Thank you for the tutorials! I own Brenso and absolutely love it! I'm planning on getting Falistri and Sapel in the near future. The video content you've provide has really help me to understand the signal flow and functionality of your modules. I look forward to more videos and hopefully more modules from Frap Tools in the near future. Keep up the great work! 🙌

Thank you Trey! We're happy that you're having a great time with the BRENSO! If you're curious about FALISTRI, feel free to check the /seminars section on our website, we've got some free workshops coming up!

Very interesting! I think I’m a fan of a cryptic consistency. By the way your bass amp goes to 11…

I am not convinced of the benefits of keeping a panel almost devoid of labels, using miniscule symbols, using very thin lines, also dotted lines which are even fainter and harder to see and then to finish it off, using a black background that makes everything almost impossible to read. It is style over substance and justifying this design choice by talking about training muscle memory is excusing yourself of one of the most important aspects of design that you mention at the beginning - intuitive design. People should use the manual to work out the functional operation of the module and shouldn't be forced to use the manual just to decode the panel. A design language that has to be explained because it has no labels is the opposite of intuitive design, it is counter-intuitive. When dealing with the complexities of modular synthesis, do we really want a counter-intuitive design and then have the designers make a youtube video to tell us it is actually a virtue? I am not convinced of this approach.

Hello! It's perfect if you're not convinced: the scope of the video was never to convince anybody nor claim any objective truth. We just wanted to expose the reasons behind our design choices, which are 100% subjective and thus open to disagreement.
It's also true that our design is counter-intuitive: in the video we state it clearly, and we draw the comparison with other devices like the Monome Grid or actual musical instruments as examples of counter-intuitive designs.
If you prefer other interface designs that are more self-explanatory, awesome! We also say this in the video: there is not a single way to approach a protean instrument like the modular synth, and we believe there's room for anybody in this world.
