An intro/ending to make any Trekkie go wild. Just perfect, and the score from First Contact makes it even better.
The score is awesome :)

Isn't S3 supposed to be the final series of Picard?
I agree. I just wish instead of uss pioneer at fleet museum we saw the nx-01. I just love that shop. I do hope we get a good veiw of the museum.
A finally perfect intro ive been waiting for since anticipation for ST:ENT when i was disappointed (very slowly grew on me). Finally an instant winner. Only took 20 years of waiting but its finally here.
Good episode. Love the star base ship leaving dock and music. Just like the original cast movie III
Yes. At least 1 very good episode. Two old friends meet join forces again to save their old friend. The rest can be continued in fan fiction IF the rest of the season will be mediocre.
Had the writers put as much effort into creating a worthy Star Trek plotline as they did the theme music & CGI, the show would have been worth of watching. Instead what did we get?
A continuation of every character with dangling bits needing to be put in their place, talked down to, made to seem incompetent in every scene by poorly written 'strong wahhmoon'.
Those faults don't take away from the music, especially the cello portion (missing from Season 3 sadly) being brilliant.
I'd promised myself I'd never watch this dribble again but something happened, Season 3, Episode 1 actually felt to me a little bit Star Treky. Could the murder of the franchise be undone by economic reality? We the audience don't want to be preached to by woke, talentless, entitled hacks who hate the lore? People will however pay to see a good story.
I've never smiled so hard at Closing Credits before. This was such a perfect surprise.
Love that they have used the First Contact music
Hearing the Star Trek theme ON Star Trek again has me pumped…great start to the season!
I won't lie, I got tears when I listened to the FC theme in the credits and "For Annie" 😭. That and all the references in it, absolutely perfect.
Was a beautiful touch for her wasn't it ❤

Unless there is a bit of spoiler here for season 3?
The absolute best music collab I’ve ever heard for a tv show
After the debacle of season 2 this third season has been so satisfying. A lot of care and attention went into this final season . This was TNG season 8 basically.
Finally.....legacy music. This is the music that is Trek.
It’s better, but it’s a shame it’s not original. Only TNG repurposed Goldsmiths ST Motion Picture theme, Deep Space Nine and Voyager were original, and of course the original ST films and TNG films had their own themes
@@Edbrad the TNG films still used the TMP theme for the end credits of each film, the opening and closing notes anyway while the middle of the song remained exclusive to whatever movie it was. Other then that spot on.
@@Edbrad We got a new theme for the remaining credits and the Titan.
@@Edbrad I don't care how much you nitpick the music is still magnificent. I personally would not spit on two Academy award-winning composers who created those themes.
People hate the new Trek they hate this they hate that.
Now you got somebody who honors the legacies of James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith and you want something different.
@@Clonest I’m going to go full aspie ADHD Adderall induced explanation on you…..That is a good point about the TNG theme, but I think it still feels a little lazy. I think space between TNG and The Next Generation as well as the fact that it isn’t the same exact piece of music I feel is more forgivable, and can be rationalized whereas using First Contact can’t nearly as much.
For me there’s the feeling that TMP was a theme that was more “general Star Trek”, and was kind of a “Next Generation” type moment. It’s really quite different and unique to all the others, it being the first film is just one aspect. With First Contact it feels like it’s a story within a much wider story, since there’s backstory referencing the TV shows Borg/Picard plot. They take TMP theme for TNG as if seeing The Motion Picture, by being a very stand alone film, looking the most like the Original Series, represents a kind of “Next Generation”. Despitethe issues with TMP, the TMP basically represents the classic overall theme of Star Trek of “exploration/seeking out new life, to boldly go” etc. The Next Generation using that theme is kind of making that connection. The music for TMP by Jerry Goldsmith is itself “next generation”, as a significant leap from the Original Series music. Since it’s contained within the first Star Trek film, representing “Star Trek” as if this is the theme of Star Trek in a cinematic setting, the film is so self contained and so much more like an Original Series episode, it’s not a stretch to see why they’d feel okay to use it.
There’s another obvious point here…. First Contact also used the theme this way, as did all the other TNG movies. First Contact soundtrack, like Generations, shows you that the TNG theme is “General Star Trek” for TNG. In a similar way to the the original Star Trek theme was “General Star Trek”. The original series theme used before Discovery was used when they wanted us to feel an even deeper more nostalgic confection to Star Trek that precedes the Next Generation theme.
The point is… First Contact’s theme Picard uses was this particular film specific, like Generations was film specific. They used The Next Generation theme/TMP theme as the main Trek theme.
Discovery is also biasing me against it though, since I wasn’t a huge fan of the theme in JJ Abrams’ Trek. It was kind of boring by comparison to other Trek themes, and totally overshined when they played the Original Series theme. But the worst is when they made Star Trek Discovery which didn’t bother to write any new theme, and just used the Original Series theme.
So from my POV, it’s been a long time since we had a good Star Trek theme. Enterprise had that song, JJ’s Trek was passable but bland, and the we get Discovery and Picard. Where’s the original themes? Discovery is just LAZY. Although rather suits the fact that it has such an identity problem when it comes to Star Trek, using the Original series to say “it’s Star Trek!” rather than making it a really strong ST show that didn’t need to remind you. So at this point Picard season 3 using First Contact just feels like a continuation of the laziness. They COULD have totally hire classic Star Trek composers like Dennis McCarthy, who wrote DS9 theme and Generations. I’d even be okay if they had a composer take The Next Generation theme and First Contact and try and create a great intro piece that cleverly combined the two together. But they literally just sound like they used the original First Contact recording, nothing in it sounds like it’s been thought out and meaning put behind it other than that it would be an easy solution for the show’s intro music.
1:00 the Starfleet March! Such a powerful and majestic piece of music!
Best arrangement of the Fleet March.
The nostalgia is so strong here in this sequence, and it’s not often that I get misty-eyed *and* goosebumps simultaneously, but this outro was so well done, and it felt like a continuation of TNG, right down to the LCARS screens, and the theme from First Contact was the finishing touch. It’s 2:26 seconds of TNG/Star Trek awesomeness.
AGREED. LIVE LONG and PROSPER
Season 3 was 💯% Fanservice and i love it 🫶🏻🫶🏻
The most beautiful end credits ever in the ST history. Can’t stop crying. For Annie.

And it's the one performing Tess voice on the game at The Last of Us too. I think they remembered she as well.

As a TNG fan since the very first episode in 1987 I am really loving what I’ve seen so far & the First Contact music just makes this season mean that much more. I teared up when I saw Annie’s dedication in the original motion picture’s font. Keep boldly going, cause this really feels like TNG (unlike Nemesis).
Oh man. I'm speechless. Got teary right away when the First Contact music hit. This intro is now my fav. It's a masterpiece, in every detail, all the screens... Thanks for making all trekkies very very happy.

Man this is beautiful. I just hope the writers can stick the landing this time because the first two episodes of Season 2 were great before.....well you know the rest.
Hopefully season three will learn from the mistakes of season 2.
Exactly. As much as I enjoyed the first episode, I'm downright afraid to be optimistic, because season 2 started brilliant, and by the end the story made so little sense, even those first two great episodes retroactively turned out to be stupid too.
@Brejan I'm pretty much expecting it to go off the rails after episode 3. Even if it turns out to be the best star trek season ever I'm still deducting a lot of points for the train wreck that was season 2.
@@chrispeplinski7306 There's something awfully creepy about this season, in a good way. The Dave Cullen Show absolutely despised the first 2 seasons but apparently loved this final one.
True but this time things are different
Just hearing the First Contact movie theme and the original Star Trek theme always gives me goosebumps and the music is so beautiful and peaceful especially for the First Contact movie because I love this one in particular it makes me want to cry and a beautiful tribute for Annie Wersching at the end of the sequence. When I think about it I became a fan of star trek because especially of the actor and the legend who Parick Stewart is I always loved the role he played as Captain Jean-Luc Picard I think the character suits him perfectly a figure of a great captain of the spaceship and also seeing Riker and Seven of Nine together on the main bridge of the ship it's beautiful to see and the visual of the ship the Titan and the space dock is a panoramic beauty worthy of a great movie.
"For Annie" Excuse me while I do a sequel sob to the one a few weeks ago. Rest in power
Getting hit with this one after a tribute the same week from The Rookie for being the scariest bad guy the show had. We were lucky to have her.

The first contact theme is maybe the best movie theme ever.
LOTR and Arrival are better
This music triggers a feeling of nostalgia. 😢
if you listen to the original first contact theme and is consecutively they line up almost perfectly, it's as if they made sure it would be a proper continuation of the series and music
There are fans for Seasons One and Two of “Picard”-but I am not one of them. However, Season Three is the stuff of legend. If “Next Generation” ends here, then it ends with an exceptional story and a farewell to wonderful characters we’ve loved for decades.

One thing I love about this is the CRISP, PITCH PERFECT, GRANDER arrangement of the First Contact and TNG themes.
Moreso than even the movies, this end credits shows how much reverence and respect they had, and that we've always had, for the TNG series. The music just drives into you the values of hope and optimism.
This music track, this new grand arrangement makes me want to sign up to Star Fleet.

I'm 41, Dutch Trekkie. And ever since 2017.....I just couldn't get into Star Trek as much as I wanted. Season 1 of "Strange New Worlds" already give me more smiles and goosebumps. But thís? Paramount? You're back with season 3 of "Picard". I am teary, and I think we all know now for sure:
"Strange New Worlds" should be the 'new' 23rd century Star Trek series.

And dear Sir Patrick Stewart?? Please keep being involved in that spin-off, whether it's behind the scenes or as a cameo.
Okay, tears wiped away 🙂. Thank you all. Deep bow to everyone involved.
You need to think about something. Patrick Stewart did not want to do this show they had to sell him on it.
He has said in more than one interview that he did not want to go back to Picard: he realized how much it it changed his life etc but he was not interested in reprising the character.
Burst into tears when it said For Annie. What a horrible loss at such a young age. I hope the borg theme was for her
1:31 I bet that’s the Enterprise D Saucer section at the museum. We know it’s now cannon it’s there from Season 2.
Sounded more like the motion picture version of the song, with the snare drums and more flourishes. I dig it. As an aside the music throughout the episode often reminded me of the original series movies. Certainly not a bad thing.
Lots of cues to the movie era trek. Right down to the graphics in the opening credits and the look the Starbase and Titan.

Lustig: die Noten, die man ab 00:45 sieht, ergeben "Hopps, springt das Wiesel", das Lied, das Data in "Encounter at Farpoint" auf dem Holodeck versucht hat zu pfeifen.
What we get here is a gift to all Star Trek fans out there.
Seeing the old crew reunited and listening to the old familiar music makes all fans' hearts swell.
Star Wars fans can only dream of this at the moment.
A fair number of the Star Wars characters have died as well.
Here's something for everyone else to think about: the youngest member of that cast in the TNG crew is 51 years old that's Wil Wheaton everybody else is above the age of 70.
It took them three seasons to figure out what we wanted all along.
I have always loved the FC theme, not just as the best Trek theme but one of the best from any movie. FC is also my favorite ST movie, like many others. So to see it used here than follow up with TNG theme was just a genius move. I grew up watching Trek with my dad, mostly TNG but so.e of the others I watched as well. I was so surprised to hear the TNG theme at 0:59 when I watched the end credits after the first episode.
I hope they use it as proper intro starting with episode 2. Though, to be fair, no matter how bad other stuff got in previous two seasons, I actually thought the intros there were very nice too.
1:00 - 1:56 The moment the TNG theme starts to play I knew it! " Star Trek: Picard Season 3" is actually "Star Trek: The Next Generation" Season 8 😉
Would be nice, but I do remember Patrick Stewart making his announcement "Jean-Luc Picard is back" in 2020, stating that "Picard" would be unlike TNG.
Well, Season 1 and 2 were different. God knows what made Stewart change his mind.
Anyway, Star Trek seems to be back on track towards future. May Picard Season 3 lay the course for future generations to pursue the real canon Trek.
@@tebcaeroiihs7067 He didn't changed his mind. In recent pre release interview he said that there will be major "changes" in S3. And Picard is no longer the same man like 20 years ago. He also hinted that other TNG characters changed too.
So I'm worried that they will continue "dark" theme of S1 and S2. One of the crew members is likely imposter or controlled by S3 villains.
@@inquerion8867 All I can say for sure is that no other TV show nor any movie so far has appealed me, filled me with joy and anticipation in a way Picard 3 did today - and hopefully is about to do week by week.
@@tebcaeroiihs7067 Plus this season also features the "next generation" of the TNG crew, including Jack Crusher which is (supposedly) son of Picard & Dr Crusher, and LaForge's daughter who is the helmsman of the "Titan." There are likely offspring of other TNG crew featured in the latter episodes.
So in a way it's both a nostalgia and a last adventure for the TNG crew and also paves the way for a future "next generation" series, with some children of the crew possibly playing a part.

Cool credits and graphics, pretty good arrangement of classic scores. To be super picky, the word "INITIATING..." is odd, as is the shot of music notation. Nevertheless these are some of the best intro/outro graphics ever done in ST.
This should be our international anthem.
1:11 - Mentions the loss of the USS Constance, Stardate 44002.3. The day of the battle of Wolf 359. I wonder if this is eluding to the enemy in this season. She appears to hate Starfleet and in particular Picard. In episode one, Picard having been borg is hinted at. I suspect the mysterious female we've seen in the trailer as the head bad guy was on the USS Constance or had family on board that she lost.
Otherwise.... why mention the ship, use that stardate or show a redacted report about survivors in the credits?
Totally tracks. It wouldn't be the first time someone held a grudge against Locutus/Picard. Not all would be so quick to forgive and move on.
