Due to some unforeseen flight changes in our schedule, we didn’t have much time to explore the Konso Village, but we did have enough time to experience this amazing cultural heritage site, to taste some local food. Visiting the village was a humbling experience, an area of Ethiopia that has been through famine, and to sit down and sample some food from a local family in the village, food they had grown and prepared, was truly special. It is important to remember how fortunate we are to have food on the table.
Konso Village - We began the day in Addis Ababa, where we flew to Arba Minch in southern Ethiopia. After having a quick lunch, some delicious Ethiopian food fish, we drove the bumpy road to Konso. Konso culture and villages are a UNESCO world heritage site, for their preservation of culture and traditions, and it was incredibly special to visit. We toured the village, and I was amazed how advanced their systems were, and their construction.
It was evening and in one of the homes we met a lady who was cooking the family meal for dinner. She was cooking sorghum, moringa leaves, and cassava. It’s not the most flavorful food you’ll taste, but cooked with love, ingredients grown right there, it was a huge honor to share some of their food. It’s a remember of how privileged and fortunate we are to have such abundance.
Thanks to Dessie from Go Addis Tours (goaddistours.com/) for arranging everything on this trip.

Mind blown. The Ethiopian people are doing something right with their cultural preservation efforts. The village is impressive and the community is so organized. What a great experience for little Mika to learn about the world through your travels as a family. So envious in a way.
We preserve our culture because we were not conlized by any more !!
We shouldn't look at these people as poor. They're preserving their culture in an ever-changing world. The way they live and appecriate there customs should teach us to live life to our fullest.
absolutely
They are actually rich have great farm rich soil healthy food .we east African have organic life style
Who's "we"? Aren't you projecting your perception of them as poor on others?
These people aren't poor, they have a great community where everyone helps each other. Money is not the only thing that makes you rich. It's just because some western people measure self worth by what they have, job status, money made that they are unable to see how rich the people are. I watch these videos so that I can learn about different culture traditions and food. If you think of it as a learning experience instead of judging all people / countries by how you live and what you seem matters. More often than not my experiences the more money you have the less happier you become. Please think about what you write so that you don't hurt someone.
Yes we are not poor but we live simple live
And we are so happy all Ethiopian peoples face is smile
And we have any thing

I am from that kebele. I grew up eating Kurkufa. It is a stronger and nutritious food, but Moringa is an anti-inflammatory food. According to a scientific study, Moringa, will be protected from various diseases. We consider you a brother because we admire our culture. Thank you ver mach

It was cute seeing him in the background trying to use his bread to pick up his food. I think it's amazing how Mark always has his family with him. He's a good man.
Those kids are healthier than majority of kids in the US or Europe!!
True like here in Germany a lot of sugarly things and Gmo foods
Sorry to contradict you... but I saw kids with kwashiorkor which is really not a good sign at all. However, I totally understand where you're coming from and I do agree that we have very poor diets in developing countries. Natural, safe source food is always the best choice.

Moringa is "murungai keerai" in Tamil and we do hv the practice of maturity stone in our villages
Amazing to know their culture
Also palankuzhi game & solam(solam) is similar that we use in Tamil nadu.
Many of the African practices are similar to Tamil Nadu and south India in general. This might be a proof of the migration theory from Africa to other countries.
Waao...
Yes in india for Moringa we call it murungai keerai in tamil. Language so closely coincided
In the central religion of the Philippines we say balunggay and other regions call it malunggai, kamunggai, kalunggay. Hahahaha love moringa leaves in my chicken! Hi to all moringga eaters!

As a kid Our family would visit my grandma in a tiny village in the mountains of Guerrero Mexico. They had no electricity or running water. Our bathroom was an out house & you showered outside with water you drew from the well. We washed our clothes in a stream that we walked to. They harvested their food & each person in the village contributed in some way. They had no debt. They had everything they needed. I’m so glad I got experience this way of life
No wonder the people of Konso are so healthy. The Moringa Olifera tree is also known as the miracle tree and contains many key nutrients and vitamins. Don't say whites. Just say people
Umut no people has destroyed more cultures than white people. So I’m accurate and honest when I wrote white people. Your feelings and opinion are not my concern.
@@billiondollarbaby973 I get why you are so offended :) but my point is better be different than follow the same steps as people in the past and group people into racial groups.
Continuing it is just being part of the problem
Umut What am I offended by? You don’t get to tell me what’s better for me. Give that advice to your people who created race, created a socioeconomic system based on race and still perpetuate racial superiority to this day. What I stated was actual fact. White people have no respect for other people’s culture and they have literally destroyed tens of thousands of cultures and hundreds of millions of people. So tell them to stop grouping people in to racial categories and setting out to destroy them.
