it's more uncomfortable holding the 3 for a period of time. the one plus 5 is much more enjoyable to hold for longer periods of time
Just a correction, it's not 2x optical zoom as stated by Carl it's only 1.6x optical zoom that's why they call it 2x lossless zoom as opposed to 2x optical zoom which the iPhone has

Summing up all the reviews and comments on the One Plus 5:
Advantages
- Cheap price ($200 less than most flagships)
- Amazing specs
- Solid hardware and software
- Dash charge
Disadvantages
- No IP rated water resistance
- Design is meh, and looks similar to the iPhone
- No optical stabilisation for the camera
- No innovation or special features (e.g. infinity display, HTC U11’s ‘squeeze’)
Note: Don’t be put off by the fact that there are quite a few disadvantages, most of them aren’t too much of a problem for the average consumer.
Although this phone is cheap, you’re definitely getting more value for money by buying the G6 or S8. If you’re on a low budget, I’d pass this one and keep an eye out for Xiaomi’s new phones.
The LG G6 is better and cheaper than the OP5. The G6 is the new flagship killer.

1. $50 cheaper ($480 vs $530)
2. Expandable Storage
3. Wireless charging in the US
4. IP 68 waterproofing
5. 1440p display
6. Much better dual camera system

I hate when people list design as a con; it's entirely subjective. The only things about a design that's objectively good or bad is build quality and other perks like IPXX.
Jack Lin yeah Xioami I very good but their global support is very very bad, their global ROM es meh, and they don't work on their cameras, if you see the forum a lot of people talk about that. In my country the OnePlus 5 cost around $450 or $700 less the others flagships.

Bad optimization or lack of support from Android?
Nothing to worry about there, "available RAM" means unused RAM, Android always tries to use the biggest ammount of RAM posible, its simply the way the OS works. Still, what a fail from OnePlus, this launch is catastrophic such a blatant copy of the iPhones design and the dual camara setup is crap without OIS yet the price of it has skyrocketed...
Riadyawan Acakadut Oneplus said that some apps were kept in RAM permanently so that they can open faster.

How does the Dolphin emulator run on the OnePlus 5 since it has the SD 835? It runs good on the Galaxy S8 and that's with lower benchmark scores than the 5.

how about someone with one plus2 with its unique design..should he also replace
s8 for me. my OnePlus 3 is starting to tweak out and do some strange things. and any water that gets on the home button seriously messes with it. plus the lack of waterproofing or any redeeming or unique features turns me away from it.

prices are literally getting rediculous... right now I'm debating on actually making the switch to LG Stylo 3 in Aug/Sept or if I am going to get what I bet will be the next x power as I bet it will come out at that time.... prices are seriously rediculous...

I purchased my OnePlus 3 last August so it's not even a year and there has been two updated models. I guess they are playing catch-up but their strategy eludes me. I'm sticking with my 3, I like the design, weight and screen size. I'm a little unhappy with the width because it's not comfortable to hold but I like the bigger screen 😃
yknot000 I would hardly consider 3t as an upgrade from 3. other than slightly newer chipset, bigger front facing camera, and sapphire camera lens, it's pretty much the same phone. If you go to Oneplus forum, you'll see that software wise, they're treated as the same. so it's not really an upgrade, more like a iPhone 7 and 7+, if the 7+ was released a few months after 7.

Still upgraded to the 5 from my 3. Not disappointed, it feels even snappier than the 3! The main reason I switched, which almost ALL reviewers forget to review, is the microphone. Watch "OnePlus 3 vs OnePlus 5 Audio Quality Comparison", and then you will know why I switched :). I like the review though!

after updates EIS on OP5 now and it's pretty good, no more problem with stabilization, better than the one on the IPhone 7
It is so important to remember that all these issues with the camera will be fixed via updates
it actually has an electronic image stabiliization .
i have a moto G2 for 3 years now. i just ordered the oneplus 5 last week. it's being delivered tomorrow. it looks like a Massive upgrade.
So for an extra £140 over what I bought my OP3 at, I could have a better in one way, worse in another way camera and spec bump that doesn't really affect the user experience... think I'm ok with the OP3 since it is still performing brilliantly and looks better.
Oneplus 3t is a good choice if I wanna buy a new phone?
