Good mourning as a C tier is an abomination. I’d say right on par with FHTI. The only thing is Skibas vocals were rough but it’s an amazing record

This is pretty close to my ranking but I think you have This Addiction too low.
Armageddon is definitely my favorite Alk3 song.
Why TF is there hate for Good Mourning? Solid album start to finish, at the very least in the top half of Alk3 albums.
There isn't hate for Good Mourning, most people myself included have it near the top if not number 1.
Remains is probably top for me. Then from here to infirmary, crimson, goddamnit, and so on

Seems we have very similar taste for ALK3! I generally agree with this, especially FHTI as S tier vs their previous albums. I typically prefer more raw and restrained production to overly glossy, overly produced music, but the biggest thing holding me back from returning to their first 2 more often is the production compared to their early/mid-2000s output, which was the perfect balance of sounding really good, but not too over produced.
It didn’t blow me away at first, but I naturally return to This Addiction more than any other album; if I want some ALK3, I think TA first, for some reason.
I need to give their more recent albums another chance; not that I disliked them, but they came across as samey to the point of redundant. But I don’t think it’s fair to expect a band like them to grow and evolve too much. And I’ve enjoyed Blood, Hair, Eyeballs so far!
That record on your wall, Same Places by New Junk City, is an absolute banger through n’ through. Good homies too 🤘
Having gotten into them from my partner (hers are in the comments, search if you dare!) and being currently obsessed with their latest song, which is now on a loop, here are mine:
S-Tier - "This Addiction" (it has a trumpet solo)
A-Tier - "Maybe I'll Catch Fire" (underrated as fuck, gets way too much hate as an album), "Crimson" (more addictive the more I listen, love the production), "Agony and Irony" (which is "God Damn It" with a budget)
B-Tier - "From Here to Infirmary" (it has their best track, in my eyes, "Private Eye")
C-Tier - "Good Mourning". Please don't hurt me!
D-Tier: "God Damn It"
And I need to listen to the other two.

I honestly can't believe he named most of the songs from ITTC without naming Pale Blue Ribbon. In my opinion thats one of the best on that album.

I’m with ya on 1, 2, and 3. But I would swop 5 and 4. Aside from those all the splits are awesome. After that I can’t say I like those albums a lot, it’s just a track by track basis at that point.
So imma disagree on the cringe live performance. It's very well done, it's leveled perfectly, it's post Crimson Dan and Matt and that's the problem. Cringe was raw and sharp on the ears, the live killed that. Thumbs down from this guy. Enjoyable yes but not the best version, album version all the way.

For my favorite Trio song, i'm torn between I can't believe & Mr. chainsaw. love them both.
I can't believe is a super deep cut. Love it!
Mr. Chainsaw was my first song from them. Great song.
Goddamnit or Self-Titled are the two I always think of as my favorite albums, but Mr. Chainsaw is probably my overall favorite song.

I have to say I don't agree with a lot on this list lol
For me, Good Mourning and This Addiction are perfect albums and it surprises me that Skiba himself apparently doesn't like Good Mourning that much. Skiba's vocals on that album are crazy! Oh and the lyrics on This Addiction are out of this world really
Take for example the opening lines of Dead on the floor
"Like to ships in the night we're colliding and sinking into the black sea of our love" It doesn't get more Alkaline Trio than this. This is them in their purest form. For me, their weaker albums are Crimson and My Shame is True, even though I would still rank them C at worst.

Good mourning was the first album of theirs I bought so I have a love for it but I still think it's their best.. Then Crimson, FHTI, MICF. I really liked MSIT also. I did not like Godammit at all. This Addiction I bought on release day and sold a few days later. Terrible album imo. Agony and Irony is not great either. Never listened to that last album. I really liked the Heavens album though.

I hate Godammit. It’s so cringe. It’s such a cop out. When I listen to it, I have trouble breathing it’s so bad. I would go nose over tail to never hear a song from it again. Matt and Dan should be Sorry about That, the torture I go through while listening to this album, it’s like My Little Needle is sticking into my ear drum. It’s so bad It makes me hurt in my clavicle. I’m Probably Just Gonna move to like San Francisco and get away from this album. Anyway Enjoy your day
