage and their employer will fire them if they dick around and take an hour to deliver my food. Even when it's these new food delivery apps, because nobody tips here that isn't something they can take into account when accepting a job - they simply try and get as many orders delivered in the shortest amount of time possible, because the more orders you can get done in a short period of time the more you earn. It's quite obvious you've never left your little US bubble and are completely lying about Europe. I mean WHERE in Europe even are you talking about? Some European countries have worse tipping cultures than the US does even.

Back in the early 90s, I lived on the East Coast. I got into wearing Tevas. Even in winter. One winter night my roommate and I went to this bar that had live music. We had to park about 3 blocks away and it was snowing pretty hard. Genius me, in my Tevas, sloshing through the snow. Just as we left the parking lot, I stepped off the curb into a deep, slushy pot-hole. Obviously, my foot was freezing cold. We continued on to the bar, with my freezing foot, only to discover it was closed. That guy sloshing through the snow for his restaurant had it easy.

Delivery driver for UberEats in Alberta, Canada here for 8+ years now. The thing is, it informs you what you will get for the delivery, including tip, when you go to accept or deny the delivery. So it's nobody's fault but the driver's fault for accepting the order. At least, if he works for one of the app/gig companies, that is.
door dash doesn't tell you beforehand where I live.
1:15 “I don’t get paid enough for this shit”
Of course, if you drive food out to my house I'm obligated (in my estimation) to tip the driver. I went to pick up a to-go order at my local eatery and the young lady who took my money asked if I wanted to leave a tip. I chuckled and said, "What for?" She got visibly angry so I explained to her that a tip is a "gratuity" for good service at a sit-down meal and not for handing someone a bag. She didn't seem to comprehend that and since then I've noticed a trend toward this way of "thinking."
2:28 How are you supposed to open the chips now? 😂
The absolute entitlement when you tip over someone's property because you didn't receive the optional free charity money from an already paying customer because they are easier to bully than the company that is hiring you and not paying you more.
THIS
Amen
I agree with you to a point because kicking it over is inexcusable, but charity money?
If you have the money to spend to get food delivered, you are paying a person for a service like you would in a restaurant. MAYBE spend a bit more to support a service that actually pays their employees a livable wage or value the peiple willing to do the tedious sometimes actually dangerous job of bringing your lazy ass some McDonald's.
Now, I'm assuming a lot here, maybe the home owner can't walk and doesn't have the cash to spare, maybe the driver took an extra 30min to get there and thats why they didn't get a tip, and your probably not a lazy ass with more decerning tastes in food then McDonald's xD
But tipping is a systematic problem in the US were companies think and DO get away with underpaying employees and customers end up picking up the slack with something that used to be a sign of appreciation for a job well done.
If i go to saaay the hardware store and get 50 bags of concrete mix and they send Todd to help me load that heavy shit in my truck and he busts his ass to get it done damn right i'll give him a couple bucks.
@@KJO1993tldr. He’s already paying for the delivery. There is literally a delivery fee

Delivery is not like being a server or bartender. I don't think we deserve tips, just better wages. That driver kicking over the bin is inexcusable. 😡
Why are replies getting deleted?
Why is it not like being a server or bartender? You could argue a delivery driver puts in more physically and financially.
People don't realize they get that chain delivery pizza for $8 because the companies pay low wages and tipping supplements that. Drivers typically use personal vehicles for work and must cover ALL expenses on their vehicle. Also, delivery fees only earn the business money while drivers get somewhere around $1-$3 per order depending on mileage rates and distance.
In short, you not tipping wont change the system unless you are willing to pay a LOT more for cheap food.
@@gradeabrandon186just cut off tipping ffs, increase the overall wages for all of the bottom line workers, they are incredibly underpaid imho
@@welsan2074 Fine do that. But then everyone will be mad when these companies raise their prices on everything so their profit margins don’t change. $1 tip vs a 25% price increase seems like it should be an easy choice though
That's why I always laugh when a delivery driver forgets that most apps allow post-delivery tipping, as it should be. Anytime I tip in advance, my service is garbage because they assume they've already gotten the tip so they don't have to work for it. I always tip after delivery
I just wish that tipping wasn't an excuse for employers to pay their employees, who drive their own personal vehicles and pay for their own gas, less than minimum wage. If it was against the law to pay your employees less than minimum wage, and employers reimbursed for gas mileage, then tips would be a kind gesture for good service, and not essential to a continuous service.
@@rookiecookie722 Absolutely. I wish more people would realize this.
@@rookiecookie722 You are wrong though.
"not essential to a continuous service."
If you or no one else tipped that service wouldn't just disappear. There would never be "Oh I guess there is no more food delivery in america."
The employees wouldn't make enough money so they would be forced find other jobs that pay better, or be forced into unionizing. Then the employer would be forced to increase wages and/or benefits in order to get the manpower necessary to continue operations.
Don't think for a second these services would disappear because the companies that provide them can't pay their employees more. They absolutely can pay them more, they just don't have to because the customers do it for them.
And it's completely fine wanting to be nice and helping out a delivery driver by tipping them, but you should never think, or propagate the idea, that it's essential. Nothing is forcing that person to work that job, nothing is forcing that person to not organize a strike for better wages and benefits, the responsibility is entirely on them, and to a lesser extent the employer.
(and no, no one goes into the delivery service because their is literally no other entry level jobs. I've mentioned this in another comment, the post office is pretty much always hiring and the starting wage is 20 a hour with a lot of overtime opportunities. Every city is going to have dozens of other similar entry level jobs that pay more than deliver drivers (assuming they don't get tips). There are always other options. People choose to be delivery drivers because they have decided that the pros outweigh the cons.)
@@CrossBreedTacoHD How am I wrong for wishing that the minimum wage was upheld? How can I be wrong for wishing people would refuse to use a system that they don't believe in, instead of taking advantage of it and making delivery drivers into charity workers? It's the system we live in. I refuse to order delivery, but if I want the convenience I'm not going to screw over the guy kind enough to deliver my food in a foul system. Better not to use the system, but if you do use it why would you turn your delivery driver into a charity worker? Do you need charity? Or do you justify your selfishness by calling your driver stupid for providing you a service in a system you use and provide money to?

You are wrong for the thing I quoted you on and proceeded to explain why. It honestly feels like you read the first sentence, got triggered, and didn't read anything else I wrote. I mean, in your entire comment you don't try to rebuttal a single thing I said.
Tipping is not essential to keep the service running. Tipping is not essential for the survival of these people.
Claiming it is essential, is not only delusional, it is a tactic to browbeat and shame people into tipping.
As you have shown in your response, a comment filled with browbeating and shaming...
But seeing how I am masochist I will look at most of your comment and make rebuttals.
-----------------------
" How am I wrong for wishing that the minimum wage was upheld?"
Not what I said, is it? Common tactic to redirect the conversation and paint someone as being unreasonable.
-----------------------
"How can I be wrong for wishing people would refuse to use a system that they don't believe in,...."
Well, if your goal is to force all of the delivery drivers into unemployment, then you aren't wrong. If this is just a virtue signal with little thought behind it, then you wrong on the account of virtue signaling being annoying.
And even if I were take this question seriously and expand it upon for you, It's the delivery drivers responsibility to fight for their wages and benefits within the industry they work in. Customers not using the service isn't going to magically make those employers think "Wow, we need to pay our employees more because apparently that's why people aren't using our service." What are you? Twelve? This is not how the world works, your protest does nothing but harm the delivery drivers and the service providers, but disportionately the delivery drivers.
Though I want to make it clear, I don't use this service either, because it's a waste of money, so if that's someone's' reasoning for not using it, more power to them, but if they are doing it because of "not wanted to support the system" they are actually bonkers.
-----------------------
".....instead of taking advantage of it and making delivery drivers into charity workers?"
You make it sound so nefarious...taking advantage of it. What? Taking advantage of a service provided by a company?
Making them into charity workers? Got to love the bleeding hearts out there shaming one person to the next due to their unrealistic expectations and idiotic ideals.
Nevermind the fact that delivery drivers are paid employees that chose to be in that line of work despite a host of alternatives being available in most populated areas, why is it the customers responsibility? Like seriously, can you tell me how morally and pragmatically the customer is responsible? Isn't the employee that agreed to the contract and the employer that made the contract the only people responsible? You don't have to answer, I already know.
-----------------------
"It's the system we live in. I refuse to order delivery, but if I want the convenience I'm not going to screw over the guy kind enough to deliver my food in a foul system."
You don't want to screw him over, so you provide him no business....interesting logic.
Also, you aren't screwing over anyone if are asking them to do the bareminium their job requires, they are paid and expected to deliver things to peoples homes, simple as.
-----------------------
"Better not to use the system,...."
Better for who? I agree that the "system" or service is a waste of money and the convenience leads to an over consumption of unhealthy restaurant food. I just don't understand how anyone could mental gymnastics this into thinking this benefits the delivery drivers...or is this purely a virtue signal. You want people to recognize that you are better then them because you don't use this "foul system"....
-----------------------
"....but if you do use it why would you turn your delivery driver into a charity worker? Do you need charity? Or do you justify your selfishness by calling your driver stupid for providing you a service in a system you use and provide money to?"
More shaming and browbeating. Just because you say it with confidence, doesn't mean any of this represents reality. I weep for the kind hearted souls that would be swayed by such rhetoric.

I don't normally tip but I actually do tip delivery drivers because if I'm ordering delivery it means I don't want to drive and when I say I don't want to drive I mean icy roads and s***. One time my friend didn't want to order delivery because he didn't want to make the driver come out in that kind of condition and I was like give him a big tip but my friend wouldn't do it.
I only like tipping people if they go above and beyond the normal level of service that they should and if you're driving in weather like that you're definitely going above and beyond.
