@Kadiri Olanipekun yes and no, the big issue is that Sony made a more realistic and consistent VFX/CGI because they pretty much use fewer VFX studios, usually with a clear, consistent vision, more time to develop the renders and stuff. While the MCU uses like 5 different teams per movie on average and with shorter time, that can make the CGI quality dip or be directly inconsistent. So when it comes to the Marvel/Sony deal, they pick who handles the VFX for each big scene between Marvel and Sony, time factor is big, that's why scenes like the final battle in Black Panther had those unfinished effects, imagine doing 3 movies with 2 year gaps between each of those. Add as the last issue that Sony gives the Spider-Man MCU movies less budget because of the financial failure (to them at least) from TASM2 and the result for the "Home" movies is CGI more variable from scene to scene

I’ve got to say, and this may be an unpopular opinion, but out of all the spider man movies, in terms of cinematography? The Amazing series is the most beautiful. And in terms of web swinging scenes? The Amazinf series is also the best

The score the photography, the direction, the themes, the relationships between the characters...It may be controversial but the Amazing Spiderman 2 is my favorite live action Spiderman movie.
They really handled villains poorly in that movie, otherwise it could be great.

I honestly don't hate them at all, but I have the same problem that with the Snyderverse. Amazing cinematography, great score, epic suits, very good cast, but... poor and very convoluted plot (specially Batman v Superman and TASM2)

I really liked Zack Snyder Justice League but it would have been very convoluted if it was released in theaters, as it was supposed to, since there is no way WB would've released a 4 hours movie (and I wouldn't blame them, it's very unusual to release a 4 hour movie in theaters and you have to be sure it will do very well in the box office, which wasn't the case with Batman v Superman). And Man of Steel doesn't have that problem. As far as I remember, Clark and Lois relationship was the only thing poorly done in that movie

What I like about the Marvel movies outside the MCU is the sense of individuality

Exactly, both the Raimi and TASM movies have their own distinct feel, while MCU Spidey has to fit into a formula, as such he feels more generic and doesn’t have his own sense of identity to me.
@@SM-th7pw it's funny how at first the MCU movies felt each as their own thing like comics do. Iron Man feels different than Captain America: the first Avenger or Thor (or The Incredible Hulk). But when they started with the phases 2 and 3 they kept adding more stuff to shape a formula. By now with phase 4, even if they are trying new stuff, their new stuff has to go through the doors the formula has established for the projects.
I loved how the Phase 1 movies were different even in terms of tone. It was like reading comics of each of the characters, a different experience that made you love them for their own thing and made you interested in seen them interact. Now, Thor and She Hulk could have a competition to see who makes the stupidest joke and you could see jokes that either of them could make, or you could have another Spidey-Strange interaction with each of them acting the same way because their suffering and the way they process it has been forced to feel similar.
If Tony from Phase 1 participated in that joke competition he would outshine them. And if Captain America from Phase 1 talked to Strange and Spidey, we would all feel more for him than for them.

So I will just take for granted that you're an idiot with no actual critic sense that thinks making fun of kids movies without actual analysing them makes him look more mature. Because I simply cannot, in my right mind, accept that someone would look at the animation, the production design, the life and history in every extras and every building of that city, the comic book inspiration that you can see in every frames, the incredible visual ideas, the narration that put together so many characters and plotlines without ever getting confusing, the deep character arcs and emotional moments, the score and think that any of those things are not good. I could talk for hours and hours about how amazing every scenes, dialogues, shots and characters are but other people already did it better than I could. @@loucasstjacques5131 firstly, I'm not reading this. Secondly, into the spider verse had some really unprecedented animation, and I totally love it, but it is one hell of an overhyped film. It's plot is as generic as it gets, there's nothing so different about it other than the animation. The web slinging barely exists, let alone the fact that it is mediocre at best. It's a kids movie, exactly, hence it doesn't explore the idea of what it means to be spider man. The multiverse spidermen, except for Parker, were hardly utilized throughout the film, and were there solely for the sake of being there. Into the Spider verse isn't even half as good as critics make it out to be. Talk about "character depth", it barely even exists. There characters are plain, simple, and one dimensional. Nobody has done Spiderman's character depth better than Raimi or Webb. And last, but not the least, I don't let random videos form my opinions, so thanks for the offer, but I'll pass.

Same here, Tobey was good according to its own time period, but Andrew is the best portrayal of modern spiderman. MCU spiderman feels like a tool to continue their stories, not spiderman stories.

I honestly really appreciate the direction of the first Amazing film, it didn’t nail the execution I don’t think, however I put the blame entirely on Sony’s meddling, Marc Webb had a great vision if I’m being honest (#ReleaseTheWebbCut am I right).
I think people give “darker” takes on traditionally bright characters alot of shit, and just assume it’s “copying the dark knight”, while yes after the Dark Knight there certainly was a trend of these types of retelling’s, I don’t necessarily think that’s a bad thing. Spider-Man’s life can get very dark at times, so I think it’s warranted to focus on a more darker re-telling of the Spider-Man origin, it’s just another take on the character to contrast something like the more cheesier Raimi films (not to discredit those films of course, they do certainly have those very emotional moments and I do actually prefer them).
I prefer the darker tone of TASM 1 over TASM 2. Wish they’d kept the same vibe for the sequel

I always loved the Amazing Spider-Man series, it was a modern vision to Spider-Man, like Man of Steel was to Superman, and he would be way better fit in MCU than Tom Holland version, i mean c'mon, this Spider-Man is one of the best after Toby, had the best swings, beautiful Soundtrack, Spider-Man persona, suit, Flash Thompson, Gwen Stacy, Aunt May, even the cinematography is great, the action and drama scenes, this feels more Spider-Man man than the first two MCU Spider-Man movies.

Ah the TASM movies, some of my favorite Spider-Man movies for how it took a realistic turn to the spidey mythos. Idc abt how people say TASM 2 is bad, i rewatched it not too long ago and in thoroughly enjoyed my time with it, I do think people are a little too hard on TASM 2 and way too hard on TASM 1
If Avi Arad would've learned from his mistakes from Spider-Man 3 the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies could've been amazing.
In terms of visuals and music it is the best of Spiderman, I feel that with a better screenwriter and if Sony did not get involved they would have done something better. But at least I like this saga more than Holland's

I love the realism of these movies. The first person shots, the reactions of the characters through the camera, the way the camera perfectly tracks Spider-Man as he is swinging, the real life stunts. Then in Tasm 2 where they make the scale bigger it is satisfying because you go from this real feeling movie, into a higher scale movie. It is almost like you can see how a realistic world natrually transitions to a less realistic world. And it all feels so natrual. Tasm are the best looking Spider-Man movies.
